I went to Dr Rotunda based on a recommendation from my dermatologist Dr. Hick. I had a skin cancer that was aggressive in my inner ear. Yes I was scared but thanks to an incredible team at Dr Rotunda's office. I felt immediately at ease. The pre-surgery work from the office was done very professionally and quickly. As soon as Dr Rotunda walked in the room, I felt that I had chosen the right doctor to do this delicate surgery. He has an incredible bedside manner, and incredible way with people and his job. Took my elderly father recently for a skin cancer removal and Dr. Rotunda and his entire staff went above and beyond our expectations, to say the least. Dr. Rotunda, Nurses Darlene and Rayne were professional, passionate and caring, which are a great combination to have for any profession. Dr. Rotunda even called a day after surgery to make sure that my dad was doing okay. As for the staff, Nikki was wonderful in making an initial introduction and an appointment, Shinjini at frontdesk was great and friendly on our very first visitation, and Andre and Faris were so attentive in making sure we were comfortable throughout...they even brought coffee, water bottles, chicken nuggets and Ramen Noodle (yes, the nuggets and noodles!!), as the surgery took about 5 hours. If you're reading this, you probably have skin cancer and are researching skin cancer doctors. I will tell you as I sit here about a week post Mohs procedure that Dr. Rotunda is the best and his office is great. The entire staff is extremely professional, and from the moment you walk in, you feel very relaxed with the comfortable seating and the beautiful artwork on the walls. There are snacks while you wait and if you end up having the Mohs procedure here there are snacks with that too. The entire office is set up to not only get the job done, but to make you feel as at ease as possible. Everything is clean and well set up throughout the office. As for Dr. Rotunda himself, he is a confident but not cocky doctor. I can't count the number of times that my regular dermatologist told me that Dr. Rotunda is the best around. I thought it could be one of those things that doctors in the same line of work just say about their peers but it's really true about Dr. Rotunda. He is very warm and outgoing. He explains everything about your cancer and the Mohs procedure to you. He will answer all the questions you may have and make you feel at ease about the entire situation. There's a little book in the waiting area with rave reviews from past patients you can read through to make you feel even more at ease. From what I can tell my Mohs procedure was not the most complicated one but it was just about on the tip of my nose so it's one of those things that if you have a giant scar on your nose, everybody is going to notice as soon as you meet them for the first time. I'm a little more than a week post surgery and my nose is healing up nicely. I don't think my scar is going to be very bad at all. I am very very happy with the work that was done. He has everything set up for your post surgery needs including instructions, and a little post surgery bag of starter supplies. After several years of Mohs procedure treatments by Dr. Kelly Bickle at Newport Skin Cancer, who departed to open her own practice elsewhere, I underwent a subsequent such procedure with Dr. Rotunda. While he seemed attendant and caring over two sittings to complete the procedure, it was necessary for additional minor treatment by my referring dermatologist in follow-up over the next year. I was billed for some form of general non-descript $300 service fee, not previously charged for such referred over treatment, which was neither submitted through insurance coverage nor included with the Mohs treatment later billed. On inquiry, the billing department indicated the charge was "voided", although I did pay it. The payment was never credited to my account and after over a year of objecting to the situation and receiving zero responsiveness, to avoid a collections referral I paid the total demanded additional Mohs procedure charges. While Dr. Rotunda may well be a qualified surgeon as acclaimed, from my experience in my opinion he is severely lacking in billing department administrative competence, and patients should most assuredly check billing detail, prior to simply paying and attempting to resolve apparent issues which arise - read more

I had a small pink spot on the tip of my nose. My dermatologist recommended MOHS surgery. One of my partners who has had a number of skin cancers removed recommended Dr. Rotunda as the best MOHS surgeon in Orange County. I went to him last week. What a caring physician with an equally attentive staff! He did the MOHS procedure 8 days ago. I went back the following morning to get stitched. (Another surgical procedure.) I went back today and the result so far is great! Everything is healing nicely and Dr. Rotunda suggests returning for a little dermabrasion if I end up with any bumps. I thought I'd be wearing a clown nose for a month, but instead, I just need to continue to treat the wound with a bit of Vaseline and keep my nose out of the sun. Thank you!! read more

I have been so nervous to get my lipoma removed and finally mustered up the courage to get it removed today. Dr. Rotunda is everything you would want in a surgeon. He combines a warm and thoughtful presence with exceptional skills as a surgeon. After explaining the procedure and putting me at ease I mentioned surgery I had in that area as a child and that the area is still very sensitive. He didn't brush off my concerns but instead thanked me for making him aware of that. Aside from a pinch that was totally expected, I felt nothing at all at the site. I received more than a few shots of Lidocaine during the entire process but was totally comfortable. When I removed the dressing 2 days later, it was hard to lookout the site, but I did. It reminded me of an archaeological dig where I could see each layer which was cut with precision. Dr. Rotunda is a gifted surgeon who truly cares about his patients. The staff made me feel very welcome. A wonderful young man showed me to my room and made me comfortable. He also gave me lidocaine injections and he had a very gentle touch. I felt as if I was in a lovely spa. Yes, Dr. Rotunda bakes for his patients! The cake I had was delicious. They also have a menu of beverages and snacks which was completely unexpected. I recommend Dr. Rotunda without reservation. I traveled more than 100 miles (round trip) for my appointment and it definitely was worth it. Dr. Rotunda also called me the night of surgery. As a professional myself, I tend to expect a high level of attention to details. Dr. Rotunda is someone who has an eye for each aspect of his patients experience - from the artwork on the walls, to the 'food menu' during your surgery, to the post-procedure wound care packets. I've had 2 facial Moh's procedures with him and most people I know can't see any evidence of the procedures (despite having half my nose removed about 8 years ago!). My only constructive comments have been about the scheduling process and the ability to reach a human in a timely manner. Scheduling a consultation and/or surgery shouldn't take a week. I think their office has worked on improving this aspect of their efficient Moh's machine. read more

I was referred to Newport Skin Cancer and Dr. Adam Rotunda for a MOHS procedure. I was terrified. The skin cancer is on my chest, a couple of inches beneath my neckline, a completely visible area.
