    Dried up lemongrass
    Tarsis A.

The only reason why I'm giving it two stars and not one is because customer service and there is great very nice people, but the owners need to get with the program. We don't need these type of businesses to come into our community to take advantage of our people look at this lemon grass for three dollars. I have no choice but to buy it cause I didn't wanna drive all the way to Lancaster the mushrooms, small package of mushrooms, five dollars. You can't tell me that all this stuff is coming from the country of origin. All this stuff is coming from out here if you don't have lemon grass that is at the very least nice and healthy then don't sell it or sell it for like a dollar the mushrooms, five dollars. I'm having second thoughts about ever coming here again and just going to the greens Asian market on Avenue J their prices are very reasonable, but more importantly they don't put dry vegetables out.

Small Filipino turo-turo-style takeout spot and Asian grocery store offering classics dishes like siopao, adobo, pancit, and grilled chicken or pork barbecue. A great place to grab authentic Filipino comfort food to go. Masarap (delicious)! The grocery store has a variety of produce, Asian goods and not just Filipino products. Organized grocery store and friendly, welcoming service.

Just moved back to Palmdale and to my surprise we have a Asian market! I love love love it. I enjoy the varieties for products they have. Mostly focuses on Philippines products but nevertheless they have wonderful varsities of asian goods to look for. The staff were nice and professional. I didn't try their hot food selection but I will be a returning customer.

My aunt told me about this market. I can't believe I've just heard about this place. The staff were so welcoming, polite, and very helpful. They have a great selection of bubble milk tea, great frozen desserts. And some so many other items you won't find in your other grocery stores!! Will definitely be back!!

Bbq chicken skewer. So delicious and flavorful

I've stopped to pick up lunch from here twice and it was delicious both times !!! I recommend coming early to get the hott foods cuz they may run out. The bbq pork and chicken skewer delicious!!! The pork buns and pancit very yummy Also picked up a few groceries and candies.

The store is very clean. No foul orders upon entering the store even they have a seafood section. The food on their menu on the day I went was very good. Home cooked style!! The Manager was very accommodating and very knowledgeable of the products on the shelves and very open to suggestions. I hope the store will flourish, since, Filipino stores in Palmdale are very scarce.

I hope everyone feels as welcomed by this review to check out this market as I was by the family who owns and runs it. Ponia African Market Butik is an incredible family-owned grocery store with beautiful artisan crafts, clothing and imported goods. If you are looking to stock your sos pantry (preppers delight!) with the most useful and nutritious items, you are in ouck If you need ingredients for traditional Central American, South American or Southeast Asian recipes, this is for you. If you're seeking African imports and traditional African goods, find treasure here. Wherever you're from, whatever you're looking for, you'll be given a warm welcome, plenty of useful advice and you'll end up with something great in your basket. This uncrowded market is an excellent pandemic choice for those avoiding crowded markets nearby. Enter the market and turn right for beautiful embroidered dresses, stunning African textiles and elegant special occasion clothing for men and women. Racks of well-made sportswear, premium cotton t-shirts and African-themed memorabilia. As a big Bob Marley fan, I love this section! Pass the clothing to find hair products, African soap, jewelry, toiletries and useful household items. I was delightfully overwhelmed by isles filled with beautiful exotic imported food such as dry goods, seasonings, nutritious oils, beans, greans, fermented drinks, and imports from Ghana, Nigeria, Jamaica, and Camaroon. African food is tasty, healthy and colorful. I passed shelves filled with red palm oil, Yellow African curry, bright green banana leaves, orange citrus jerk seasoning and amber peppers. (What a wonderful world) The southwest part of the market is the refrigerated section filled with frozen and fresh hand cut meats, and smoked, dried and cured fish. Here, I asked for help from one of the wonderful family members who work at the market and ended up with ingredients for curry goat stew, African greens and more. She told me about Africa's version of tamales, also called corn koki, which is available in family-sized portions in the refrigerator. I told her about humitas which are very similar. Steamed corn cakes are popular around the world. Like many dishes and things that connect us from far away places, this market is a gold mine for my mortar and pestle friends around the world. After getting a generous lesson about African food, I learned the owner of this market also owns an African restaurant in the area. It sounds great and I can't wait to try it! I headed home with my treasure and turned to the ultimate source for African cooking advice: YouTube. Rolls up sleeves. After watching market trips in Ghana, coastal cooking in Jamaica, fu-fu recipes made the hard way (pounding plantains and starch with a stick for hours) and a goat recipe which required a village to prepare, I'm ready to try cooking my first African meal. I have a long way to go before I know what I'm doing but so far, learning is part of the fun. After enjoying the meals I prepared with my market treasure, I noticed an overall improvement in my health. Miracles happen in mysterious ways indeed! African curry powder was always my favorite. Can it cure cancer?! Ingredients list before: tumeric, coriander, cumin, allspice, black pepper, garlic, fenugreek, cloves, ground red hot pepper. African curry powder is the most nutritious seasoning I've ever seen! Many of my purchases had unexpectedly good health benefits and high nutritional value. Don't you love it when you heal an ailment, learn a lesson get a great bargain and find a new favorite? Me too! I found this market after making a U-turn to avoid an unhealthy "donut". (You know the guy) If you see an abusive ex, a bad scene, an unhealthy decision, make a U-turn! End up here where you'll be happier, healthier and hopefully inspired by African food forever. Many thanks to this market for the food, advice, help I appreciate the opportunity to review this market and I look forward to reading future five star reviews from fellow yelpers! Five stars for these guys and the poetry inspired here.:)

HP Sauce is the main brand. I stopped in on afternoon Saturday the 7th. First impression was similar to the Asia market on White Lane, maybe less cluttered, more like a small supermarket. Walking the isles I didn't see it. To make sure I asked a stock clerk. He was friendly, hadn't heard of HP Sauce but walked me to where it might be. No luck. I didn't want to leave empty handed so brought an apple soda in a clear plastic can shaped like an aluminum can up to the register. I guess they took those earlier negative reviews to heart. The cashier, a man in his 40s or 50s, was so friendly. Joking with me in a dad joke way then gifting me a little morsel on my way out. This is one of the few Mitsuwa that doesn't have a food court (San Gabriel is another one without). The premade food section was surprisingly pretty good, better options than the Torrance or Santa Monica locations, imo. They do carry the same poke bowl that is also sold at Torrance. The store closes at 9:00pm, so the premade food section is pretty much cleared out and the self checkout is closed by around 8:00pm. The late hours actually got the busiest because only one staffed cash register was open and customers had to get in line instead of the self checkout. The store is clean and spacious, lots of self checkouts that are open during the day, and the bathrooms were clean (just need to get the code from a staff member!). I came three times on a weekday, once a little after lunch and another right around 5:30 and then around 8:00. Parking was a breeze every time. They have plenty of parking adjacent to the store. The other side of the shopping center gets a little busy, but Mitsuwa is at the comfortable corner closest to the train tracks. Getting out of the parking lot can be challenging because Tampa is a busy street and some people try to make a left turn out (I have my opinions about that lol). If heading out towards CSUN, the shopping center also has two exits out to Nordhoff so that worked well for me. I was in the area for a few job interviews... If I am hired nearby I'm definitely coming to this Mitsuwa a lot :)
