i got a deal for three hour zipline tour plus a cd full of pictures for only $99!!!!! it was such an amazing experience, our group only had six people so the tour finished faster than three hours but still we had a lot of fun. here are some helpful hints for people who dont live in/near big bear, traveling over an hour to get there: 1. wear bright color clothing, pictures come out way better!!!! 2. due to winding roads, make sure you are a good driver!!!!!! if the driver in your group SUCKS do not take the afternoon tour, otherwise it will be a huge safety issue when coming back down the winding roads in the dark.... 3. listen to the tour guides and have fun!!!! only thing i dont like about this particular zipline company is that they wont let you bring your own cameras, i understand the safety issues they are talking about, imagine some d*mb*ss trying to take a picture of him/herself while going down the zipline and end up face in the pole b/c he/she didn't break correctly on the zipline... but still, it would be nice to have your friends in the group take pictures of you when they are done and help each other with picture taking. the pictures are slightly more costly, but hey... once in a lifetime experience is well worth it!!! i would totally go back again when i find similar deals!!! read more

I went zip lining with my family this past saturday, it was very fun! The tour guides were very helpful and funny. Unfortunately we were not able to ride the last 2 zip lines because of the weather...hail and lightning. The owner was very generous and gave us free t-shirts. I gave this zip line experience two stars because as soon as we walked in the lady at the front desk who was short with shoulder length brown hair was complaining to the other workers how some people in the 8am van were talking "crap" on her. She just kept getting louder and louder about it, very unprofessional. Than as my sister and i went to get up for our free shirts at the end, the same lady looks at my sister and says "the shirts run small, so you could fit in a size small because you're tiny" she then looks at me and says "they run small" with a bad attitude and wouldn't offer me the small. I was offended as she referred to me as being fatter. This continued for a good 5 minutes as she kept pulling for me to get a bigger size simply because the small wouldn't fit me. She was very rude and if people were complaining about her prior to my experience im surprised she is not fired. read more

It was fun I think, actually standing on the edge of the platform getting ready to go was a personal issue with me, I was AFRAID! LOL!! luckily for us we had a small group of 6 & didn't have to wait long and our 2 tour guys were really cool dudes! what was missing was a photo to take home to show friends & family :( the camera was not working up on the mountain & we were told not to bring our own cameras. If you go take a small camera that fits in a zippered pocket to have just in case. I wish I would have just kept mine in my pocket. read more

Loved it. Super fun! Everyone was so nice and on the ball, we left on time, no dilly-dallying, instructions very clear. The only complaint I had was no cameras allowed because they want you to buy theirs. I was actually OK with that because it's almost impossible to hold your own camera when ziplining. My complaint is their cost for photos was ridiculous. $5 for 1 photo? $10 for 2, $45 for the CD... Come on, really? For 1 jpg photo? I didn't mind paying $109 for 3 hours of ziplining, but the price of the photos was a turn-off. I hate to be ripped off and there is no reason to charge that kind of money, especially since they make over $100 per person off the ziplining! That's just Greedy... read more

Worst experience of my life. My hubby decided for us to do the zip line for my birthday and have a great weekend in Big Bear bad decision. The zip line tour had like 30 people for a you tube video with lots of camera equipment and microphones. This people were rude and made my husband and I uncomfortable. I give 5 stars to all the tour guides on our zip line tour. They are great, supportive and willing to be your human mattresses to catch you at the other end of the line in order to make sure that you're safe even though they still have a green foam piece for you to hold on to if you can't brake in time. Before writing this review, I wanted to read other reviews from yelpers. My boyfriend and I went up to Big Bear Lake for his birthday weekend. This was our first time ziplining and it was by far the BEST experience I have ever lived. Every safety measures were taken by our guides. They were all nice, helpful, and really happy. Pirate Steve made us laugh so much. I was really nervous and trembling at the first drop but they told it was perfectly normal and kept telling me GOOD JOB at every landing. To the people who complain on here about no camera, the cost of the pictures or CD, or that their friend was upside down - there are signs everywhere about no camera (they have to make a living too and the photographer does not work for free) and the guides explicitly explained about what to do if you were to flip upside down (the harness is extremely safe and comfortable) and that they would rescue you if there was a problem. All in all, a great experience for us both, thank you Action Zipline for a fun and safe experience. Will definetely recommend you! read more

