Well, this market is one of the best markets I have ever been to if you are looking for items that you may not be able to find anywhere else. This is your place. My favorite day to come here is on a Thursday. I like to come on Thursdays because they have Shawarma and the Shawarma is so good. It's shredded. The cook makes it too perfection there's a variety of items that are available throughout the week so make sure you check their website but I'm telling you if you're headed on the 14 freeway to Antelope Valley or you're leaving Antelope Valley and going down below to Los Angeles or any surrounding areas this is your place to stop and get some refreshments and some delicious food. I'm telling you now you will not be disappointed so get on down to the Acton market country store they have lotto as well. The staff is amazing and it's clean. Went for first time as I drove nearby, walked in to find a daily special of fresh cooked shawarma , this had to be some of the best ive had EVER, top 10 forsure. Thursdays is that special I guess they have different food on different days, I just got lucky. The market itself is nice has all the basics, its fairly large so you'll find what you need. For a tiny community, Acton has the BEST little grocery store I've ever seen! Packed into this relatively small but clean, well-lit and modern space is an AMAZING array of products! Cute little general store in a country town, but this review is for the excellent baked goods at the little bakery in the center of the store. My husband had the cannoli and he said it was one of the best he's ever had. We split the huge chocolate brownie (took us two days to eat it), and it was fudgey in the center and delicious. What a nice little surprise! Looks like they also make some yummy coffee drinks and breakfast sandwiches so we'll have to come back another time. read more

I travel to the Acton area 3-4 times a year to visit family and go horseback riding nearby. This is my go-to spot for picking up groceries and supplies. I usually stay in Pasadena and would rather shop here than the large chain stores near the city. Last time we picked up some home made subs and sandwiches to take along for lunch at the ranch. Ahhhhmazing!!!! Made fresh with quality ingredients. We will be getting them again this trip. We also picked up the oreo chocolate cake to share at the ranch. Definitely getting that again too (although I'd love to try some of the other flavors)! Another thing... their selection of greeting cards right inside the front door is better than most card shops. There are not enough superlatives to give this place the kudos they deserve. We were camping in the area and stopped for a snack. We ended up shopping for meat and other products many times during our stay in the area. The staff is great the prices are not over stated and the again the staff is extremely accommodating. When we were leaving town, I was looking for hard-boiled eggs as a snack while driving. They didn't have any when I walked in, but they made me some while I shopped. That is the best customer service I have ever experienced. 5 stars!! read more

Customer service is 50/50. Some of the employees are nice and the others don't know how to give good customer service. The prices are terribly overpriced and almost just too ridiculous that they make it hard to support a local small town store. Better buy eggs from the neighbors or growing own food or shopping at the stores in Santa Claritin or Palmdale. The cooked chickens are $9 and when they get half the regular size chickens they don't adjust the price. Honestly going to stop shopping here. Good for emergencies only. If that. And I find their bakery good pretty gross. Only thing I remover like was the brownie. Same with their hot food is 50/50. Sometimes it's okey, other times it taste just disgusting. We like to shop local and small business. So my husband went here to pick up some groceries. The store was well organized with an abundance of choices in so many categories to list. They have local merchandise and foods, a little pastry dessert station in the middle. Friendly and efficient staff. My husband decided to surprise me with a few things from the dessert/pastry counter because I had been feeling a little down. He bought an eclair and 1 off each flavor macarons. Oh my gosh , I've never been a fan of macarons but I didn't want to spoil my husbands excitement of giving this all to me. But was I surprised, shocked, delighted all of the above. Every one of those macarons were amazing, the eclair did not disappoint either. I was enjoying every bite, of course I shared with my sweet husband, he loved it all as well. My Girlfriend's family and us were camping at the local KOA campgrounds and needed some supplies for that night's dinner. We had heard that if you drove down a bit you'd run into a small town with a market located inside. Driving into town and not really knowing where we were going, we came upon to local markets across the street from each other each almost the with same name. For whatever reason, we decided to give this one a try as we couldn't see the name but the outside looked almost like a whole foods or a sprouts of some type and thought they'd have a larger selection. This market has a large selection and had the ingredients we needed. The store was clean and the staff were reasonably helpful. Here are my recommendations: 1) I am sure it is easy for the staff to recognize locals from non-locals, and with another market across the street, it is going to be great customer service that keeps them coming back. For non-locals and first time visitors, I would say go out of your way to ask if they need help. 2) The store is large, and although neat and clean, first time visitors find them selves walking in circles trying to find things. 3) This goes back to #1 (Above), if you see first-time guests talking about things they are looking for take the initiative and ask if they need help. As we were walking around the produce section, we were trying to find something specific and two staff members crossed us twice without offering to help until we asked. In short, superior customer service is going to with customers. Give their jarred pickles a try they're great! read more

Fabulous LOOKING store, but the service is terrible IMO. First, what's great is that in the middle of nowhere you can get all these wonderful, upmarket items. Things are unfortunately, overly priced because of it - to the extreme. It's frustrating sometimes how expensive some things are, things which are routinely purchased elsewhere at normal products. It's the "Acton premium." I am often greeted with attitude here. The pretentiousness that some emanate, the backtalk and lack of patience from many, the lack of borders when it comes to casual talk amongst the workers, etc. When it comes to hospitality, smiles, and the human spirit - check out the Original Acton Market. For nice cheeses, cereals, anything deemed too fancy for the other market, or perhaps things you'd usually get at Trader Joe's (save the brand) or Whole Foods. read more

They carry a wide enough inventory to handle most everyday needs - a great ice cream counter- and plenty of surprises tucked in here and there to make it more interesting. They have good prices on their deli meats but boy does it take a long time to get your order. I usually have to dedicate at least 20-30 minutes wait time depending on how many people are ahead of me and they usually only have 1 person working the slicer. read more

Being a former grocery store worker I wanted to check out this store and buy some items. Walking around I was outraged at the prices! Extremely expensive but if you don't want to drive the 10 miles to Palmdale then I guess it's okay. An example I got an avocado for 88 cents at Wal Mart and it was great. Here they want $1.89! No thanks and that is typical of what the prices are like. I understand the mark up to cover costs since they have to get their groceries from an independent grocery company but come on all ready! I'll drive the 10 miles from now on. They bank on your desperateness and win! read more

Their pizza is out of this world and so well priced. The store is a little pricier than the very cheap Walmart, but not far from stores like Vons, honestly. We go here all the time! We LOVE the Acton market! We moved here a couple of months ago I was really worried about not having stores close by, my worries were put to rest when I went to the market this first time. Super cute and small but with everything a bigger market like Trader Joe's or Whole Foods would have! Who would've thought that in the middle of Acton I would be able to find plenty of gluten-free options as well as my favorite Veganaise ? I was amazed! Great coffee and yummy sandwiches. I love the Acton market. I've lived here for a long time and have always felt like grocery options were limited unless you wanted junky or cheap ingredients--which I loved as a kid, but not so much now. The Acton Market Country Store has a variety of really great products that I am always surprised by. They actually have a lot of speciality items like vegan milk (almond, flax, cashew), golden syrup, brown rice pasta, craft beer, and a good variety of Bob's Red Mill baking products. I'm vegetarian and eat mostly organic so this is a plus. They also have really yummy coffee! The only thing I wish is that they had a better organic produce section! They have a small area dedicated to organic fruits, but hardly any vegetables. This is the only criticism I have of the market, otherwise, the place is a Godsend for Acton! read more
