This place is a true 4.5 star place. I decided to try to find a donut shop on my way to work so I could bring it in for national donut day. I found out that duck donuts is running a promotion for six dollars for six cinnamon sugar donuts. I thought perfect. I had two minutes to run and grab my donuts and head out. Little did I know, donuts are made to order. Giada hooked it up, knowing I was in a rush and with sugar and cinnamon coat my donuts as they were coming out out of the fryer. After letting all my clients grab their donuts, I ended up taking one home to work to share with my husband. We both agreed that re-frying it in the air fryer to warm it back up makes it perfect. We've been coming here since opening. Donuts are exceptionally good, never a disappointment. However, their prices per donut went up to $3.95 each one. The prices are lower if half dozen $17. Meanwhile, I had brought 3 of my children and spending almost $12 for 3 donuts just seemed ridiculous to me because as delicious as it is, it's a small donut that will quickly be devoured. Arrived here at 4:05 and the staff was nice enough to honor the purchase made through the app. To our surprise, our donuts were made fresh when we assumed we were just rescuing day old donuts. Our piping hot box came out in 5 minutes. We got 6 donuts for $6 through the app. It was a fun assortment of glazed, chocolate sprinkles, and a few other random flavors. I haven't had these donuts in years! This place originated from my home state of North Carolina, so I'm no stranger to this place. I forgot how good these donuts are!! I've been to other locations and had no idea there was one right around the corner from my doctors apt. Decided to treat myself lol. There's tons of free parking up close that they share with other businesses in the parking lot I was immediately greeted by staff and had a hard time picking. I went with a 6 box and I even went ahead and got some ice cream (they have about 20 flavors ) they also feature fan favorite donuts and they have a seasonal menu They also have the cutest rubber ducks for sale Please note this isn't your typical donut shop with tons of donuts premade in a case. It's all made to order. When I came there was no line, but I can see if you're pressed for time this being an issue during peak hours. Also, they are on the pricy side since it is a whole experience going and picking which donuts and watching them be made right then and there. I thought this was the coolest thing growing up in NC. So kids would love it here They offer a few seats inside I don't know if they are the best I've ever had. But it's such a cute spot. We walked into Duck Donuts expecting a pleasant experience, but were immediately met with awkwardness. The store was empty, yet the cashier--a young woman with a ginger ponytail--didn't greet us or even acknowledge us when we walked in. It felt uncomfortable right from the start. My boyfriend tried to order a donut and was met with a curt "Anything else?" that sounded more annoyed than helpful. I added my donut order, and then he asked what kinds of lemonades they had. Instead of simply answering, she dismissed him with, "It's right here," pointing instead of engaging. She also had AirPods in the whole time, which made her seem even more uninterested in interacting. There was no "Hi," no "Thank you," no effort to make the experience welcoming. My boyfriend and I exchanged looks because we both felt how off-putting her attitude was. First of all I apologize for no photos...I can never snap a photo before I eat one :/ I was introduced to Duck Donuts in 2019 or so when I went with my best friend, the one out in Rancho Cucamonga. I live in Cypress now since 2021 and was not able to find a Duck Donuts until I want to say early 2023 (when I was pregnant and craving sweets...particularly Duck Donuts lol). I found the Huntington Beach location due to it being the closest one in between my work and home, so I went in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't too busy, but the set-up was nice and the staff was very nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ended up becoming a more frequent customer this year around March when my now 1 1/2 year old daughter had swim classes at the Big Blue, which I did not see last time I was here at the Duck Donuts (I see a lot of the families come to Duck Donut after their classes). I totally forgot it was in that location, and now I go in pretty frequently. Barbee is absolutely amazing and could definitely use help because she is always bustin her booty taking orders, making deliciously sweet donut art, and being absolutely kind funny and friendly (not that she NEEDS the help because she is a total powerhouse, bless her, but it would definitely help her out).
