I have a Ford Escape 2015 and it started with the engine light on after I was about to go home from work on 5/9/25. The Acton Ford was the only one available for a soonest appointment for service on 5/13/25. It was amazing, how you could book your service online through their website. It was also convenient that they are working closely with Avis Rental. When I dropped off my vehicle for repairs, I immediately had no worries on how to get to work the next day. The employees at Acton Ford were amazing, quick, and professional. I had my vehicle back on 5/17/25. Avis drove me back to Acton Ford after I paid and dropped off the car rental. read more

I took my 2014 Focus ST in because the steering rack broke. I don't like going to car dealers. For repairs they always seem to overcharge and try to sell unneeded services. I brought my car in this time because my independent mechanic doesn't have the equipment to do this repair. I was pleasantly surprised. The people in the Acton Ford service department were very nice and easy to work with. They answered all my questions. And once I gave the go-ahead they were prompt in doing the work. My one problem with them was the price, specifically the price of the replacement steering rack. They charged me $3K, but I was able to find the exact same thing online for less that $1900. But they wouldn't come down on the price. They swore to me that their markup on their cost is modest. Where did the extra $1100 go? I would go back here in the future for service that I can't get done at my independent garage. read more

I had received excellent service from Acton Ford until now. When I had a service done in October, I noticed a distinct decomposition odor in the car when I was leaving. I called them about it and they said my car was the 2nd one that week with a dead mouse. Funny that before I took my car in there was NO putrid smell until I left there. The service rep. told me they would gladly schedule service to "find" the mouse. I would have to pay for the service. I feel someone was trying to extort extra money from me by putting someone else's dead mouse in my dashboard somewhere. Still can't find it. They have lost a customer. Too bad, because before this incident I was going to purchase another vehicle from them...but they have lost my trust. read more

After posting my review the manager Chris Abatsis called me the next day and we had a great conversation. It appears to be a miscommunication because of a new staff member. Chris told me he would refund me another $400. His professionalism was what every dealership should have. It is greatly appreciated that Chris understood me and agreed with me, the customer. My check engine light came on and I went to have it "diagnosed" upon getting the code for the problem they tacked on all sorts of things. Told them to call my warrenty, and Ford said it wasn't covered. Needless to say its 800 to pick my car up that I don't have due to not working in 3 months. They tell me it's mine and my warrentys problem not theirs. Never go here. Never again I swear never again will I go here. On top of this they tried getting me to take down my review and screwed up the oil change. After all that time ( a week and a half) my car still isn't fixed or right. Brought my Ford F250 here to get the following fixed: - problem with front end, steering, alignment, etc I explained to them my steering wheel appears misaligned but the front end is making noise when the steering wheel is at full crank and the truck sometimes pulls to the left. All they did was the alignment and never took it for a road test afterward to see if those issues were gone. I picked up the truck, drove it home and sure enough on the way home, the problems were still there. Of course, on top of the work I had asked them to do, they identified other issues on the truck and of course I naively agreed to get them fixed. I ended up taking my truck to a local shop in Bolton, MA (Myerson Garage) and they quickly identified the problem and fixed it. My truck drives like new now. Lesson for you all is, don't bring your vehicle to a dealership for repairs because if the job is too big, they won't want to work on it. Instead, they look for quick jobs to sucker you into like brake pads and rotors, suspension repair, etc. read more

I had my f150 there to have them change the transmission fluid and filter. A day later the transmission starts to act strange. Not shifting right, going into limp mode. It smashes into gears goes from 10 to 1st gear. I found out that I lost all my fluid. A line or something wasn't put back right and I had transmission fluid all over the place. I drove 25 miles on the highway before I got home. I had to bring it back to them since they screwed it up. Waiting to hear what they say. I told them I don't trust this tranny now since it ran without fluid. On top of it they couldn't even give me a loaner, for something that they screwed up. I knew I should have gone to my usual dealer. Stay away from here, it was suppose to be there senior mechanic that worked on this. read more

This is a wonderful dealership from top to bottom. I've been bringing both our cars here for many years and every interaction has been professional and the services right on target. In my opinion, the sales and service staff genuinely care about their customers and I've seen them bend over backwards to accommodate both my needs and those of my friends on more than one occasion. In general I feel that car dealers face a real challenge in being reviewed fairly. It's the classic case of when everything goes right very few people write reviews because they expect it to. Yet when unexpected, one-of-a-kind, complex situations occur customers are quick to write a negative review if the dealership isn't a miracle worker. The fact that there are only 35 total reviews in over 11 years of Yelp history lends credence to this. So before overreacting to some of the negative reviews I would encourage you to get to know their staff personally. I'd be surprised if you didn't come away as impressed as I've been all these years. read more

