The staff is great (I think his name is Joe), and that's the only reason for the stars. It looks Iike the materials they use are not high quality. They replaced the hood of my car and after driving around for about 2 months, there's spots where the paint is already coming off of the hood. I called to let them know, but they said it's just wear and tear so they don't fix that. That's odd, because I drove around with the original hood for 8 years and didn't have any problem with the paint coming off. Definitely a disappointing experience. read more

I can attest that the shop is way BETTER than the ACTUAL tesla auto body in San Jose where I previously had body repair and replacement done (and it had to be redone due to the poor coverage of the paint job with drips and edges unpainted and poor color match, and took more than twice as long as scheduled.) In contrast, the folks at active Auto body did a great quarter panel replacement and paint job and finished sooner than expected even with additional tasks. They were very flexible about my questions and a couple extra things I asked them to look at while they had the car opened up. When I picked it up I had a few requests and they handled them right away and gave my car back to me. They are certified tesla auto body shop and even though this location was not on my insurance company (AAA) contracted list, I did not get any pushback whatsoever about the estimate, supplement, or using this particular shop. In fact I did not need to speak to my insurance company at all after filing the initial claim. Thank you to Joe and his team for getting it done. It's not fun to be hit and run and not at fault, and lose your car as a result, but at least this part went without a hitch. read more

My car was rear ended about 6 weeks ago while at a traffic light. Fortunately the damage to my car was minor and no injury to me or my passenger. The other driver's insurance claimed responsibility right away, and Active Auto Body was one of the shops on their recommended list as well as a certified Tesla repair shop. Before choosing Active Auto Body to do the repairs, I also checked the Yelp reviews - which were all positive. I was able to get a repair appointment about 4 weeks out, and they worked with the other party's insurance so that everything was pretty seamless to me. I also got a loaner car from Enterprise, and they were able to pick me up from Active Auto Body when I dropped my car off for service - to take me to the car rental location in Sunnyvale. When my car repairs were finished, I was also able to drive the rental to active Body, and leave it there. I was impressed by Pedro when I brought my car in for an estimate. He was fast, thorough, and very professional, and gave me a print out of the estimate very quickly. After dropping off my car for repair, I was also contacted by Joe, who was very helpful - and kept me updated on how long the car would take to be repaired. My car repair took 2-1/2 days, and as far as I can tell they did a great job repairing my car. They also took the time to clean my car inside and out - which was a plus! I want to speak to the integrity of this outfit. I'd just purchased a car sight unseen from Carvana. I was disappointed to find two areas of dull paint...looked like muddy water had been spilled on it. But it wouldn't wipe off. I had the option to return the car for a full refund within seven days so I wanted to get the damage assessed before I made my decision. My mechanic recommended Active Auto Body. I came by and a guy named Joe had his technician rub some fluid on the dull area and it started coming off, revealing shiny paint! Joe said that it was overspray, perhaps from some sloppy bodywork. He offered to keep the car and take care of it but also said I could just buy some lacquer thinner and use a microfiber towel to rub it all off like his guy had started doing--it wouldn't harm the clearcoat. What a guy! His goal was to help me--not squeeze every penny out of me. I thanked him profusely. I want to give back so the least I could do is report this good deed in Yelp. Active Auto Body has a great set of ratings, but I am lending my voice to the chorus. They are highly professional and do excellent work. Someone scraped my car backing up next to me. I emailed Active Auto Body through their website and was able to quickly make an appointment. When I arrived for that appointment, their facility was clean and welcoming. The estimator came right out and we looked at my car together. He discussed a way to repair the worst of the damage while also keeping the cost down. I made a subsequent appointment to have the work done. There was a second walk around of the vehicle at that appointment wherein my expectations were well managed. My vehicle was completed in the time estimated and the work looks great. The only small glitch was that I was told I would receive a call the day after I dropped off my car to give me a sense of when it would be done. That call never came. I was able to book an appointment for an estimate over the internet. They confirmed the time via email. When I took the car in for the appointment, it took less than 10 minute for them to come by and assess my car. Joe took a couple pictures and I was out with a quote in 30 mins. He did explain that I have to wait for a quote from my insurance adjuster's side of things before they could start work on my car. So now I'm just waiting for them to approve my estimate and send me their estimate before I could get my car fixed. Will be back. read more

