House Salad with the house, hot bacon, honey, mustard dressings
    Kevin H.

Visited for the first time. We were favorably impressed. Greeted immediately and taken to a table right then and there. Bust Knight we just happen to walk in at the right time I guess because all the tables were filled. Our server came to the table within a minute and took her drink order came back served. The drinks took our generator. I mean at this point everything was perfect. You couldn't have asked for anything more. I don't think. I had the house salad for an appetizer and we ordered the filet mignon and the ribeye steak for dinner. Both were very good.. It was a generous size ribeye for $46 and that's middle range these days for steak certainly not expensive. The restaurant is small. It's not very large and people are sitting very close to each other but the very high ceilings kept the noise at a minimum and talking to your dinner, companion was easy. He didn't have to strain to hear or yell for them to hear you. Overall, I'd say it was a very enjoyable experience. The food was good (not great but good) , Service was very good and the meal went off without a hitch. I would ignore all the negative views and give it a shot and decide for yourself. That's what I did and I'm glad we did.

Shrimp bisque (good but light on shrimp or shrimp flavor). Very good Miracle mushroom soup with puff pastry in background.

After never having a bad experience over many years at Appalachian Grill, last night was a swing & a miss. To be fair, the food was actually mostly good and the ambiance is still nice, except for some odd smells from the kitchen at times. Anyway, it was a 30-min wait - not surprising given the popularity of the place, but we did notice some tables sitting empty for a while. Staffing maybe? Anyway, we were seated & "M" promptly arrived asking about drinks & specials. We said we'd need just a minute but would start with water. She disappeared for a solid 10-12 min. We almost left but she returned & took orders. I got shrimp bisque (good but no shrimp pieces noticed or really no real shrimp flavor). Wife got the miracle mushroom soup with a beautiful puff pastry on top & loved it. We split the Gouda bacon burger with fries. We'd have each ordered full entrees but to sub a different vegetable on the fish dinner was going to cost another $2, putting fried haddock at over $30. No thanks. Mercifully, the soups came quickly but burger took another 20 min. as we saw food delivered to new arrivals all around us. Burger was good but the plank fries were ugly (with a big brown spot on top) & nothing to write home about. "M" again disappeared for long stints, eventually refilling my tea but never showed back up with my to-go tea before we'd had enough waiting & left.

He got the Prime Rib. I got the New York Steak. Very delicious.

Me and my husband went there. Saturday night 2/28. He got the prime Rib n i got a smoky New Your Strip. They both wher cooked to the right temp. Just the way we wanted. We will be coming back more n more.

The service was excellent, it's a nice Lil quaint place. The food presented itself well, it was downright pretty and looked well seasoned but unfortunately, I found the food to be a little bland. Nothing had a taste other than the small fish bread that came with the salad and the mashed sweet potatoes. I gave it 3 stars because everyone was so friendly.

My husband and I went to the Telles Museum yesterday for my birthday and stopped at this restaurant for lunch first. I have to say if it wasn't 1 hour and 45 minutes from our house we would be regulars. The atmosphere is rustic, unique and warm. Our server was Kim and she was lovely. Attentive without being intrusive. The food was DELICIOUS! I had the pecan crusted trout and my husband had the scallops and shrimp pasta. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. The town looks awesome but we didn't have time to spend there. We will be back and will eat here again.

    Key Lime Pie.... Amazing.

Four of us came to the Appalachian Grill for lunch. It was a first time visit, and we came upon high recommendations from friends. All of our meals were absolutely delicious & prepared perfectly! I had the Grouper with a Crab Cake. Others had Catfish & 1 had the Appalachian Grill Special. For Dessert we had Key Lime Pie & Creme Brulee. Our amazing server was Ally. She was very polite, professional and just a Sweetheart. She took excellent care of us. We also got to meet the manager & the owner Jackie. It was great dining experience for all. Highly recommend the Appalachian Grill for lunch or dinner!

Terrible attitude and atmosphere, average overpriced food. Not worth it. I'd rather eat McDonalds for the rest of my life than eat here.

We let him know that our son has celiac disease and it turned out that Nathan also has celiac disease. Because of this he was incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful in helping us navigate the menu and choose safe options for our son. Even better our son was able to connect with Nathan and swap stories about living gluten free which meant so much to us as parents. That personal connection truly made the experience special. The atmosphere is fantastic and feels like a true cellar tucked away in the basement giving it such a cool and unique vibe. It felt like a hidden gem and a really fun place to discover. I also had a gluten free apple cider that was made locally and it was hands down one of the best ciders I have ever had. Between the outstanding service the care shown for food allergies and the unique setting this was an unforgettable visit. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend The City Cellar and Loft to anyone especially families navigating celiac disease.

Service was friendly, fast, and genuinely attentive from start to finish. The standout was the Reuben sandwich, which was nothing short of outstanding. Every bite was balanced, hearty, and packed with flavor--easily one of the best Reubens I've had, sports bar or otherwise. Add in a solid beer selection, well-made drinks, and consistently great food across the menu, and this place earns a true five-star rating. Whether you're here for the game, the food, or both, this sports bar delivers on all fronts. I'll definitely be back.

Didn't catch his name but he's been there 2-1/2 years he said. Only knock, had to remind him a couple of times to refill my water. They no longer leave carafes of water on the tables as a regular customer complained it was unsanitary. A shame. They should just wash the carafes after each use. Anyway... I ordered a burger with an extra patty. No bun, with cheese, onions and mushrooms as I recall. Here were the two oddities. The meal was served with a single patty and the second patty came out 5 minutes later. Made me think they forgot. Also, the 2 patties were different. One was cooked perfectly and moist. The second was cooked a bit more (but not terribly more) but was dry. The asparagus was fantastic. I do recommend though. Cool spot.
