Nova Lox Special WITHOUT l/t/o pickle

The bagels were Delicious!! Food: My husband got the mcbagel with meat on the Hawaiian bagel and he really liked it. I got the lox special without the "l/t/o pickle" and it was AMAZING!! Service: The service was nice and quick! The lady who took our order was so friendly as well. Ambiance: You order inside and then you can go outside to their patio to eat. They also have a drive through which is cool!

The coffee is what brings me here, but the bagels and service are good. It's very busy most of the time and small ordering area. The outdoor seating is great though. It's a nice place to relax while waiting if you're not in a hurry. We love walking over here for morning coffee and bagels.

Figured it's time to update this review so it's more recent! I got the Bagel C C A L P on Lightly Toasted Garlic Bagel with Extra Cream Cheese, Jalepeno, and add Egg. It was just like I remembered! Flavorful and unique with the lemon pepper cream cheese. The garlic bagel toasted was a nice touch. I would suggest adding the egg if you want to be extra full! Having it cut in half was almost two meals. Going to make this place a regular appearance when I'm craving bagels :)

F O O D This was my first time here so I had no expectations. The plain bagel was delicious: perfectly toasted on the outside and soft on the inside. But they were so skimpy with the strawberry cream cheese. I'm used to places loading it up, but you couldn't even see the cream cheese between the two halves. S E R V I C E I was excited to see a drive thru cuz that's not common for bagel shops (coffee shops that serve bagels have it but it's usually just heated, not toasted) but it was SO SLOW. I think there 5 cars in front of me but it took like, 45 minutes! L O C A T I O N The location is right off of Adams with a drive thru which made it appealing. But the slowness and overall quality of what I purchased (I got a smoothie as well) was not great.

Bagels are delicious. Service is great. I wish I had known about the 4% credit card fee though. I would have paid cash if I had known. I got the cheese bagel. There is an up charge for the special bagels. No sausage or bacon as options for meat. The place was very busy at the drive through. It was easy to order and the wait was not long to get food.

I placed an order. The quality of their food is always perfect, looks appealing, and the price is affordable.

Came in the AM, and they were packed! There were about 10 people in line, and we were all jam-packed inside waiting to order. The cashier was both taking and calling out orders, so there was quite a wait between each person taking an order for her to fulfill the people that were waiting. There are also a few seats outside, but they were all full when we came. There are a lot of hot coffee options, which I appreciated, but the coffee seemed diluted/ watered down, and I didn't particularly enjoy it. If I were to come back, it would only be to get bagels to go, as there is minimal seating and ambiance is a bit hectic.

bagelmania is the go to bagel spot in HB. i've been going here since i was little. everything is a good choice here, i go with the lemon pepper and avocado bagel tho. the line can get pretty long on the weekends so id recommend going early. they have a small indoor queue to order and a outdoor patio that's usually pretty quite and cozy.

Lots of option for bagels, sandwiches, drinks and coffee. Has a patio seating area. It can be abit of a line if you came the wrong time. I came after the morning rush but still had a line of 5-6 folks. Service can be miss-or-hit, but mostly missed for me since there is only one or two staff working and they do talk and take order and prep the foods so it just taking abit of time. The bagels are good and tasty, especially with cream on it. Check it out if you're in HB, since it about 5-8mins from the beach.

Always hits. Idk the guys name, but the guy who has long curly hair is always so pleasant to order from in the morning & very kin! They really have great staff & they're quick. A perfect way to start my day!

I just wanted to update my review regarding their egg mania bagel (egg everything). I went to another bagel shop and tried their egg bagel & learned that I personally don't like egg flavor in general. So for those who do enjoy egg bagels, the egg mania may be quite delicious to them :)

Barely any chicken salad -chicken was extremely dry and flavorless.

