If you're wondering if you should buy a car from Waltham Auto Gallery, stop wondering and just go…read moredo it. They are incredible and I'm so happy I bought from them. For reference: I'm a 30yo single woman who has been driving since I was 15, but never owned a car. It's the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, so everything is screwed up, and I really needed to buy a car but was having a really hard time. I had narrowed it down to a list of about 4-5 cars that I would want to test drive, but the pandemic made that impossible. I was going through this process alone. And the dealerships were being VERY annoying. Besides having wishy-washy reviews, they didn't email me back for days. I decided it would be best to just work with a dealership that had a stellar reputation. That way, I'd have the best chance of getting a good value on a used car, and work with people who were truly interested in earning my business. Waltham Auto Gallery showed up over and over during my search, with nothing but 5 star-reviews. I checked the website and saw a car that was on my shortlist of options - a 2017 Kia with only 20,000 miles on it. I called. Daphne picked up immediately. She was so friendly, and said it would be fine if I came by that day to test drive the car. When I arrived, she gave me time to just look it over myself and ask her questions. We were all distanced/masked, but she did offer for one of their employees (I'm so sorry I can't remember his name, he was awesome) to accompany me in the car, to help guide the drive and answer questions. I agreed, and he sat in the back with the windows down (we were masked.) I wanna emphasize: I knew nothing about buying a car until about 2 weeks before I bought one. Daphne was so patient with me and answered all my questions, even the dumbest ones. She repeated herself and clarified when I didn't understand. I felt comfortable negotiating with her (although the price was perfectly reasonable to begin with) and she was very forthcoming with details about the car. She was prompt in answering both phone calls and emails. She was transparent about the delays at the registry and how long it would take to register the car, but they took care of it, and when I went to pick up the car, they'd put on the plates and taken it to get inspected. I've been driving the car for a month now with absolutely no issues. Plus: my stepmother is one of the most insane clean-freaks I've ever known. When she sat in the car on the day I brought it home, she remarked that she thought it was a new car because it was so clean. (Now, it's covered in dog hair. Oops!) Lastly: when I was signing on the car, a woman and her husband came to look at a minivan. Daphne remembered them from 2 years ago when they'd bought a car, and the woman said they still had/loved that car and were back for another one. This shows 1. the connection that they have with their customers, and 2. that the car/service is good enough to bring back repeat customers. Waltham Auto Gallery is AWESOME. Go buy a car from them!

From the beginning he educated me on the process and since he was a car salesman himself he knows the ins and outs about the "dance" that is buying or leasing a car. Alex went to 7 dealerships to negotiate the best price for me and in the end The deal I got exceeded my expectations. He handled all the back and forth and all I had to do was sign. I highly recommend his company and him personally! Cahpow is the best!

Unfortunately, I do not feel the service I received justified the fee. To be fair, she contacted several dealerships on my behalf and provided me with vehicle options. However, the prices she obtained were all higher than the price I was ultimately able to negotiate myself at a local dealership. Since professional negotiation was one of the primary reasons I hired a broker, I was disappointed that I ultimately had to take over that part of the process to secure the better deal. I also expected meaningful assistance with my Volkswagen Taos trade-in. The broker recommended getting an offer from Carvana, which I did. However, I was largely left to work through the trade-in decision and its impact on the overall transaction myself. In the end, I negotiated directly with the dealership and received a better trade-in offer than the Carvana offer. Communication was another significant issue. Responses were often slow, she was unavailable during important moments in the transaction, and I frequently had to initiate contact and follow up. Purchasing a vehicle involves time-sensitive decisions, so responsive and reliable support was an important part of what I believed I was paying for. Ultimately, I negotiated the vehicle price myself, secured the better trade-in offer myself, and handled many of the key decisions directly with the dealership. No refund or partial refund of the broker fee was offered. While the broker did contact dealerships and provide options, the results did not save me money, and I did not find that the service made the overall process easier or less stressful. My experience may not be representative of every client, but based on mine, I would recommend that prospective customers ask for a detailed written explanation before paying a broker fee: exactly what the fee includes, who will negotiate the final vehicle price and trade-in, expected response times during an active transaction, and whether any portion of the fee is refundable if the broker does not obtain a competitive result.

What can I say that will convince you of their fabulousness? 1) They're very kind. I've only ever dealt with Douglas but he's very friendly and happy to explain everything and answer all my questions. (Contrast this with my dad, who for years did all my car repair but would grumble and complain about it every step of the way.) 2) They're very quick. I had an issue over the weekend with my starter and they had me tow the car there and had it fixed the same day! I was shocked, anticipating having to cancel appointments for a few days while waiting for the repairs to be completed. Sometimes I have had to leave the car overnight but only because they needed to order a part, and even then the part was sent overnight and the car fixed the very next day. (Contrast this with my stupid dealer who, when I went to a scheduled appt for a recall, didn't have the part they needed even though I'd scheduled the appt six weeks previously.) 3) They have an emergency road service contract (a la AAA) and you can use it anytime. Since I have AAA I haven't used it but I might next time I need to. They told me I can be reimbursed for the AAA tow through their contract. Seriously, if you are even remotely near this place, I highly recommend you go here. They're really fantastic.

I strongly recommend that anyone reading this never trust this location. I scheduled an appointment three days in advance for 7:30 AM specifically for a simple rear-camera recall software update on my 2021 Explorer ST. The camera cuts out frequently and the fix is just a software update that should take about half an hour. I dropped the car off right on time at 7:30 AM. They told me it would take a couple of hours (though they also mumbled that these things "usually" drag until the end of the day). I heard nothing all day. No call, no update. After 3 PM I had to take a second Uber back. To my shock they had not even touched the vehicle. I needed the Explorer and this was a basic, quick job. Why schedule a 7:30 AM appointment if you are not going to do the work? They claimed they had only said "one or two hours" but that it normally runs late into the night. That is completely unacceptable. Management here is extremely weak and unprofessional. The lack of communication and complete disregard for the appointment time is outrageous. I saw the exact same problem in other reviews. If you value your time and need your vehicle back when promised, stay far away from this service center. Go anywhere else.