Purchased vehicle for my daughter's bday. 41 miles of driving and the tire pops because the suspension coil spring was broken and rubbing on the brand new tire. I use to advise people to get their own inspections done, but I trusted Ford. I had a great experience at a different Ford dealership. This location fraudulently passed inspection on our used vehicle. Had we done our own inspection, the car wouldn't had made it to the inspection station. The 139pt check Blue Certified and state inspection done with them is all a sham. They admit nothing, pretend they are doing you a favor and refuse to give straight answers. Dan, the service manager, is rude and arrogant. He refuses to communicate in writing and takes no accountability. My husband put me on the phone and he refused to speak to me. There is no way the 139pt check and state inspection were done properly. I'll be asking the state to investigate their inspection station. Even knowing that these springs and struts wear at about the same time, they are refusing to replace both of them. Not all Ford Dealerships suck, but this one does. They do not stand by their warranty. They do not go above and beyond. They do not properly check their used vehicles. Once they close the deal, you will have to fight for any type of covered service. Roadside assistance. Repairs. It will all be a fight. Only 41 miles of driving and they are still giving us a hard time. All we want is what we paid for. False Advertising. No 139pt certification. Fraud. Illegally passed inspection with a rusted and broken coil spring. They should not be trusted. This is not a review but a response to Mr. Abatsis, the manager of Ford Acton. Mr. Abatsis, Thank you for outreaching to me about my ill experience I had at this location. I totally agree with you that the red writing may not have been done by your staff. I don't know who as I did have my car towed from another mechanic. That said; the other car mechanic that had my car towed to your location didn't know the AC blower was not working. So the writing could have been done by someone else but I'm not sure as you can't observe every person in your shop doing what they do or don't do. All that said let for this discussion assume the writing was not done by your staff per the policies in place. Why not remove it after the job is done? Why not remove it after your staff know it coming it to pick up my car? The fact that it was covering my passenger-side mirror was a safety hazard. It's clearly obstructed my view and while my car was in you care and before I signed for it your staff knew this or were not paying attention to the standard safety check done after/during the oil change. They may have noticed it but decided not to remove it leaving a clear safety issue in place. I could see a new JD making a good argument for not just pure and simple laziness by your staff but being whole fully negligent in a event of me getting into a accident because your staff did not want to wipe off the red making not done by them. I kinda feel like a 5 year old saying " I don't want to pick up the mess I didn't do it" On top of this issue your SA was so unpleasant to work with I could not see why she's not just faking in front of customers. She may have negative outlook on life but in any industry the person dealing with customers should just be happy in front of the customers. She did her job and got my warranty center to pay for the work but I can tell you she was so rude I actually prayed before calling her back every time. The noise issue is something I can't explain I just had a feeling the staff at your location put something on my breaks to limit the noise so my family are full mechanics and they looked at it and I was a bunch of gunk on the pad. Unlike some of the reviews that were posted , my service was quick and fixed the problem as promised. I have a 2015 f-150 that " had an electronic fuel module fail. Was in Chelmsford and called a NH dealer where I purchased it and another ford dealer in Drum Hill to have it towed for this service. The two dealers mentioned each had a 5 day lead time to look at it, Acton was a few days less so I had it towed there. I received a call that afternoon the the truck was fixed , a few days ahead of their best estimated promised date... A well deserved 5 Starr effort... read more