We were headed toward REI to grab some outdoor chairs and decided to stop at GHOST Sando Shop in Huntington Beach. I've driven past this place plenty of times and never really knew what it was. It also happened to be one of the only places open in the shopping center that early, so we figured, why not? Man, we had no idea what we were missing. We ordered the Melrose for ourselves and a Club for our daughter. Marco took our order and was also the one making the sandwiches. A few minutes after we sat down, he actually walked over and asked me, "Are you sure you want the pepperoncini and tomato on the Club?" My first thought was basically, uhhh... yeah, of course I do! Then it clicked. The Club was for our daughter. Marco had remembered that from our conversation when we ordered and knew that a lot of kids probably aren't exactly excited about pepperoncini and tomatoes. Meanwhile, Dad over here completely forgot to ask for them off. That might seem like such a small thing, but THAT is customer service. Marco wasn't just taking an order, collecting payment, and moving on to the next customer. He was actually paying attention. He remembered who the sandwich was for and took the extra few seconds to come over and double check before making it. Good looking out, Marco. Seriously. And that wasn't the only interaction we had with him. Marco was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in. He talked with us, answered questions, and even gave us suggestions on other sandwiches we should try the next time we come back. Nothing felt forced or scripted. It was just genuine conversation from someone who seemed to actually care whether we enjoyed our experience. There were only two guys working while we were there, yet everything was running smoothly. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was relaxed, the bright green interior gives the place its own personality, and there's plenty of seating inside along with a really nice outdoor patio area. And most importantly, the sandwiches were GOOD. The Melrose was a great first choice, and Melody enjoyed her Club, thankfully without Dad accidentally loading it up with pepperoncini. We also grabbed some Calypso lemonades, which went perfectly with everything. We originally stopped here simply because it was open and convenient. Now it's somewhere we'll intentionally come back to. There are thousands of places where you can buy a sandwich. What makes you remember a restaurant is usually the people behind the counter. Marco made us remember GHOST. Excellent food, clean restaurant, great atmosphere, and genuinely outstanding customer service. We'll definitely be back, and next time, Marco, we're taking you up on those recommendations.

It's a pulled chicken sandwich that is absolutely delicious--honestly, it's the most unique "actual" sandwich you can get in the area. The Perfect Order: * The Build: You have to get it on Dutch Crunch bread with no tomato. * The Flavor: The Dutch Crunch is amazing, especially with the honey on it. The sandwich itself is almost like a chicken sloppy joe--it's bomb. * The Perks: I love that they still include those little caramel apple suckers with the order. It's a signature touch that I hope they never stop doing. * Rewards: Their point system is very favorable. I frequently get free drinks, chips, or discounts on my sandwiches. The Critiques: * Ingredients: Like a few other spots, this one makes me feel a bit "off" afterward. Since the meat is tossed in sauce and they add more to the bread, I suspect there might be some MSG involved. * Pricing: Things are getting expensive across the board, and I feel like most places--this one included--are overcharging by about $3. Five stars would only be achievable if the pricing was more reasonable. Final Thoughts: Despite the price and the "food coma" afterward, the #111 is too good to pass up. It's a solid four-star experience every time.

When I first started coming to Board and Brew, I would have given it a solid five stars, but my perspective has shifted after six years of exploring other local options in the county. The Evolution of the Experience: * Ingredients: While the food is definitely better than a pre-made deli sandwich from a grocery store, it isn't exactly top-tier. The bread and meat are good, but as you try more specialized places, you realize these are fairly standard. * The Famous Sauce: Their signature sauce is tasty, but it feels like it contains a high amount of monosodium glutamate (MSG). MSG is a neuro-exciter that can make people feel overstimulated or unwell after eating it, and it feels particularly intense in this recipe. * Consistency: Both the Huntington Beach and Costa Mesa locations were great initially, but they now feel more like a solid, middle-of-the-road option. The Best Use Case: * Catering & Events: Even with a three-star rating, this is absolutely the place I would go if I needed catering for a birthday party or a large event. Their pricing and preparation for bulk orders are hard to beat. Final Thoughts: If Yelp allowed half-stars, I'd probably give this a 3.5. It's a reliable, solid sandwich shop, but the ingredient quality and the intensity of the MSG in the sauce keep it from being a five-star favorite for me anymore. Edit: The owner replied to my comment about how their food is high quality, but 6 years of taste testing says otherwise. While you may not add pure MSG crystals to your sauce, it still contains MSG.It is misleading to claim "No MSG" or "High Quality" when the sauce relies on ingredients that are chemically identical to it. For instance: Tomatoes and Tomato Paste: These are among the highest natural sources of free glutamate. If the recipe uses tomato paste--as many copycats do--it will test positive for MSG. Soy Sauce & Worcestershire Sauce: Both frequently cited in recipes for this sauce, these contain naturally occurring MSG through fermentation or hydrolysis. Nutritional Yeast: Often used to provide a savory flavor, it naturally contains high levels of glutamate.Hydrolyzed Proteins: Ingredients like "hydrolyzed vegetable protein" (HVP) or "yeast extract" are processed specifically to release glutamates. Legally, a company might say they "don't use MSG" if they don't add the pure additive, but that is a technicality. MSG is linked to various health issues for sensitive individuals, and just because many consider it "safe" doesn't mean it's healthy or non-harmful. If the food is truly "high quality," why rely on these additives to create flavor? Best Wishes