I booked an appointment for an estimate on a slightly detached bumper on the front right side of my car. From the inspection, I was told exactly what was wrong with my car and that it honestly wasn't really worth it to replace the whole thing for something minor. Stunningly high attention to detail. I've been driving for 34 years and had unfortunate occasion to need a few repairs over that time. My recent experience with Active Auto Body stands out head and shoulders above any other repair experience I've had in that time. When I picked my 6 year old Tesla Model 3 up after the repair, it was in BETTER than factory new condition. When I first purchased my Tesla Model 3 in 2019, the body lines on the passenger side were not quite right even fresh from the factory, and they delivered it to me with a few smudges of grease on the interior cloth. I probably should have complained and not accepted delivery until they fixed both issues. When I picked the same car up from Active Auto Body 6 years later, ALL the body lines were perfectly straight (they had fixed damage in one of the doors and a rear quarter panel), the interior and exterior were spotless and they had actually removed Tesla's grease stains on my interior I'd been living with for 6 years, along with perfectly repairing the damage and blending the clear coat around the damage. I honestly didn't recognize it as my car when I picked it up because it looked PERFECT. (Bonus points for them detailing the car!) My wife also was like "What happened to your car, it looks so much better!?" Dropoff and pickup were professional, fast, and confidence-inspiring. They were clear and accurate with the estimate, and integration with my insurance (State Farm) and rental car (Enterprise) were seamless, with fast pickup and dropoff both times. After my insurance recommended Active Auto Body to me (again), I called them up and took the car in for a quote. They're so popular that I had to wait two months for the actual appointment, but then I had the same pleasant experience I had previously. Communication was great. There was an issue that caused a one-day delay, and they called me early on to explain it to me. I received another update phone call to tell me everything was on track, and then a last one when my car was ready. The side of the car that was fixed looks shiny and amazing. This week, I had a terrible experience with Active Auto Body Shop. Joe gave me an outrageous estimate of over $7,200 to replace my Tesla Model S liftgate because of a broken ball stud, claiming the entire liftgate needed to be replaced. After speaking with Tesla, I emailed Joe to see if there were other options, but he never replied. Frustrated, I took my car to B2 Perfection, another shop recommended by Tesla. They extracted the ball stud that was stuck inside and reconnected the strut--all for just $100! It's clear that Active Auto Body Shop was trying to take me for a ride with an inflated estimate and poor customer service. Be very careful if you consider using their services. I called Active Auto Body and Javier picked up the phone and asked me to send a few photos to their email address. Stupid me misjudged the curb and grazed it on my lower right bumper. Pretty good rash on the bumper that went pretty deep. After searching multiple body shops, I came across Active Auto Body. I did not make an appointment. The front desk receptionist, Christine, greeted me with a warm smile and helped me right away. Pedro did the initial estimate and upon looking at the curb rash, he immediately knew what had to be done and knew about how much it would cost to repair and knew about how long it would be done. No bullshit assessment. I cross referenced with State Farm Insurance contracted auto body shops and to my luck, they work with State Farm! YAY! Then, they said that they partner with Hertz so that if I go with the work, they will have a Hertz rental car ready for me to use! DOUBLE YAY!! I decided to file the claim and have the work done. Came in early on a Tuesday morning. Javier took care of it all and was very thorough with his inspection. Then went in and the rental car was waiting for me. Signed paperwork for the rental and I was out of there within 30 minutes. Javier gave me a call that afternoon with an update on the progress and the final estimate. I ended up finding out about Active Auto Body after I was rear ended and saw them as a very highly rated shop through my insurances preferred repair facility network and I now consider them my go to shop! I take very good care of my vehicle so I'm always nervous about taking it to a shop I am not familiar with out of fear that they won't care for my car the way I do. From the start, Active met all my expectations. They promptly reached out to me to schedule a drop off and I had my car in their hands shortly after. All the staff I had the pleasure of interacting with was very courteous and helpful, and the shop was very clean and orderly. Javier was my service contact and he was awesome about keeping in constant contact about the progress of the repairs and anything else related to my vehicles time there. They were able to get my vehicle back to me in a weeks time and honestly the area where the collision damage had taken place ended up looking better than when I had bought the car brand new.
