My son and I had a wonderful time playing all the different games, and we had a great workout too. Friendly staff, clean restrooms, plenty of hand sanitizer available. We will be back!

This was so much fun! My cousins decided to have a session at activate and we had a blast playing all the games together! The first levels were easy to help us understand the rules of each game but it was nice how quickly the difficulty ramped up! We definitely were moving a ton so I'm glad I had sneakers and workout clothes. I'll definitely play at activate again in the future! One note- the games may not be very accessible for people who are colorblind. It would be awesome if there was an option for people who would need alternate colors.

Activate Games is a new age style arcade experience that involves a very hands on and physical and super fun experience. This location is in Lousiville off hurstbourne lane. I recently attended a birthday party here for my daughters friends and it looked fun so I paid my own way to join in on the activities. So you get a wrist bands and pay $25 and get like a little over an hour of time to participate. They give you wrist bands and you register your name to an email to create a player account. They have 11 rooms with different themes (could be a target shooting and lazer dodge, basketball hoops, throw ball at target, wall climbing, hide and seek, etc). Each room has 4 diffrent style games for that area. You choose the one you want and choose a 1-10 level. 1 being easiest. All rooms are kind of a team building Setup and you can have as many as 5 people in a room. The rooms all have names to them and you walk up to a device on the wall and scan your wrist band and your name will pop on the screen. All players wanting to participate will scan the badge. The screen will have your 4 game styles along with a small how to play description. You have your 1-10 levels at the bottom and once all is selected you press start. If nobody is in the doors will pop open. If the room is occupied you will wait a moment until they are done. All games are timed and uses lights or colors as prompts. Usually green is what you can step on or climb on or can go. Red is bad and blue is a target to try and hit Depending on each game. All games are timed and only a min or so per level. If you fail level you get zero points. If you pass level you get points and as long as nobody is waiting behind you then you can hit a button on the wall to try the next level. Your time only comes off from actual game play time. So go at own pace. But once the doors open your time starts quick so you have to get through the doors quick. I will say participating here was some of the most fun I've had In a long time. Me and my kids loved this. Our personal favorite was the "seek" room where we played a game where you have an eye on each of the 4 walls with with buttons underneath all over. In the center of the Room is a wall column. So the goal in this is to hit all the lit up buttons and count in order up to 15. All the buttons light up and have numbers above them and spread out over all 4 walls. Every few seconds you will have a warning about the eye opening up and shooting a laser out. You have to get behind the column and avoid the laser and strategize who is going for the next available numbers when the eye shuts back off. It was a blast but so was all the other rooms as well. As you complete levels you earns stars. You have a kiosk out in main lobby to check your status. They have a reward programs as you level up based on earned stars where you get prizes. For instance we reached level two which means when we checked out we got "activate" water bottles. The cool thing is when you get the prize you don't start over on the next visit. You just work your way to the next prize track. So you can eventually earn all prizes. I believe the final level prize is 50 percent off for life. So pretty cool perks system. Part of the admission is you do get a personalized locker to put your stuff in for safe keeping. You can also go to a photo area in the center of the lobby and scan your wrist band to get a free special photo emailed to the attached email You registered with. Overall this was an amazing experience and we had so much fun. We absolutely will be back and back often. Such a cool, innovative and fun experience. Glad we have one here in Lousiville.

It is recommended there that kids should be 10 and older and I would have to agree with it. The games are fun and interactive where some could be geared toward younger kids.…

Particularly when chefs prefer fancy twists on familiar bar food. Our group of 6 adults and two grandkids had a hit & miss experience. My wife's fish tacos were a disaster. We requested blackened fish instead of fried on corn tortillas. Her dinner was a disappointment. Cold flimsy tortillas and cold fish with an overpowering aioli. No sides were included in this order. Another diner ordered the BLT. Again, they had to dress up the sandwich rather than stick to the classic. The pimento cheese did not enhance the sandwich. Another at the table went with one of Recbars "egg rolls". It was lead. Heavy, with an overpowering greasy, flavor. The "wrap" was so heavy, we couldn't tell what was inside. On the plus side, my chicken parmigiana sandwich was very good. Lightly breaded and fried, moist and covered with a solid marinara sauce and melted cheese. Served on a bun with tater tots. The cornflake chicken fingers were impressive. Large pieces, again. lightly fried. Service was friendly, patient & prompt. They only serve Pepsi products and if you're looking for a diet drink you've got one choice-diet Pepsi. Thankfully, they do offer unsweetened ice tea. Of course, there's a full service bar for "grown up" drinks. The desert, "oh cinnappy" ordered for our 9 yr old grandson was a hit with the adults. He preferred to hit the games. The rest rooms were smelly and messy. And one had no paper towels to dry your hands. But here is why we'll never go back. As we were ready to leave, the sky opened up. A drenching storm. My wife asked the hostess for a plastic bag to cover her hair. The response? Not my job, you'll have to ask your server. We were dumbstruck by that response. She's the greeter. And clearly has no concept of customer service. The servers were busy (the place was hopping on a Sunday night) and she was just standing at the front desk. No one waiting for a table. No one at the door. She just couldn't be bothered. So, we won't bother to come back.

Barkeep was welcoming and helpful. Order process was extremely fast and was handed off to me before I'd even finished my short pour beer. Bar seating was comfortable and had views of the outside areas. Noise level was mild during this Saturday afternoon visit. Chopped brisket sandwich was tender and smoky on a soft bun and topped with crispy tobacco onions. The side of potato salad was one of the lightest, fluffest versions I've ever experienced, and I'd return for this again and again. The OG Burger went over well and was fully dressed and appeared to closely mimic a smash-burger. The side of sweet potato fries that I sampled were nice and crisp and also seasoned well. The appetizer Van Damme with Brussels sprouts was okay, but a tad overcooked for my personal preference. The enhancements with cotija cheese and hot honey sauce were great.
