The downtown cartersville food scene is banging. This is another excellent restaurant right in the heart of charming Cartersville. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our server was very friendly and we both went with the special for the day. The ambiance is kind of unique. I don't want to ruin it, but it's old school like with a technology twist to it. We ate at this restaurant, not knowing how toxic the environment was. First of all, the food is decent, but definitely not outstanding. We sat in the main dining area when something from the ceiling started dripping on us. In addition, the music is much too loud if you are trying to carry on a conversation. Very interesting memorabilia, but that is about the only selling point. Whoever the owner is appears to be giving a nod to the Jim Crow laws in a political way. The bathrooms show "Democrats only" and "Republicans only", and the whole vibe is pro Republican. Most of us have political opinions, but it seems very short sighted of this business to make it so blatant. We will never come back, and I've talked to a number of people who feel the same way. There are much better restaurants in the area whose owners don't interject politics into your dining experience. read more

Great retro styles place with the walls, ceilings, bar, any space you can think decorated with rock, blues, southern rock memorabilia. My wife ordered the n appetizer nachos for her meal, she couldn't finish them. They were huge, they did need some sort of a "wet" topping (queso, salsa, something). I had the double gonzo burger with Parmesan chips. If I had known the burgers were sure'nuff hand patties and thick, I would have only ordered the regular burger. I couldn't take a bite, had to remove a patty and eat it separately. It was cooked to the right temp, but it could use some seasoning. It was good, but just plain meat, no seasoning mixed in. Spent the day in DT Cartersville recently and stumbled upon Ate Track Bar & Grill. We sat at the bar and enjoyed drinks, fried pickles, and burgers/wraps. The service was nice enough, but the food and ambiance is really what made this spot for me. The fried pickles were crispy and loaded with herbs, making for a very flavorful app. The ambiance of Ate Track is also super cool. Tons of old school decor lining the walls, with something new catching your eye every time you look up. read more

We walked in at 12:27 PM on a Saturday in February to an empty restaurant with a half empty patio and were told that it would be a 30 minute wait for a table... we were too short on time to wait. I don't know what's happened here, but we used to really enjoy the food here. Their burgers were reliably great and all of their bowls (salmon, pesto chicken, and even veggie) were really flavorful. We hadn't been back in a couple of years but finally got a chance to revisit. The burger wasn't bad but also wasn't anything special at all. The pesto chicken bowl tasted nothing at all like I remembered. Boring seasonings, simple stir fry of some onions and peppers, and where were the yummy special mushrooms? Yes, there were mushrooms, but simple/cheap ones with no flavor. Boo. Also: $3 for a can of coke seems a bit over the top. The vibe at the place has always been a bit noisy and not particularly physically comfortable but I don't remember it smelling like stale beer. When we walked in I was transported to my college years when we were cleaning up after a party the morning after. Not in a good way. There is much better food just steps away - Coastal and Table 20 come to mind. One final annoyance: I'm cool with allowing everyone their political preference but it seems like bad business practice to post signs around the place disparaging one side of the aisle. read more

Right off the bat when you walk in, you have to endure harsh political statements all over the walls. I'd eaten there numerous times before and enjoyed it, but when I saw the hateful red-cap political statements my friend and I did an about face. It was just too much. read more