Ripped off... again. Acton Ford is BAD NEWS - at least the service department. Take it from me - I'm ASE certified and I've done business with and worked with quite a few shops. First time, I needed to get a hatch hinge replaced on my truck. They didn't hold the hinge in place when they put an impact gun to it (it shouldn't be installed with an impact gun anyway) it spun and scratched the paint down to bare metal - they "fixed" it with a touch up pen and an apology but I've since had to use bodyfiller to make it right. There's no real long-term replacement for factory paint; this is going to be a problem area for the life of the vehicle. The second time, I had them replace the rack and pinion, and the power steering pump on my truck - it was the dead of winter and I simply couldn't do it myself in my snowy driveway. They did a good job, but when I picked it up they told me I absolutely needed steering column pins "as soon as possible" based on a "clicking noise" - and quoted me an absurd price. I said "thanks but no thanks", planning to do it myself, but on the way home I found the clicking noise was actually a loose trim panel under the steering wheel, which rattled a little bit. It wasn't loose when I brought them the truck... I replaced the clip and have been fine since. The third time, I had a rewards credit from the previous work. I asked for "the newest, nicest tires" from a high end brand, and they sold me a set for $1000+, just a little under MSRP. Within a week, one developed a huge bubble. I took it back and they said I "must have hit something" - I didn't, and three other tire places told me it was clearly a manufacturer defect based on the type of damage. Come to find out, the tire was discontinued (and had been for several months before my purchase) so I was FORCED to buy a replacement from them because my vehicle is all-wheel-drive (you have to use the same tires tread pattern and wear level on all 4 wheels) and nobody else had any left in stock... I mentioned all this to a few friends and the horror stories came out. One bought a new truck from them with multiple mechanical failures, and they repeatedly lied to him about the problem and charged him for diagnostics until the recalls and TSBs came out. Another bought a truck from them and the tire blew up catastrophically, apparently part of a known flaw, and they tried to TAKE IT from him without replacing it - he's now involved in a class action suit. Another brought his showroom quality, cherry anniversary edition Mustang in, and these clowns scratched the hell out of his hood then claimed it was pre-existing damage. Another bought a "new" truck and it needed rotors with just 500 miles on the odometer - they recommended having them turned down (really... really? they're about $50/ea new) or replacing them for hundreds of dollars. I vowed never to go back... until I was forced to. I needed a service that required a Ford-specific machine to be done right... I called around, and it was either Acton Ford or a place closer to Boston who would be able to do it. I got a quote and set an appointment for the very specific service. I got a call from them to tell my my truck was "done" but that they had to do something VERY different than the service I requested - something I could have done myself in the driveway for $50 (and they charged me 5 times as much). According to them, old rusty parts prevented them from doing what I asked. They didn't call me to tell me that they wouldn't be able to do what I requested and ask how I wanted to proceed; they just did it... I paid and took my truck; there's no point in trying to argue with these people - it's never their fault. The kicker, when I saw my receipt they listed the service requested (not the service performed) and gave me a "checkup sheet" which was full of lies. I replaced my tires and brake pads/rotors a day before I brought my truck in... they had less than 50 miles on them. I also flushed and filled my power steering fluid, front and rear differentials, and changed my oil. The "checkup sheet" said my pads had 1/2 life left in them, my tires were "about 2 years old" and that I needed some fluids. Sure, guys. The service staff here seem like nice enough people, right up until you have a problem... I've had my ass saved by the parts department more than once (I do a lot of my own work) and they've always been courteous and helpful so that's something. I can't say I'm surprised by the many negative reviews, based on both my experiences and those of my friends and family. The loads of suspicious positive reviews which have been "filtered" by Yelp (which you can view at the bottom of the page) say a lot about their ethics. read more

Called this morning to see if we could get an inspection done today. They said only one person was in line for the walk in. We went right away to drop off our car. It was 10:30 in the morning. We returned at about 3. It had not even been touched. We had to wait 30 minutes in the waiting room for it to get done. No apology was given and no explanation. I find that ridiculous that we gave it 4+ hours to get done and we were supposedly next in line at 10:30am. Needless to say I will not be returning. read more

