Came here after a hike wanting something nutritious. Ordered a couple of açaí bowls and smoothies. So delicious and fresh! Service was great; ambiance was great. Several people biked/scootered in and sat outside. You can see the river too!

Was craving something nourishing for my body after a week of pastries and indulgences so I stopped by Active Culture. I ordered a breakfast bowl with spinach and potatoes. Overall, it was very hearty and I ended up taking half home. That said, I found it to be a tad over priced at $19 for beans, two eggs, micro diced potatoes, a little cheese and spinach, some avocado and toppings. The cheese was also a bit rubbery and cold by the time it arrived. Overall, it was good and clean (which is a major plus) but I'm not sure I'd order this bowl again and would try the açaí instead. The staff were friendly on a busy Saturday and the bowl took about 15 minutes or so to come out. I sat outdoors which was lovely as it was a warm sunny day. There are lots of outdoor benches with umbrellas. The indoor seating is a bit more limited.

We had a delicious delivery and cannot wait to visit in person! We had the protein açaí bowl and the hummus wrap. Both delicious. Why a 4 versus a 5 star? The delivery was timely; however the two drinks we ordered (la croix) were not delivered. We probably won't order delivery again as we don't trust we'll get our entire order.

An amazing vegetarian place that has a great variety of healthy options. Came here for lunch with family after a day of skiing and everything was so lovely. It's clean and cozy inside w/ very kind staff & fast service. I ordered the breakfast bowl over spinach which was warm and fresh. You can really tell that the ingredients are fresh and you feel great and energized afterwards. Loved this place and its effort to provide healthy meals!!

Came here for a quick healthy lunch. The menu is full of fresh, veggie friendly options. I liked the kale salad though was disappointed that it lacked any protein. By far, the bend bowl was everyone's favorite and I would order it again. It had a curry like sauce, avocado, cabbage, beans, and rice! Super yummy.

This is the worst ceaser salad iv had in my life and my smoothie was brown ): it took them a while to get my order out. Seemed like they were short staffed. Not good at all.

Stopped for Lunch the four of us with 2 dogs.... Great selection of vegetarian options and wonderful delicious 'healthy plant-based diet' salads. Lots of beverage options to include alcohol. Pleasant seating outside makes this place a great alternative to more crowded options in this part of town! Well worth the stop! read more

I am not a vegetarian or a vegan, but this place has such good reviews I just had to try! And it didn't disappoint. I got the potato tacos and they were PERFECT- so filling and delicious. I was also in the mood for something sweet and got the protein açaí bowl and it was absolutely delicious. Best part is I don't feel gross or overly full like I do when I usually eat a huge dinner. Really just a great big rip off for the smoothies I bought a 8 dollar smoothie to go that I finished as I was walking that out the door it was only like twelve ounces and barely had any of the pineapple or watermelon juice just a bunch of kale and almond milk very disappointed I live right down the street and go here a lot t for food but this was my ffirst smoothie I highly recommend just going to mothers juice cafe read more

Love the smoothies and shakes at this place!! It's hard to find a dairy free smoothie or shake anywhere in Bend, let alone one that actually tastes amazing! Active Culture nails it on their creation of their creamy shakes. I love the chocolate mint shake, it's not too sweet and very thick and creamy!! Their bowls and nachos are amazing too! read more

Tried this place for the first time this morning and it was UNBELIEVABLE! I had the huevos rancheros and it was so flavorful...one of the better ones I've ever had...great enchilada sauce and potatoes that go with it! My wife had the breakfast tacos, which were huge and good too, and we shared the protein açaí bowl, which was excellent as well! I have officially found my favorite breakfast place in Bend! read more

Our go to breakfast spot in Bend! Yummy food that's good for you! I highly recommend the bliss bagel with vegan cream cheese! The detox smoothie is perfect for a hangover after you spent the previous drinking all the beer in Bend. read more

This is a great kid friendly place with a fun indoor and outdoor play area, with really nice lunchy brunch food. The fresh smoothies and shakes are particularly good. Some dishes are great and some need a little refining, but all in all it's a great happy atmosphere and the staff are very nice. read more

This is such an odd place. It feels like a watered down version of Jackson's Corner. You want it to be a neighborhood place, but it feels awkward and disjointed. The food is good, and they have gelato. If you get a date shake you will love it but think the price is too much for what you get. Also, does anyone actually shop the convenience items? I went in their looking for almond milk and alas there was none. read more

Loving this neighborhood spot with a focus on simple healthy eating with tasty vegan/plant based options. Great friendly service delicous drinks and a nice little draft list and bottle can selection. All around just a fun spot to grab a meal and a drink that's a little quieter than anything downtown (until the secrets out that is). I highly recommend you check it out. Ling gone are the days of the Riverside Market and French Bistro and I for one welcome that change! read more

Stopped here on our way out of bend. So glad that we did because it was so delicious!! I got the veggie bowl! Friends got huevos rancheros. Everything is very high quality and the taste is outstanding. Vegan and vegetarian options. Seating is a little tight but there was a big reservation the day we went in. Started by a local Orange County family, we began as a self-serve frozen yogurt shop in San Clemente, CA and over the years have evolved into a (primarily vegetarian) natural foods cafe with five locations across California and Oregon. While we'd been very hangry coming into the situation, I can confidently say we all left smiling and very pleased. Definitely suggest popping in here for their unique menu, many specials, and great service.