We just recently went ziplining with our two boys, age 10 & 13 yesterday, 10/2/13. From the first moment we contacted the place until the moment we walked out, this place was very professional and caring. The lady running the front desk is very thorough and kind. We watched a brief safety video then Dave, the owner, took us up to the zipline area which was about 20 min drive away into the mountains. Dave pointed out points of interest along the way as we drove. Once we arrived, we jumped on a jeep that drove us a few minutes further into the mountains. We had 9 zip lines which were all so much fun. We had two great guides, who have been doing this a while, so they were pros. Our youngest just barely met the minimum weight limit, so there were a couple of times he didn't quite make it all the way across, with only about 4 feet to spare. He got scared and the guide went out and got him, which took only a few seconds. The guides were encouraging to him, even though he was scared. He soon wanted to be the first one to go on the next zipline. They took lots of photos and they were for sale at the end of the tour. All in all, it was a great tour and we had lots of fun. Action Zipline has added a segway adventure. We went yesterday with Dave as our tour guide and had a fabulous time. Never having been on seqways before, Dave patiently taught us the safety tips and ins and outs of riding a segway that we needed before leaving the parking lot. Within 15 minutes, we felt like pros. Dave led us through the Big Bear community, pointing out interesting tidbits about the area. We loved our 2 hour segway tour and will definitely be sharing our story with friends. We took our whole family (myself, my husband, and our two teenage kids) on the zip line tour. What an amazing outing! The guides are patient and helpful and try their best to make you comfortable and relaxed. We were all nervous, but by the 3rd zip line we had all pretty much settled in and were having fun. The photographer being there to take pictures is also a great touch! Although I wish he would have changed angles enough to actually get our faces, in most of the pictures part of the harness was blocking our faces. All in all this experience was a blast! We can't wait to go back! And we will definitely be telling family and friends to use Action! read more

My family had such an amazing time at Action Zipline! As first timers we were a bit nervous, but the guides are all very helpful and knowledgable, our fears were quickly forgotten. They give you great instructions and examples that made everyone feel comfortable and confident. My wife and I came up to Big Bear for the weekend... Wanted to go zip lining, but the weather was uncooperative (it was supposed to rain), so we opted for the Segway Tour. It was racing, so some places were inaccessible because of the wet ground. It was very fun and informative. Our tour guide "Ducky" was outstanding and made the time fly by. I'm upset over the lack of customer service from this location as they do not care about the customer let alone their circumstances. Unfortunately my friend and I do not live around the corner from this business so it does take some planning. But again unfortunately, things occurred that we were unable to make it and had to reschedule at least 3 times under circumstances that were uncontrollable (snow, sickness, work, living far) Well this last time the owner denied my request because I was "disrespecting" her company when I could not make it. She denied me a refund (on contract which I understand ) but denied me a reschedule. She claimed I was making her loose money when she clearly took mine! Saying that she could have sold my tickets when I was as unable to go, when I recall them having to reschedule my tour because they didn't sell enough tickets! And the other time I rescheduled the individual told me they had not sold enough tickets that day that the following time was more than available for me since there was actual bookings that day. She was extremely rude, and were talking about the owner, she was almost shouting through the phone so i do not begin to understand how is it that she wants to run a professional business when she's talking to individuals like that let alone deciding she's not going to give you your $120 back because she's 'loosing' mOney. Wish I would have never booked because they clearly only care about money and not the customer. If I could give negative stars to the rude owner I spoke too I definitely would, you don't talk to customers like that even if your upset otherwise you should not be running a business. read more

Suprised my bf for his bday a few wks ago, he loved it. We drove from Chino CA just to go ziplining. We went to the 8am tour (glad we did weather was perfect) There was 4 of us we paid $95 a person it was def. worth it!! We missed the van ride to the site because one of the frwys was closed =( but ended up meeting at the zipline location and ended up earlier then the rest (luckily cus they do not wait for you because they have other tours that will get delayed.) anyways the jeep ride was pretty cool, the ziplines are cool start off short and medium pace then they extend longer and speed up, 9 lines was awesome! I am somewhat afraid of heights so i was nervous and excited but after you go on the first line you're over it and having a blast... the instructors were pretty cool had great personalities, they do sstunts when they go down the zips...this is an experience u must try at least once! read more