I'm totally in love with the Sales Department. I absolutely Loathe the Service Department. Where, oh where, does that leave me? 2 stars. Buying my truck there was everything you'd want in a sales experience. No pressure, straight talk, and a good price. Great. Service Department; a big flying douchebomb. I had lightning strike right next to my truck, and after that, it was dead. I brought the truck in, waited 3 days for them to even look at it, got the truck back, and it was a hefty sum for basically changing a few fuses, and running a diagnostic. A month later, my truck doesn't pass inspection because the on board computer shows a not-ready signal. I need my truck for work, so I brought it to a local guy, to look at it. He takes one look at it, and says "your on board computer is fried". Really. Turns out I got charged for a cursory check, FULL PRICE. And, if it was so obvious a problem, why didn't they see it? I bring it to this dealership, and they send me yet another place for a diagnostic report. Same result. So they replace it (it was under warranty), and give it back to me. It still shows not ready. They then try to charge me for replacing the computer. This shite goes on and on, 'til I contact a cousin-in-law, who is a Ford Technician, and he (over the phone, mind you) says, they didn't flush out the old codes for the computer. Holy shit-show Batman. What gets me is that I get a call from their customer Rep months later: I tell my story, and the Head of Service denies everything. I kept all the paperwork, you Dingleberry. I was quoted a whooping 2800 for a new radiator, spark plugs and wires, an oil filter, gas filter, and 4 new tires. ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND, FORD? I brought it to my local mechanic and he fixed EVERYTHING that Ford was going to do for 1100. I saved myself 1700. Where does Ford get away with charging such high prices, dingbats. Clearly they dont have any care or concern for the customer. I will NEVER return, nor will anyone I know. I told my story to everyone, and they all asked for the number of the mechanic i see. These people need to be reported to the Better Business Bureau! If you want to be ripped off, take your Ford there to be serviced. Last week we dropped our Ford F150 off because the "check engine light" was on. Later in the day we get the phone call: major work needs to be done...to the tune of $1,800.00. Stupidly, we say do the work. The work supposedly gets done, we hand over the American Express and we bring the truck home (about a 3 mile drive.) The very next time the truck gets driven, 3 days later, it overheats. Back to Acton Ford. My husband says he is not paying for the repair because (uh duh) you obviously did something wrong. Douchebag Service Manager denies all responsibility and claims my husband "has no proof." Douchebag Service Manager again denies all responsibility. Side note: the quote for the next fix was almost $400.00 until my husband told them he was taking the truck somewhere else for an estimate. That's when the bill miraculously dropped to $219.00 Note: this is not the first time this has happened. This very thing happened last year. We took the truck in for some inocuous little thing only to get hit with a BIG bill. Two days later, other things break. I smell a rat. Do they get a Ford up on the lift and fix the initial problem, then "tweak" things so that other things break a few days later? Mmmmm. I'd love to know if anyone else has had this experience because it has happened to us both times we've had a vehicle in there to be serviced. Want someone to do a good job with your Ford? Take it to Concord Chrysler in West Concord. Really nice guys, do a good job, don't rip you off. They service both of our Jeeps, and guess what? They also service Fords! I got charged full price for a bunch of BS that didn't solve the original problem. Ford's sales department in general is horrible, I hate the way they're incentivized. Quick update - I find it comical that they're attempting to spam Yelp with fake reviews. My 1997 Taurus has been there several times. Brake job was done right, oil changes no problem....when It came to my emissions leak THAT was another story. I brought the car in to have it serviced for a check engine light. They tell me it's emissions...smoke test the car then, fine. $160 and THREE HOURS later they tell me my filler neck is leaking, my EVAP sensor needs to be replaced and they've scheduled me for an apt. Oh by the way that repair will be $700. What!? I think not Batman! I put that sucker up on jack stands and pulled the filler neck out myself. With the help of my father we pressure tested it like Ford SHOULD have and it was fine, no pinholes NOTHING. The sensor was 100% fine. I was pissed. I canceled the appointment and brought it to R&D in Billerica, Rick and Todd looked at it...well guess what? There was a pinhole in my exhaust headers, they patched it, and there is a tube leading from the EVAP canister to the exhaust that builds pressure...it was 3 sizes too small...funny because no mechanic has ever touched that canister nor have I, only Ford touched that part of the car...odd...so, $150 later my car was fixed and I was happy. That service department will rip you off. DO NOT bring your Ford there! read more

They're always done with the truck on time, and do a good job of keeping me up to speed on progress throughout the day. Been there once for test drive and another time for recall repairing. The test drive was fine but the sale person was a bit slow on follow up email communication. At the end, I purchased a car from another dealer. The service department needed an appointment a week in advance to fix the recall. They fixed it keep their time promise and also gave me a multi-points inspection for free. Their waiting spaces was comfortable with chairs, tables and food/drinks. I would probably go there again for routine services in the future. read more

