If I could give this company zero stars, I would. My father has been struggling with this eye group for more than two months. He received glasses from them that caused terrible headaches and did not work well. According to their policy he was able to have them remade or exchanged within 60 days. He took them in and they provided him glasses but did not fix the issue. He has continued to call and beg them to help but the staff has been rude and condescending. Unfortunately it's one of the only eye groups his insurance covers. The stress of using these defective glasses has caused veins in his eyes to pop and he is unable to read or drive without getting dizzy a few minutes later. The saddest part is that he has given up trying to fix the situation since they have been unwilling to help him. We will be reporting this company to his insurance along with making sure we change insurance groups so he is able to go to a good company to get glasses. Please if possible, avoid these guys. read more

I've been having vision problems for about the last 5 years or so. I dont generally trust medical providers as they seem to just go through the motions with me. It definitely wasn't that way at the Acuity Eye Group! From the reception desk, to the techs who gave me the initial tests, and finally Dr Chew, they were all so pleasant and informative. They made me feel comfortable with the whole process. They explained every step so that I knew exactly what was happening and there was no confusion. The absolute worst, if you are forced to use them because of insurance do your homework they do not care about your outcome, any information you get from them should be in writing and be sure you write everything down. Dr Bei is the best eye doctor I've ever had. She is friendly, caring, conversational, knowledgeable, attentive and so sweet. The staff here at Tustin office are great also. They are polite & courteous and always explain what's going on each step of the appointment. I've been to several of the other Acuity offices in OC and all the staff have been great. Their COVID response has been terrific. With eye doctors, you pretty much always need to be seen in person, but their screening and cleaning has been there from day 1 of this pandemic. Which has been very relaxing and comforting that we need not worry about risking our health to get proper eyecare. Thank you all so much! read more

After confirming my insurance prior to my appointment, I arrived and waited over 30 minutes to be told my insurance did not cover my visit (not true). After waiting another 15 minutes a technician gave me a brief exam. I waited another 20 minutes to see Dr. Chew who gave me a very brief appointment and no dilation. After receiving my prescription I went to their eye glass room where the person working didn't even answer my questions or get up off the chair to help. I walked out. I proceeded to take my prescription to another provider. After having he glasses made I could not see well out of my right eye. The prescription Dr. Chew gave me was so far off that I couldn't even see the big E with them on. I had to pay for a second exam at this other place and the glasses are being corrected. The technician, Cheyenne, was really helpful in getting my insurance info squared away before my appointment & gave me a warm welcome when I arrived. Had a great experience with the technicians and Dr. Bei. Not only impressed with her credentials, but her patient-doctor experience was excellent and relaxed. She gave me good answers to questions I had about glaucoma and eye drops, etc. and I felt she spent the right amount of time during my visit. The technician (Remi) who did my field vision test stayed in the room with me during the test. I told her I am usually left alone for the 10 minutes and often almost fell asleep or was totally bored during this exam as it is so monotonous. I appreciated her staying there and watching the test take place. I would recommend this doctor and look forward to my return visit. read more

I have take my mother to this place a few times and the service remains the same. The doctors are nice and helpful. However, their front desk staff customer service is poor. Most of the patients are elder and they talk down to them... very disappointing to see that. Even if you have an appointment still takes more than and hour to be pp. If you are looking to use their services for your parents... go a long to assist. read more

Dr appoint for my mother. Had an appointment but still took a while to be seen. Every procedure after they send you back in the lobby. My mom and I went back and forth four times. I could see other patients being bothered especially a lady with her mother and a two year old. My favorite aspect of my appointment was how friendly the staff were. Although she didn't explain exactly what each machine would do, the assistant did inform of various assessments that would be performed prior to seeing the optometrist. Prior to this, I was receiving care from an ophthalmologist in NJ, so I wasn't expecting much in the way of an eye exam. I was pleasantly surprised, as this office uses the same tools as the office in NJ. The optometrist asked me what my goals/desires were for my initial visit, and suggested an appropriate follow up appointment, as there was not much change in my eyesight, for better or worse. Also, this was one of the quickest appointments I've had, only waiting 10 minutes before the exams, and less than 2 for the optometrist. Until there is some revolutionary treatment to correct my eyesight (a form of unilateral congenital optic nerve atrophy), I will continue to see the optometrist. The only downside is that this place is almost hidden in a corporate complex, and it gets more crowded than I'd like. read more

I had an appointment scheduled here at the Tustin location three days in advanced. I had a PPO insurance plan at the time. I took time off of work so I could go there and they call me at the last moment an hour before my appointment to cancel while there was pain in my eye. They claimed my insurance wasn't active at the time when it was. I know my plan was a Bluecross Silver PPO plan and they may have cancelled just due to billing issues or maybe they weren't going to make enough money off of a patient. My father had an appointment on 10/2/18, at 2:40pm, with Dr. Acouah, and showed up a bit early. He was taken to a room, drops put in his eyes, and was told they would be back to check on him. At 4pm NO ONE HAD BEEN BACK, they just left him sitting in a room for well over an hour. When he stepped up to the counter, and told them he was leaving, NOT ONE PERSON COULD HAVE CARED!!!, their response was "ok". This 87 year old man sat patiently for all this time only to leave with no results, no dr visit, nothing. I find this to be completely unacceptable and frankly quite rude, unprofessional. read more

I am fairly new to the area. We picked this office off the internet & made a joint appointment for my wife & I. We arrived at the designated time, completed the customary new patient information & forms. We were escorted into an exam room where we went through a customary preliminary question and answer time followed by an eye check for vision followed by a pressure test. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Jessica Boeckmann entered the room & greeted my wife & I. She was a breath of fresh air - very friendly, put us at ease almost immediately. She completed a very thorough exam and took time to answer our questions. I was impressed by the state of the art equipment and technology that was used in the office. Their set up is efficient, they took me in on time, no waiting despite number of patients. I really hated this place! I was a cash patient with an appointment. The wait was still over an hour at least ! When I went in to see the ophthalmologist, she basically right off the bat said I was fine and all my very strange symptoms and eye issues were completely normal. She seemed very careless and like she just wanted me to be done and get out. Would never recommend this place! read more
