Our group of four stopped in for the first time last weekend. I don't think any of us had too high of expectations for the food here, as it is tucked into the back of a pub. We all ordered the Apollonia Italian sub, which turned out to be the best Italian sub I've had in Columbus! The Apollonia has the perfect spice level. Mr found out about this spot earlier this week, so we made time on a Sunday afternoon to pick up some sammies to go! Couple things worth noting: it's tucked inside a neighborhood bar on Indianola. Parking can be tricky but there's more around back and just down a bit closer to Savor. Inside the bar, just head to the back inside window to order. They have a menu with some notes and updates, also. Seems chicken sandwiches will be back soon which might be the thing I try next. Also, on Saturdays, you can order a pound of chicharron for $20. A bit about costs: I think it's a bit expensive. A single empanada is $5. There are price breaks for larger quantities ordered. Italian sub and double patty burgers are each $13. The Appolonia Italian is a decent size, but the buger, even with double patty, felt small. The service is super friendly! The quality of their offerings is much higher than average. Everything tasted really good, no notes. The spicy Italian is a bit spicier than I prefer with their version of a giardiniera on it, but Mr loved it. All in all, a generous 4. So if you looked at my pictures remember this location is inside a bar, pictures don't really do it justice. The food was outstanding, we started with two Empanadas one of each chicken and beef. These are so good, and are a nice size. The sandwich was loaded with flavor had a small kick for the the meats but so tasty, It had capicola ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese and all the sub toppings. However the real reason I wanted to stop here was for the Pork Belly Chicharron! I need to let you know these are some of the best. The box is huge and loaded full. I was super excited to have a few left over for later that night. Thet are getting ready to open an additional location soon, a stand alone and I can't wait to try the new location. I must say this was an amazing experience! The service was 10/10. The food was out of this world! The restaurant/bar was very clean. I just was impressed by the flavor of the of the hamburger it was the best hamburger that I've ever had! I tried the Mojo Pork, Pickled Jalapeño And Cheese and Ground Beef And Cheese empanadas. I left the same review on Google and figured I'd post it here too. The Appolonia Spicy Sicilian is probably my favorite Italian stye sub I've had in town. The bun was great quality and had the perfect amount of toast on it. The meat was also delicious and had some charred edges which were some of my favorite bites. The giardiniera had a really nice spice level and tasted like it was homemade. I was also pleased to see them using fresh shredded lettuce. Red onions were sliced thin which I think was a really smart move since red onion can sometimes be a bit sharp. It was all just really well-balanced, plus a nice kick of spice. Can't say enough about this sandwich. We also got the burger and some empanadas, and everything was just really amazing. Will definitely be back! read more

Got everything on the menu, couldn't be further from disappointed! Portions are great for the value, and the taste is tremendous. Their Italian is exactly what you're looking for. Little spicy, house made Giardiniera really cuts the fat and makes the sandwich. Their empanadas were amazing and all of the sauces, you can't have an unflavored bite. If you haven't tried this place, you need to. We were fortunate to come on a day they were randomly doing their Chicharrón, and so happy they did! Kinda hard to find...it's inside of a bar. The empanadas were not great. The dough was stiff and the filling lacked flavor. But the sandwiches were really great. I had probably the best vegetarian sandwich ever. Fresh mozzarella, tomatoes with a pesto garlic sauce and some mixed vegetables like diced peppers onions lettuce. My husband enjoyed his sandwich too but I don't remember what it was. read more

Went to Fat Arnies Saturday around dinner time. Bar was pretty crowded but we were able to find a place to sit. Both of us got a burger and we got an order of pork and beef empanadas. This is a kitchen window in the back of Rafters bar. But don't let that fool you on the quality eats coming out. The food is fantastic. Quality ingredients and incredible flavors.