I had a very positive experience leasing a car from Acton Ford. I am normally on the defensive and ready to pounce on car dealerships because of previous BS, but that wasn't the case here. Everything was straightforward, and the actual cost did not exceed their original quote. (Actually, their quote less than the quote for the particular VIN on ford.com.) Also, the staff was very helpful with providing all the complex information that goes with new high tech cars. But if your family TRUSTS a certain business and has done business with them for nearly 30 years, you kind of hope that business has your best interest in mind. Joke was on us. My family bought 7 fords from these assholes over the years, had them regularly serviced there, and again TRUSTED these monkey to do the job correctly. But they didn't. They screwed us. Unreal! We had to do exhaust/muffler work to get my fathers SUV in proper shape to sell privately and of course we trusted Acton Ford and ED in the service department. But they did a half ass job. How do I know this? Because when the private buyer decided to put the SUV on a lift and have an independent mechanic look at it the guy was embarrassed to be in the same category as the ass-hat in Acton Ford's service dept. Pointed out obvious problems with the installation that even I could see were shoddy, and I don't know cars. Thanks for over charging my dad ($1700 For a screwed up job, ED?!?!), possibly baiting and switching my pops with after-market parts and fucking lying about it on the service contract agreement. I received some amazing service at Acton Ford last week. Here's what happened... My wife and I arrived unannounced in our 2018 Explorer with an inoperative power liftgate. It was obvious the service department were extremely busy that day, but the service advisor patiently listened to my description of the issue and entered the information into his computer. Within minutes, our Explorer was moved into the shop, and we noticed a technician poking the liftgate switches to confirm the problem. Shortly thereafter, the tech located us in the waiting room, explained what he'd found, and asked my permission to disconnect/reconnect the battery in order to reboot the Power Liftgate Module. I agreed, and five minutes later a smiling tech returned to the waiting room to let us know the liftgate was working again. After more than a week, it continues to perform flawlessly, so the quick the module reboot solved the problem. My wife and I really appreciated this outstanding service. Went in looking for a certain type of car, when they found out they didn't have any in stock, the sales guy took down all my search criteria and offered to help me locate a car that I want! Promised me that he would not call unless he found something so he would not be bothering me. He also was very honest about the performance of the car I was enquiring about and suggested that it may not be the right fit for me but only I can determine for sure with a test drive and he would work on locating one for me to do that. Too bad I found something else somewhere else before he did as I can see why he has been at this dealership for 18 years! His type of salesmanship is what all car sales people should be! read more

Very poor customers service and mechanical knowledge. My truck had a recurrent misfire in one of the cylinders. They replaced the spark plugs (several hundred dollars later) and told me it was fixed. I drove it out of the lot and it immediately misfired all the way home. Took it back, they replaced the injector on one of the cylinders (another couple hundred dollars), they called me to tell me it was fixed. Once again I drove it out of the lot and it immediately started having the same problem on the way home. Bring it back again and they start telling me they're going to charge me for diagnostics again. Ok that's enough you obviously just want to get to the bottom of my wallet. Plus they obviously never checked their work because a quick test drive would have revealed that the problem was not fixed, as I encountered the same problem on my way home both times they told me my truck was fixed and ready. Plus Dan in the service department gets passive aggressive when you don't buy the 800 dollar brake job from them. Get a clue, your work is over priced and sub-par. I, a 29 year old man with limited mechanical experience and knowledge figured out it was the fuel injector that was causing the misfire. Problem solved. Stay Away read more

My car was recently totaled in an accident while in the care of the service department at Acton Ford. Though the accident was caused by another person, the dealership is refusing to release my car to the insurance company unless I pay them for the repairs. Even though the car was never returned to me after I left it for repairs and the dealership can follow up with the insurance for the person who hit my car, they are insisting that I guarantee them payment before moving forward. I understand that this is a complicated situation, but it is clear this dealership does not care about how they treat their loyal customers. I had been a Ford owner for 17 years and continued to bring my car to this dealership for many years, well after any warranty was involved. Apparently this is how they repay that kind of loyalty. I will not work with this dealership again and I will spread the word as far and wide as I can that others shouldn't either. read more

Where do I start! We brought my sons car into the dealer for a leaking transmission cooler and lines and a transmission that was slipping. They quote us $1100 for the fix. My son had to drive to North Carolina to return to college in the next few days so we really didn't have any choice and wanted to get the repair done at the Ford dealership because it would be under the warranty. So my son takes off for NC, he gets there 1.5 days later and the transmission stops working, he brings it into the dealer there, and they state that the transmission is blown. So they recommend replacing the entire transmission and HAVE to replace the new lines and cooler because otherwise the new transmission would not be warranted. Well I call Acton and so did the NC Ford dealer, and Acton states that they fixed the leak, so the repair they did was charged fairly. How can that be, when they just put a bandage on the problem, with the real repair having to replace all they did days before. So essentially the new transmission plus another $1100 all over again for a grand total of $7000. We spent 2 months working with regional customer service, where they cut the price of the new transmission by %50, but no reimbursement on the Acton Ford unnecessary and expensive bandage of $1100. I went in and spoke with the Service Manager at Acton Ford whose answer was, he would do nothing for me, since he fixed the leak, and there was no way to see the damage to the transmission unless you took it apart. I asked him if he would give me some free checkups even to keep my business in the future. He said absolutely not, he would do nothing for me. He was cordial at first but then extremely rude at the end. Never, ever go to this dealer. ZERO customer service from Ford. Ford Owner Beware: Do not go to Acton Ford for warranty repairs they only Band Aid the issue and when it breaks again it costs you thousands of dollars because your car is out of warranty. I went to them 3 time since last December for the same issue and it is still not fixed. Now they are telling me my warranty has expired and it is going to cost me 3K to fix the issue.
