The lunch meals are the best. They have meat & 2 sides or meat & 3 sides. The sides are really good - true southern cooking. The specials (meats) vary by day, but usually always have some type of fried chicken - chicken breast, chicken strips, etc. Meatloaf, country fried steak, hamburger steak, BBQ pork. Salmon patties or some type of fish on Fridays and chicken and dressing on Thursday. They have a larger variety of sides during lunch, but not as many at dinner time. We were fans of Adam's way back when they were near Mockingbird. We moved from Cartersville years ago. My to go meal was the 2 BBQ sandwiches and fries as a side. I also got the baked beans as an additional side. I was disappointed at the quantity of meat on the sandwiches and ended up combining them into one sandwich. Baked beans were wonderful and the quantity of fries was over the top. I'll still go back. read more

It's not really a BBQ restaurant. They did not have brisket or ribs the day I came. Only soul food dishes. They should remove the BBQ in their name and simply put Adam's Soulfood. I dont think they ever sell brisket according to how the greeter answered me when I asked if they sold it. Also, i was able to look at the back into the kitchen area and no one had on a hair bonnet or gloves. Many had their hair falling into their face and were using their hands to continuously brush it away. This grossed me because its evident strands would easily fall into the food. Third - it was hot on the inside and there were quite a few people on the inside and no one had on a mask. Not the employees or the other customers. I was the only one wearing a mask. And the people were right next to each other. While Covid cases are rising in GA and many states are shutting back down. No thanks. Just ewwww.... read more

Came in for lunch with a friend. Wasn't too busy, service was kind of slow... but those ribs!!! Best ribs I've had in town so far but I'm on a mission to find more. The meat on the ribs slid right off the bone. They were very tender and juicy. Their bbq has plenty of flavor but I'd prefer a spicy option too. read more

Since adams was bought out it's gone down hill. Fries are mushy, on take out barely get any fries, croutons hard as a rock. They forget to put stuff in your to go orders. read more

Highly overrated. The okra was overcooked, chicken strips overcooked, cornbread muffin was cold (I had to request butter). The only flatware provided was a fork. The sweet potato souffle and peach cobbler were the best part of the meal. read more

I don't understand what the other reviewers are talking about, the 'cue here is awesome! This isn't a 4 star, zagat rated place with white table clothes, cotton napkins or soft tea lights; this is good, country BBQ served by soft spoken Southern women that gently touch your shoulder when you place your order. Their daily sides are proudly displayed on a board as you walk in the dining room. Several things had already been removed only peeking my interest on what delicious dish I missed out on. My order was simple, pulled BBQ pork sandwich, slaw and sweet potato fries. The food came out just as fast as I ordered it. I immediately covered my pulled pork with slaw and took a bite. The creamy slaw paired with the tang of the BBQ sauce and pork was perfect. On my second bite I hit a pickle and reached 'cue bliss! The sweet potato fries were crispy on the ends and crunchy in the center, the perfect fry in my book! I haven't had any kind of French fry in a while and I found myself dodging my friends fingers from attempting to steal one or two! If you enjoy cheap eats, delicious BBQ and sides made from scratch, Adams BBQ will hit the spot! read more

The only redeeming factors of Adam's is their dally meat and vegetable offerings and their service. They should take BBQ off the sign as I can say unequivocally that this is the worst BBQ I have ever eaten. BBQ sold at a grocery store deli is better! I love good BBQ and this is not it. The meat itself is ok but the horrible sauce they drown the BBQ in is dreadful. I have tried most of the fresh sides in the past and they are pretty good. One exception for a side is the baked beans...how do you mess that up? ...bad sauce. So, if you want meat and two/three then this place is fine. Great sweet tea and some of the nicest waitresses around. For BBQ, go a coupe of miles north on Tennessee Street and eat at Scott's BBQ! I tried the BBQ at Adam's 20 years ago when they were in the shack off Hwy 41. It is just as bad today. If you go there eat something else. read more

Typical meat and 3. The food is just ok had chicken and dressing it was ok, fried okra would not recommend it. Jalapeño cornbread was really good. Service was quick and courteous. So service gets a 5 star. Food get 1.5 stars. read more

