The therapy my father received felt careless, ineffective, and lacked the level of attention you would expect from a healthcare professional responsible for someone's recovery. When I tried to raise concerns about the quality of care, the response was dismissive and defensive rather than professional or solution-oriented. Instead of acknowledging the issues, it felt like the situation was turned around in a way that suggested my father was the problem. That is a deeply troubling way to treat patients and their families. The combination of ineffective therapy and the way our concerns were handled made the entire experience unacceptable. Healthcare providers should prioritize patient care, accountability, and respect -- none of which we experienced here. Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage anyone looking for physical therapy to find another provider who takes patient care and recovery seriously.

After my treatment, I waited to receive updated stretches/exercises, but they were never updated in the app. I had to call more than once to follow up, and despite being told the stretches would also be emailed to me, I never received anything. I originally contacted them in March to schedule an appointment. I was told they were unable to schedule me at that time and that they would call me back. After waiting over a month with no follow-up, I finally called them myself only to be told that my referral had expired. Overall, the communication and follow-through were very disappointing.

Most of the full time trained and certified therapists have PhDs. There are numerous aides in the facility to assist all patients. I have been very pleased with the entire therapy program and experience in this office. I have experienced many different therapy centers over time, and this one is the best and most professional I have experienced. Dr Peter Lorenz is my assigned therapist, along with trained and in-training aides. All the exercises have been professionally developed and my progress is recorded. The office staff are friendly and helpful. Getting timely appointments is tough, but the staff work with you to ensure timely therapy sessions. I look forward to continuing my therapy progress with Peter and All Star Therapy, in Vista.

I have spent more years of my life in PT for something than not. I have had a ton of injuries and…read moresome of those have become chronic - painful, limiting range of motion, etc. I can tell a good PT from a great one, have seen PT aides of ALL kinds, and I know knowledgeable and efficient administrative staff when I see them. I've been in and out of both Tri City PT and the same company's Carlsbad location. I have worked one-on-one with a lot of the therapists and aides - Chris, Dennis, Ryan, Hawaiian shirt Dave, Corey, even the other Dave! I've also spent plenty of time working with front desk Terri trying to untangle sticky insurance problems and to schedule appointments around my busy life. If I need PT, I call TCPT. Is Tri City PT perfect? No, but as a collective they're a solid 4.5 stars worth of darn good and they're a leg-up on many other places I've done PT. Are some therapists better for some things? Of course! I've read the negative reviews and I don't think they're fair. If something isn't working for you, you need to tell your PT and/or the aide you're working with. Never once have I had a therapist at TCPT blow off a suggestion or request I've made. And if a certain therapist doesn't seem like a good fit, it's ok to book your next appointment with a different one. PT is not a cookie-cutter one-size-fits-all sort of thing. Bodies are weird! Two people can have the same injury yet benefit from very different PT plans and different PTs prefer different modalities and tools. Frankly, I have noticed that some of what I'd call out as potential problems at Tri City PT actually aren't the fault of anyone on site. It seems like the powers that be (owners) sometimes make changes that then cause problems for patients - that the staff just has to go along with and cope as best they can. I'll also say that a lot of the tables and equipment are getting fairly ratty and looking quite dated, but again, that's not the staff's fault. I wish the different locations wouldn't trade staff around as much as they do so it'd be easier to stick with a certain PT once you've found one you really like, but at least the shifting around has let me work with a bunch of different PTs with different styles over the years. Bottom line: I keep winding up back at Tri City PT whenever my body needs a tune up. They're friendly, competent, and have done right by me and a lot of other patients. I'm not the only one who's been with them on and off for years and I think that speaks for itself.

I was referred here by an orthopedic hand specialist for physical therapy to address hand pain I've…read morehad for several months, with MRI findings showing inflammation along a tendon sheath. From the start, the experience was disappointing. The front desk and billing staff were rude and unhelpful. When I asked a basic question about payment, the billing person actually said to me, "Did you not hear me?" -- which was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. That interaction alone should have been a warning sign. My therapist, Tanya, spent very little time explaining my condition and offered almost nothing in terms of actual treatment. Her entire recommendation was to use ice daily and take fish oil and follow up as needed. When I asked if they could help address inflammation in therapy, she said they "only offer ice" and that ultrasound or other treatments would be a "waste of my time." No exercises, no manual therapy, no modalities, no handout, no individualized care -- nothing. I brought my concerns to the manager, Marc, and he simply backed her up, saying the clinic "only offers ice" for inflammation. That told me everything I needed to know about their approach. I left feeling completely dismissed, with no confidence in their competence or professionalism. This place does not provide the kind of thoughtful, evidence-based, or patient-centered care you would expect from a specialty clinic. I strongly recommend going elsewhere if you actually want help.

I self-treat all my injuries (thinking I'm some amazing doctor) but when push comes to shove, I…read morecan't self-treat everything. If it wasn't for me needing both feet to work, I'd probably still self-treat until my foot fell off. By the time I finally gave in to seeing an ortho, it was worse than I expected. I was very happy with the ortho I saw within the OSNC network and decided to use their physical therapists to continue treatment. Here's how scheduling works: 1. You call their main office 2. They fit you in to one of their two PT offices (vista and oside) based on availability with your schedule and their schedule. 3. Appointment confirmed Seems simple, right? Apparently, it's not that easy. I made an appointment for 6pm tonight and arrived early (as requested to fill out paperwork). I get it, I've working in outpatient PT before, I've treated patients...I know how this works. As I walk in, one therapist is leaving. One therapist is treating a patient. There is no one at the check-in desk, and it looks like the place is about to close for the night. A very sweet PT Aide (Angel) approaches me, seems confused about my appointment. Apparently, there's no record of any appointment for me. All they have a record of is my initial appointment with their ortho. That's it. Let's pour salt into an open wound now....and my therapist can't see me. Her 6pm patient is here. So, I'm there. No appointment. Fought traffic. Arranged childcare...and I'm not being seen. Angel tried her hardest to reschedule me, but between my busy schedule, their schedules, they close early on Fridays...it just seemed pointless. It's clear something was not entered into whatever appointment system they are using....or attempt to use. This incident isn't a reflection on the quality of the therapists or their aides. It's a reflection on the administration in the scheduling office. Since I've lost all faith in their scheduling system, I won't be back.

Orthopedic Specialists of North County - Dr. James Layson & Team…read more I truly can't say enough about my experience with Dr. James Layson and his medical assistant, Danielle. From the start, Dr. Layson showed incredible flexibility in seeing me quickly and took great care in evaluating my condition. What impressed me most was his diligence--he even ordered additional imaging right before surgery to fully understand the extent of my patella fracture. That extra step gave me confidence, and I know it made a difference in the outcome of my surgery. Danielle was consistently attentive, professional, and kind, making the whole process much less stressful. I also want to recognize the Carlsbad Surgery Center, where my procedure took place. Every single person I encountered was warm, informative, and supportive. They made me feel comfortable at each step, explained everything clearly, and followed up with a thoughtful note after my surgery. That personal touch meant a lot during recovery. I'm deeply grateful to Dr. Layson, Danielle, and the entire surgery center team for their expertise and compassion. They turned what could have been a very difficult experience into one where I felt cared for and supported at every step.