You can find Ate Track at 25 N Wall St, Cartersville, GA 30120. This is near the end of a row of buildings with plenty of free parking out front and to one side under the elevated bridge on the left. There is an active rail-line on the other side of parking so be aware that it may be blocked during certain times of the day. There's a handful of restaurants and many shops nearby, including two museums (the Bartow Museum has limited hours and is a quick tour, but the Boothe is well worth the visit and worth coming more than once). I've now eaten twice at At Track - both times the food was excellent and the service exceptional. The restaurant has a full-bar to the right of entry with high tables - I've eaten there both times. There's also limited seating at tables in front of the restaurant - may be worthwhile in the evenings or when it's not too hot. The interior is filled with music nostalgia with posters on the ceiling, records and album covers on the walls, a bunch of ticket stubs and vintage stereo equipment behind one end of the bar. The air is festooned with many different pendant lights for an eclectic look. Item's I've tried: * Parmesan Potato Chips - Fresh fried potato chips dusted with herbs and grated Parmesan cheese. Served with delicious cotija/blue cheese and vidalia bacon dipping sauces - these were delicious and remind me a bit of the Bleu Chips we used to make at the Buckhead Diner. Both the sauces are also offered as dressings - the blue cheese is actual, I believe a Ranch dressing with cotija cheese crumbles added - delicious. The Vidalia bacon is smokey and sweet - also delicious. * Fried Fish Tacos - fried cod topped with slaw mix, avocado crema, tomatoes, and cilantro. These really reeked when they hit the table but a bit of lemon (which I asked for - probably should have been a garnish) hid most of the smell. They tasted fine. * Fish and Chips - classic wet battered cod served with fries. These were excellent - so hard to find real fish and chips (they're supposed to be cod, dammit!). * Tequila Chicken - Grilled marinated chicken breast brushed with tequila lime butter. Served with jalapeno cheese grits and sautéed green beans. I liked this a lot but the green beans were a bit hammered - tasted fine just over-cooked. Our servers were great both times with plenty of tea refills. Since we had visiting the Boothe we seemed to get some stares and I heard a few comments about how we were "different" - just city folk visiting the lovely Cartersville. 1-Star Review (and that's being generous) My wife and I were visiting home from Arizona and decided to try Ate Track Bar after several locals recommended it. We walked in expecting a fun, nostalgic spot with good food. Instead, we were hit with some of the most bizarre, unprofessional, and politically-charged décor I've ever seen in a business. Right away, we noticed signs pushing extreme right-wing political views plastered around the bar. It was uncomfortable, but we tried to shrug it off and assume maybe it was satire, maybe equal-opportunity joking. Then we saw the signs by the restrooms: "Restrooms - Republicans Only" and "Restrooms - Democrats Only." At that point, we realized this wasn't humor. It was just tacky. In 2025, with the kind of division this country is already dealing with, why would any business choose to alienate customers like this? As a consumer, I don't need - or want - your political views shoved in my face. I came to eat, not join a rally. We immediately decided to leave. Ironically, the hostess told us a table had just opened up, but there was no way we were staying after feeling that uncomfortable and unwelcome. The saddest part? My wife is a well-known influencer who was literally excited to do a fun, positive post about this place. Instead, we walked out offended and disappointed. Why lose customers over politics? Why create an environment where people feel judged or divided before they even sit down? Thankfully, we walked about 100 yards down the street to Table 20, where we were greeted warmly and had one of the most delicious lunches we've had in a long time. Night and day difference. Ate Track Bar might be a "nostalgic" spot for some, but for us, it was a harsh reminder that not every business is interested in welcoming all customers. If you're looking for good food and a place where you don't have to decode someone's political agenda just to eat, keep walking. There are better options right down the street. read more

My better half and I were in Cartersville for business and decided to try a restaurant in downtown for a late lunch. I suggested Ate Track and we decided to give them a try. Upon entry into the restaurant, we were greeted by a smiling and friendly hostess. There are two dining areas in this festive place which is full of memorabilia from the 1970s. I love the play on words in their name as 8 track tapes were prevalent in the '70s. We were seated in the dining area on the right hand side on Ate Track. This dining area also houses their bar. Our server appeared quickly and was also both friendly and helpful. My better half asked about the steak sandwich and our server said it was one of her favorites. Based on numerous positive reviews on Yelp, I ordered the fish and chips. My better half's selection of the steak sandwich was the star of our meal. It comes with a selection of a side and is served with "Horsey" sauce which is a delicious horseradish based sauce. She is still raving about the depth of flavor in the steak sandwich Although many have raved about the fish and chips on Yelp, I found the breading to be too THICK and greasy. I will not order the fish and chips again but many Yelpers find it satisfying. It is served with tartar sauce. I asked if they had a remoulade sauce but our server said they did not. So I asked for a Horsey sauce and mixed it with ketchup to make my own Remoulade sauce. The chef may want to copy my sauce creation and offer it to diners. All in we really enjoyed our first trip to Ate Track and recommend that others give them a try when you are in Cartersville. read more

On a day trip we stumbled into this great little spot for lunch. If you like good rock music, it's playing in the background all the time! The decor is retro rock and older stereo equipment populates the walls. Well enough about the decor. The menu offers a broad selection. Daily specials such as Jerk Salmon tacos are not uncommon. The waitress was very pleasant and easy to speak with. Great customer skills. If in town, make sure you come by and try this for a real treat. Very disappointing experience. Service was rude and not personable. There were strange and strict house rules (limit your stay to an hour, no paying for other tables, no visiting other tables, etc.). Other guests were told they couldn't sit on the open patio unless they had a dog, which made no sense cause the patio was open. We found a hair in our food. The chef/GM asked if everything was okay and walked away before we could respond. Then to top it all off the waitress gave us the complete wrong check that for a different table that was $20 over our actual total. Overall, not welcoming and not worth returning to. read more