Honestly I've been wanting to try this place for a year because it smells so good. Unfortunately the food was horrible, we ordered a pound of bbq and we made three sandwiches from it. It taste like crockpot bbq with sauce already on it, so it was super watery and doesn't taste smoked at all. The sides were subpar but better than the bbq. We usually go to Scott's and we'll continue going there since you literally get 4x the amount of bbq for the same amount (1pound) and cheaper. read more

The name would make you think bbq..but don't it is not the best thing there. They actually have great potatoes and hamburger steaks. Check the special board and try the banana pudding if they have it. read more

Wow. I couldn't wait to review this place. I think the best way to sum this place up is pre-made. If I had to guess, this place did not make a single thing from scratch, besides maybe the deviled eggs. The pork was like a sloppy joe, where they mix in the BBQ sauce with the pork. It's obviously not smoked or rubbed in any way. There's so much sauce mixed in, they don't even have BBQ sauce on the tables. The roll was straight from the grocery store. There are a few good BBQ options in Cartersville. I am shocked at how crowded this place got for fair-quality food. But, maybe I noticed it because I cook a lot off BBQ. I'm not impressed with frozen foods heated up. Put some more effort into it and fire your food distributor and do some cooking. It's obvious that there is no heart or originality. read more

Lunch was delicious! I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. It's was great! Son ordered ribs and loved them, hubby ordered country fried steak. We liked everything, I'm glad we gave it a try. Sweet tea is awesome as well. read more

Really terrible. Just very, very poor food. If you like soup-kitchen type of Sysco garbage, then you might like this. I order a smoked turkey sandwich, and I got a thick slice of a chopped and pressed turkey roll that might be served to prisoners. My colleagues ordered pulled ork BBQ, and they got what appeared to be mass-produced sloppy joes from a can. Just don't go. read more

What a wonderful surprise. We were traveling and just passing through town and looking for a place to eat lunch. It was a Sunday and we stopped to give it a try. From the time we came in the door until we left this was a wonderful experience. Warm greeting and were promptly seated. I really like the home cooking and that they have a menu with the selections of the day. Food was very good and the service was the perfect representation of southern hospitality. We will very likely never be back through here again but are certainly glad we stopped and would recommend anyone else passing through here to stop and enjoy some really great food. read more

My favorite place in town to get bbq!! Sweet tea is super sweet and old fashioned. The crushed ice makes any drink taste better too! My favorite thing to order is a bbq sandwich and fries. They also have a board with daily vegetables/desserts/specials on it. Very crowded during lunch time!!! read more

I am a local and I've loved this place for years. This restaurant doesn't do pit bbq, it's cooked with sauce in it and you will either like it or you won't. They have many other good menu items though with lots of good sides and desserts including banana pudding. They also make the best sweet tea in bartow county. Prices are great here, my wife and I can eat here and pay about $20 including tip. The service has always been good and around lunch time this place is always busy, definitely a good place to eat at a good price. read more

This is neither fast food or a 5 star restaurant. It is a family owned country vegetable restaurant plus BBQ. The pork is not canned but is smoked on the premises then pulled chopped and marinated in their sauce. They have the best slaw dog i have found. It is better than Scotts slaw dog Their home cooked vegetables are well seasoned and vary by the day of the week. The portions are large and reasonably priced BBQ varies greatly by state and region. Either you like their sauce added or you like to add your own. While I preferred Scotts hand pulled pork BBQ my friend from Dalton greatly prefers Adams as that is what he "grew up with" The staff is friendly and they are always busy for lunch. read more

Only tried Adams once, in 1999. Decided they weren't going to get a second visit as they couldn't cook a burger to order. Wait staff seemed to have a communication problem with kitchen staff regarding customer's desires. Wait staff needs to understand that a tip starts out at 15% and will go up (OR DOWN) depending on the service. It's up to the wait staff to make sure that the food coming from the kitchen is as ordered. BBQ Pork sandwich tasted like it was canned. Haven't been back since. We rarely give a restaurant a second chance to impress. ANY restaurant SHOULD be aware that "first impressions are lasting". If you want good BBQ in Cartersville, go to Scotts for casual fare. Great local spot for great food! They have been in Cartersville as long as I can remember. The Sunday menu is awesome - best buttermilk fried chicken breast (no bones :) ever!!! I love all the sides and the BBQ is great - I like to get it with the sauce on the side and add their homemade hot sauce. Banana pudding is to die for - just get there early before they run out!
