I consider donuts to be one of my many specialty subjects. I have enjoyed a LOT of donuts in my years of driving around this country. This shop shines brightly in a world of dim sameness. This is not your average donut shop. The service is as fast as you could hope for in the best donut shop in the region. The cinnamon roll is my personal favorite. They cook it a bit longer to a " crispness" you never get anywhere else, with a deep cinnamon flavor. It is special, just like the chocolate frosting they use. Deep chocolate flavor there! My family and I love Adams Ave donuts! Every donut we've had is delicious, but my favorite is the crumb donut, and my daughter loves the sprinkle donuts. Average quality. It's a popular place with the locals, probably due to proximity and no other options close by. It's a very busy place and everybody knows everybody. I was confused by mention of the Donut Derelicts, and realized it's a car club that frequents the place. They have a variety of donuts and a large variety of stuffed croissants, including breakfast croissants. I got the crumb glazed donut and the chocolate glazed donut. They were kind of dry and seemed like they were made days ago. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant and also the ham and cheese croissant. This place was awesome!! I kinda got carried away ordering 2 dozen donuts! Lol. Each donut was so delicious and soft and fluffy. The apple ones are great! I believe you can get a dozen with a "hole" for about $14. We also got specialty donuts and those were anywhere between $2-$4 I think. We ended up spending around $40 for 2 dozen but we also got a lot of specialty donuts shown in the picture. There were a lot of people getting donuts, and they were selling fast! My wife came here by herself the first time and they were out of apple donuts. I was glad we got a few. The inside is small but you can sit of you want. They even have seating outside if you want to enjoy your donuts outside. All the donuts were great and I'll definitely be coming back to try more! read more

Woah, this place is absolutely worth a stop if you're looking for some tasty donuts, filled croissants, and cronuts. I've driven by a bunch when dropping off stuff at Goodwill and am so glad I stopped. I got a raspberry croissant and it was fantastic. Raspberry filling throughout and a light layer of vanilla icing on top. All of the donuts had a solid amount of sprinkles and icing, which made my heart happy. We ordered through doordash and were given a refund- Adams Ave donuts is local to us and usually they are okay. Today was full on crap!! They also had several flavors of Cronuts (fried croissant donuts), cookies, and the classic selection of cake and yeast donuts. Kudos to the manager who insisted on carrying out my 5 huge croissants and tiger tail donut to my car upon seeing my cane. I brought some to my 94 year old mother and unlike the donuts my brother brings from other places, she said she lifted the box to put a paper towel down so as to capture the grease. Later when she removed the towel, she was surprised to find no grease. Ingredients and oil used is always fresh. The taste is never compromised. Not the friendliest staff. Have picked up dozens of donuts for the office, today was my third time. Never met with a smile. The donuts are good, no complaints. There are always the same older men sitting outside of the store. A few of them 3 times out of 3 visits have asked "why the hell" I am wearing a mask. This is a global pandemic last I checked. I've been avoiding Adams Donuts and Zubie's the whole pandemic because no one wears masks there, but after being double vaccinated for a few months and my mom being double vaccinated, I felt okay going in to my childhood donut shop. I still wore a mask and I was the only person there with one on. I felt like a few customers were staring at me, but the lady behind the counter was wonderful and pleasant and helped me out. And the donuts are even better than I remember, although selection is scarce at 10am. I just inhaled a maple bar with bacon on it and will likely come back for more later. Actually 4.5, but I gave the lean to 5 because they made my day today. I originally came by yesterday around 10 am because I heard they had a chocolate peanut butter donut. Unfortunately, that donut and a lemon filled donut were not available. They make them but they didn't have any at the time. Just my luck that my first and second choice donuts were not available. The guy behind the counter said I could order them for tomorrow which I did. I left bummed but optimistic for my visit tomorrow. Came back the following day (today) around 11 am to find my 2 requested donuts bagged and ready to go but with a mistake on the lemon filled. Instead of a regular lemon filled donut, a regular glazed filled with lemon in the hole part of the donut was provided. The guy apologized for the mistake and ended up giving me the donuts for free because of the mistake. Wow, what a gesture of customer satisfaction. Came home and tried both donuts after having some lunch. I have to say the donuts were EXCELLENT. Since it has been about a year since I had the original version in Westwood last year and they have since closed due to COVID, I can't say for sure if this version is better. This is definitely the best version I've had so far. A shop in San Luis Obispo is close but this one is better. In regards to the makeshift lemon filled, it was actually better than a standard lemon filled. This was a great experience. Staff was friendly and appeared genuinely interested in my satisfaction.