The food and servers are good. However, the owner left a terrible impression. My husband and I sat outside with our 2 year old. We sat past the gate which the server let us know we couldn't have alcohol out there which was perfectly fine bc we don't drink and our 2 year old was with us so even if we did drink we wouldn't be drinking in front of our kiddo. Service was great. The owner came out to argue with a bunch of men who had came from construction work to get a bite. Saying that they dirtied up the outside and should get "fast food". This place is literally a bar and grill not a 5 star restaurant lol. He then proceeded to follow them out past the gate where we were - get in their faces while they were walking out and loudly argued right by us and our 2 year old, I was terrified if it broke into a fight because it was so close to our child. Not to mention he was cussing at them (again in front of a toddler) . The construction workers seemed nothing but polite. Many families I know are in construction and are wonderful people and to make someone's experience bad bc their shoes were dirty and they sat on the OUTSIDE patio is wild. It says a lot about the character of the owner to get in another persons face like that. In front of other customers and children. We will not be back. Again this has nothing to do with servers or food both were great and we still tipped normally as they did a good job taking care of us - the owner was the issue. read more

Giving 2 stars because I had one of the worst interactions I've ever had at a restaurant. My mom and I went up to the hostess stand to ask a simple question after we had already put our name down, and the girl working there was shockingly hateful. She rolled her eyes and spoke to us in a tone I've truly never experienced before, it was incredibly upsetting. We almost left right then and there, but decided to stay. Thankfully, our meal was great and our waitress was lovely. Still during our time there, that same hostess continued being rude to other guests throughout the night, which was really disappointing to watch. I'd love to come back, but honestly, I have a genuine fear of interacting with her again. And I bet other guests feel that way too. read more

"If it's too loud, you're too old". Bring your tastebuds, and maybe your earplugs to Ate Track. Take a walk back in time to those days when Radio Shack ruled the stereo market. Meanwhile back at the menu, enjoy some drafts or a fun cocktail while deciding which extravagant appetizer you'll splurge on: level 1 Parmesan Potato Chips, Level 2 Track Nachos, Level 3 Lobster Quesadilla. All you salad people will be thrilled with the roasted beet, fig, & goat cheese; done. Disclaimer: it has beets and goat cheese. Okay fine go with the standard romaine wedge or Ate Track for less of an adventure. On to the main event: I forgot to mention you'll need some "market" familiarity since lots of items (even burgers) are priced at "MKT". But let's all not freak out because a burger at market price isn't breaking the bank. Not to argue with those who think we could just know "the price", but maybe it's a desire to keep the menu reprints to a minimum. Spoiler alert: currently your burger's in the $11-12 range including a side, so we can safely put that in the $$ category. Undaunted, I picked guacamole and sweet potato fries, and was stuffed. Okay enough of that, let's move to the surprisingly large taco menu: grilled, grilled shrimp, chicken, steak, sloppy, po boy, and on and on. My wife decided chipotle chicken rung the bell and wasn't disappointed. Specials include salmon, crab cakes, tequila chicken. Our friends picked the bowls (bayou blackened salmon and pesto chicken) and loved. We all left full and hoarse (keep in mind conversation amidst the blaring music with 2 seconds reprieve between tracks). This is the best meal that I've had in a long time. But I deduct a star because, as another Yelper claimed, this place is loud. Even outside! (Raucous music blared from the speakers competing with a live band that performed next door. A cacophony of noise!) Now I didn't shoot a picture -- I should have -- because I ordered something I photographed last September: citrus grilled salmon. The portion of fish was bigger than before, and simply put: perfect. Prepared rare as requested, lightly blackened and served with jalapeno cheese grits and sautéed spinach. Every bite was a burst of flavor! One wouldn't think that a place like this is chef-driven. But it is! Like every restaurant in the throes of the pandemic, they seem to be a bit short on help. So be prepared to wait, even if you see free tables. Manager tried to fight me and my father, from what I've read from the other reviews I'd say this isn't the first time it's happened. We're working down here and we decided to grab lunch here with our employees were working in some mud so obviously we're not sparkly clean as soon as we walk in to ask for a seat he told our employees "you don't have any where to wash off at" in my eyes there's a polite way to go about asking to get a little cleaner before coming in. So we waited outside and asked the hostess to sit out there since we were in the middle of a work day after the rain. We ate our food then as me and my father waited for the bill to come we saw the manager across the street just keep staring at us. He finally came back towards the restaurant and muttered something to us as he walked in the door. A few minutes after he came back outside with a bad attitude and a disinfect bottle and proceeded to act like we were second class citizens. My father said you don't have to worry about us coming back and that's when the manager started flipping out on us and getting in our face saying what are you gonna do about it. I'd say in the hospitality business you should probably start out with some hospitality. If you work a blue collar job I wouldn't come here the manager said he does more in a day than any of us do. Overall one day he's gonna find the person that doesn't have the self restraint to knock him down a peg or two. I hope it's soon because he doesn't have an ounce of respect for his paying customers.
