Cool place and worth the stop. They were shorthanded and overwhelmed but it all worked out ok. My wife says the meat and three were just ok. The real star here is the burger. I really enjoyed the half pound classic. I don't think the air conditioning was working because it was really hot when we walked in. Luckily they have a huge patio that was enjoyable. Let me tell you what! This place may look very unique, but don't let it fool you. Great food! Great service! The onion rings had a wonderful batter and pair that with their ranch... chef's kiss! And the pretzel bites tasted like it was pizza dough but were delicious! And so many!! I could eat them all day long. The burger was the BEST burger I've had in a long time! Marinara was very unique, almost a chipotle or fire-roasted flavor, but was great! The only reason I gave 4 stars was because of the greasiness of the food. Like most people I suppose, I go in to places with 5 star expectations. There was plenty of parking and the dining room seemed clean as we walked in. The walls were covered with pictures of veterans which was cool. The airplane theme was pretty cool, too. The overall atmosphere was great. Unfortunately, this is where things started falling apart. The waitress Kaylee was pleasant. We ordered a water and Diet Coke which were good. First thing when I sat down I noticed the table was sticky, yuk. I can get past that, no arms on the table. The menus were a biohazard. They were old, ripped, and stained and looked like they haven't been changed since the Carter administration. We ordered the fried pickles and they came out hot. The first bite - hot but very greasy and you couldn't bite it in half so one bite was half breading and all pickle leaving you with half of a greasy pickle breading. We also ordered a half pound burger medium rare with fries and my wife got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy with green beans. She got a fork, knife, and spoon for the potatoes I guess. I just got a knife but thankfully we got a big stack of napkins which seemed off but would make sense shortly. After the hot, greasy pickles we got our food. My wife's food was not hot. You'd think a chicken fried steak would be freshly fried but nope. The potatoes and beans were even colder. She had a bite of each and was done. On to my burger and fries. There were signs everywhere saying "Best of Georgia" but they must have picked them up at a yard sale. Although the burger was medium rare, it was not hot and it was served upside down with the bottom of the bun on top. Maybe that's there thing but it ruins the presentation. The flavor of the meat was good but it was greasy which can be expected with a half pound burger but it certainly was not hot. The fries were very greasy, undercooked, cold, and unsalted. Not good. I would really have liked to have a fork but the pile of napkins did the trick. All in all a disappointing trip. Honestly, a Burger King whopper would have been more to my liking. The owner came by and asked how everything was but we hadn't even started eating so we couldn't tell him. When we went to check out we were asked how everything was to which I replied "Chilly." $38.48, please. Sign the top copy. read more

We were visiting the area and decides to stop in for a couple of burgers. Pros: The burger and onion rings were good. Cons: Ordered grilled onions on the burger, they were a no show. The burger was not complete, as it was missing a "pie shaped" piece of the meat. It appears that the menus haven't been cleaned or wiped down in a while, as they were greasy. With much of the space devoted to Vets, you would think they would offer a Veterans discount. NOPE! read more

Had Sunday lunch today and was very disappointed; Service was extremely slow. I like this restaurant's sandwiches and salads but their meat and 3 menu is very limited. The country fried steak was mostly breading - steak was barely there. Obviously a frozen entree. The okra was good but the creamed corn was cold. Can't recommend. read more

Traveling on the way to a new city, we found this place rather unexpectedly, off the beat and path... but were so happy we did. What a super little joint. The entire interior is dedicated to vets who served. The dining room is covered with photos of veterans, and each photo shares their name and place of duty. It was really cool. And the food was excellent. I had the most amazing tater tots I have ever had in my life. And the rest of our lunch was equally scrumptious. If I lived in the area, I'd probably go here a lot. It was awesome comfort food in a cozy environment with friendly service... what more could you want? The outside of the place will attract your attention and beg you to stop and come in... but the honor and food will make you want to stay. Such a cool place! read more

This place is till trying to work out the kinks. We had a large group and service could have been better. We order appetizers but we were given only 4 plates and 4 silverware sets so we had to flag down the waitress. The waitress didn't comeback to take our order so we had to flag her down again. The open kitchen made the place loud. You can hear the cook chop and bang on the cook top the entire time. The old Schroeder menu options are here and I had the Pita Tosh. The fried mushrooms and buffalo wings were great. The best side was the half tots and half fried okra. Loved this and large enough to share. The Reuben had hardly any meat and lots of sauerkraut. Too much kraut! The kids chicken tenders are look like it was pre-frozen and were too salty. Gratuity was added to the bill so be sure to check this before you check out. I do like the fact that they honor our veterans. Photos of local vets hang in the walls and the airplane on the building gives the kids something to talk about. read more

I have to say this place was awesome! Right as you arrive the atmosphere was amazing. The flying bus out front and the airplane fuselages greet you with high expectations. Inside our large group was seated. We soon met the owner who took all of us veterans aside and took our pictures to hang on the wall. Super nice gentleman. I had the Philly cheese steak and fries and it was excellent. We were in town for the Going Caching 2021 event. I will definitely be back to this restaurant. A true gem of a place. read more

We came here today because we have 2 little boys and the outside of the restaurant was VERY appealing to them! It was fairly noisy inside which is something we look for in a sit down place because we have noisy children. The waffle fries were good, the burger was delicious. The waitress was very attentive and helpful, she was quick to take our order, it was accurate and she checked on us during our meal. The potato soup was a bit thin but had plenty of bacon on top which was a major plus for me. The calzone was a bit doughy but full of meat which offset that. We enjoyed reading the veterans pictures on the walls and are very glad to see them making a good effort to show them appreciation. read more

Sad to have to give this place a 1 star review... but it's came to this... the food is outstanding when you can finally get it... that being said, the servers are some of the works I've seen! They will seat you, then you have to almost beg to have your order taken a half hour later. Don't even think about a drink refill, or the young boys and girls who work the counter will laugh at you and give you a nice smirk in the process ( when the only thing funny is that if they would do their job instead of having social hour, you wouldn't have to ask in the first place!) As a loyal patron of this restaurant I want to know: What happened to the 1/2 lb sam burger? Used to be the best burger in north Georgia, but you mess with a great thing. You changed the bun which is doughy and instead of those nice stacked patties I now get a smashed pancake looking piece of meat which seem to not be that lean burger meat we all loved this one left grease on my plate. And since the patty is now like a pancake when I order that great 4 cheese burger I had to eat my way to the middle before I could find the cheese. Wow the sign outside is deceiving which reads "voted best burger". Was excited to try thier burgers. I ordered mine "Medium well" which I guess means burnt and dryer than dry. The burger was half cut open to apparently check the temperature? Half of the cheese was missing or melted completely off the burger. Worst burger would be my vote. Then the service or lack there of... We Almost left without paying the check as we Literally had to ask 4 times for the check. Horrible service. This wasn't the busiest time either, Sunday at 6pm. Im a veteran so I appreciate the veteran oriented restaurant but this was a horrible experience. Won't be back. read more

I despise Yelp, but I have to make an exception here because the staff and service at this place is just a piece of $hit beyond epic proportions. Outright clueless and ignorant staff. First time they double billed me for an online order. Second time was an online order during COVID. Order was not ready at the scheduled pickup time (but yet they had no issue whatsoever promptly billing my debit card!) and they expected me to wait in a waiting area by the front door- while seating customers. After about 10 minutes, someone walked up to me questioning me about my order, which they didn't have correct. I walked out the door. Took it up with my bank. I live right across the street from them. Never again. Pasquale's and the small diner are right down the road and offer a much better quality of service experience. read more