Product/Food: I ordered the buffalo chik'n crunchwrap and my boyfriend ordered the nacho cheeze crunchwrap. As someone who despises eating lettuce, the way the cold and warm ingredients are intentionally layered throughout the crunchwrap is beyond delicious. I ate my crunchwrap within minutes of it being hitting the table. The tortilla was perfectly flaky, the homemade ranch was an amazing texture, and the chick'n was seasoned to perfection. Ambiance: Toasty is a small food trunk in the Podski food truck pod complex. It is incredibly busy and it can be difficult to find a seat. However, it is fun and lively with some great people watching opportunities once you are seated. Toasty will continue to be our favorite spot to eat at in Bend!

The rest of the team, especially recently, have unfortunately always had frankly unwelcoming, bored, avoidant, unenthusiastic, dead expression attitudes no matter the time or stress level. I've even been in when zero customers were in the entire building and based on the sole interactions with the bar, or lack thereof, the magic gets leached away from the place. Without the bartenders, it's just an empty building after all. A welcoming attitude or some conversation is the warm hearth that brings cold travelers back over and over again; people remember how they feel. Then again, even when the place is packed with people, I don't feel any warmth or connection from anyone here. Maybe it's a sign of the times, maybe it's Bend in general. I'll keep trying and coming back nonetheless.

Having read the reviews I was prepared to order the stuffed croissant French toast. Last minute change of heart- I ordered the Gobbler, a roast turkey sandwich on a croissant with a flavor profile reminiscent of Thanksgiving. The sweetness of the fig jam played well with the poached pear, savory turkey and peppery arugula. Dessert will have to wait until our next visit. The pastry counter at the front of the restaurant displays cinnamon roles, scones, muffins and impressive cakes. There's even a marionberry and white chocolate bread pudding that would make a wonderful brunch choice.

Most other Thai restaurants in this area are decorated more like fast food thats trying to be trendy. We really enjoy the food here. Had the chicken satay, pad thai and swimming Rama. Another time we had the pad see ew which is usually a favorite of mine but it was a little dark and intense for our liking here.

Verdict: Zydeco is an outstanding restaurant in virtually every way. No negatives to report. The place is popular - arriving just before opening on a weekday, there was a line to get in. Reservations are definitely a good idea here. Our early arrival in line allowed us to choose a good table in the back, where it wouldn't be too hectic. That too was a good idea as the place gets loud with conversation when it fills up. Music wasn't loud, just the people. The menu isn't huge but there are quite a few, varied choices. Given the meal was a bit of a splurge for us, I essentially ignored the prices, which are not trivial by any means. Fine dining entails spending money. Zydeco has a ton of reviews and as the menu apparently doesn't change, I'll just say everything we ordered was great. Cocktails too. The Bramble Down is exquisite. Service was top tier as well. Timely, attentive, professional without being stiff. The capstone to our experience involved the bill. We actually had a gift card from 2017 - nine years ago. While it certainly didn't cover the whole bill, or even half, it was a nice way to defray costs. Unfortunately, when the server ran the gift card, it showed no balance. Not sure why but perhaps over the years, the card had been erased by stray EMF. Despite that and given we provided the card receipt, the restaurant honored the card for the full amount anyway. Well done. Highly recommended.

Josh, Nathaniel, And Jason were all helpful for our menu selections, gave us taste of wine to select the best one, and were attentive to every aspect of our dining experience. I can't wait to go back. I'm already dreaming of the zucchini appetizer, the beet salad, the caesar, the filet and seafood platter(lobster too), the scampi and linguine and the best prepared steelhead with vegie ragu. On a whim I decided I wanted a steak and Brickhouse was recommended by friends who do eat steak a lot. Good choice. I sat at the bar and ordered a 6oz filet mignon off the 4-5 PM menu. Absolutely no negatives. Everything was top tier including the service at the bar and cocktails. The space is quite comfortable and you're not subjected to loud music. I may become a steak eater.

Just spent six days in Bend and let me tell you about our favorite find: Active Culture. We were there for less than a week and ended up visiting this gem four times! Yes, you read that right - four times in six days. My daughter was so hooked on their Lentil Goodness Bowl that she didn't even want to try anything else. It's that good! The Lentil Goodness Bowl is a vegan delight packed with flavors that kept us coming back for more. We loved it so much that we bought their amazing OG sauce to take home and try to recreate the magic ourselves. The staff at Active Culture are incredibly friendly, making each visit a joy. The restaurant has a super welcoming vibe, and the outside patio is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy your meal. If you're ever in Bend, do yourself a favor and check out Active Culture. It's a fun, lively place with great, healthy food and awesome people. read more
