Got introduced to DC Chimney by a friend who came in, and immediately noticed that the prior person left our chimney filthy, with a lot of possibility to have the *wrong* type of fire coming out of there (as in, house damage). So what did Craig and his people do? First, he got in and cleaned the hell out of it. Second, he gave me advice on how to take better care of my chimney Third, he helped me understand options for my chimney (we're getting caps installed next week) Oh, and then there's price. He's cleaning it for *less* than the people who left it dirty AND he's incredibly fair and reasonable on things like caps. He's just a genuinely good dude, who does quality work, and is fair and reasonable to customers. Honestly, there are lots of people who claim to take care of chimneys, but DC is the only one I can trust to do it right AND trust not to rip me off. That should be what you want, too.

Did not have the right tools for the job or the ladders . I finally got up on my roof to see what had been done because I am quite old 71 to be exact and found that he had smashed my air vent across the top of the roof as I have a metal roof . He tried to use a standard ladder to get to the top which he could not reach so he laid it down and stood on to ​ the edge in able to get a few inches so he could stretch on his tipping toes to reach the top which he never saw the top . I also witnessed with my own eyes and tried to put up that slid down my chimney which smashed ​ on my roof with him on top of it . Now if you would have bought the correct ladders like a step ladder he would not have done such a poor job . Extremely unhappy with this contractor I would not use him again or recommend him . Which I have all pictures to verify this . When he was here I called the owner told all of my problem that I saw and he told me to just to let him go he knew how to do his job well that apparently was not the case

I wish I could leave a better review. We had a totally different company quote us for work on our…read morechimney and we were going to go with them, but they weren't responding to us. We needed the work done before the winter. The chimney needed to be rebuilt with flashing, a cap, birdcage, etc from the roof up and we also needed flashing put in. George came over and gave us a quote for half of the work we needed done, saying the rest wasn't necessary and they could do it that same week. I wasn't totally sure bc I am a new homeowner, but he claimed he'd been "doing this for 30 years and knew what he was doing" so who was I to say otherwise. The day came and they did all the work like they said. From looking at it from the ground, it looked nice. We were happy... until we tried to turn on the heat. Thinking our chimney was all good based on what George said, we were shocked when we hired an HVAC guy only for him to tell us our furnace was fine, but our chimney was full of debris and unsafe to use. He pulled out the pipe for us, so I went ahead and cleaned it out myself. The debris was over 8ft high and had broken bricks, not just soot and dust. I called and texted George to come finish the job, but he never responded. Thankfully, our heat worked after I cleaned it out, but we were nervous about the state of the chimney. Finally, the original chimney guys (from the other company) were able to come over and put in a liner, new pipes, etc. They said the job that Bill Miles Masonry did was messy. Even my former landlord said they have a bad reputation when I talked to him about it. The chimney specialists who finished the work said that we likely had carbon monoxide leaking through the chimney into the house based on how bad it was. I wish we had gone with them for the entire project because we ended up losing approximately $1200 by having Bill Miles Masonry come to not do the full amount of work we needed. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. 2 stars because they did fix the top of the chimney, at the very least.
