Highly Recommend! I brought in a very unique, high end Lexicon MC-1 preamp from 1999. There was a terrible popping/crackling sound in the left channel and slightly on the right. Basically, the unit was in a state where you could not listen to it. I spoke with the technician and he confidently expressed that it could be repaired. I paid the diagnostic fee and left with very low expectations. To my surprise, Adam's was able to repair it! This once $5,000 preamp sounded brand new, no distortion, humming, crackling or popping, just good, clean sound. So impressed with these folks and will use again. I'll also confidently recommend to my friends and family. Two last things, their pricing and helpfulness of the staff was amazing. read more

I would recommend. I use to work in a repair center so I know it's a lot of moving parts to get unit repair. Unfortunately wasn't repairable. Once the new year and christmas was over, they moved quickly to get a replacement out. Denon said it usually takes 5 to 10 business days for a replacement. It was a lot faster. I bought a Marantz Cinema50 surround sound receiver($2500) . After less than 6 months it started to distort sound . After contacting Best Buy where I bought the receiver (who did absolutely nothing to help) I contacted Marantz U.S.A who then referred me to 'Adam's Electronics' . I've been coming here for about 2 years now, maybe a little less. Currently, I've had 5 repairs done at Adam's, 4 cassette players and one vintage stereo. I hate to say this, but 4/5 of my experiences have been negative, but I keep returning because there's no other repair shops near me that even accept such work. Most recently, I had a cassette player fixed for $300 total. When I dropped it off, I filled out on the form that A: it wasn't playing currently, and B: when it was playing, it was only playing through the right channel clearly and that the head was misaligned. When I received it, it is playing, which is nice, but they didn't adjust the play head and still audio is only clear on one channel. $300 for a belt change and tire replacement? Not to mention, I did both of those things myself prior to dropping the unit off. Also, a cassette deck that I paid $250 to be fixed which stopped working with the same issue as it had before I dropped it off maybe a month later, I called in and the repair was "out of warranty"?. A different player which I waited 2 weeks to hear back on just to be told "we can't fix it for any cost, thanks for the inspection fee", but then after mailing it to a similar store in Vegas they fixed it for $60 and free return shipping. A microcassette player which again, I paid $120 to be looked at, and there wasn't even evidence it had been disassembled, much less inspected (the tape on the circuit board was undisturbed, impossible to replace if checking under the board. I understand that the inspection fee is non refundable, and is applied to total cost if work is done. But it seems the effort applied in that inspection is not guaranteed. I so badly want to like this place, and return for further repairs, but I've been given no reason to. read more

I brought in a vintage guitar effect pedal for repair maybe two months ago. I had just bought it and it didn't work correctly, meaning the effect was not as it was supposed to be. I figured this was going to be challenging to communicate and repair. I brought with it a schematic. When I picked it up, the documentation said it was thoroughly checked and a capacitor was replaced. It came out to $170, I think. When I checked it, the problem was the same. I was disappointed but I took responsibility for the problem since it might be subjective. I did some research and gathered resources from Guitar effect pedal DIY folks and in that process, I learned that the key component was wired backwards. I reversed the connections to match the schematic and it now works as it should. For this reason, I'm leaving a review. I live in abject fear of paying for repairs and getting back unrepaired things. When you are dealing with weird old devices like this, it tends to happen, and I try and expect that. In this case, I've determined they should have caught that problem. In conclusion, my review is for the people like me who have weird audio devices that need repair but struggle finding competent service providers. I think Adam's might be more for electronics that if they turn on, they are repaired. If you have a more nuanced problem, they might not reliably detect it. read more

Great place to have you stereo receiver repaired. From what I hear coming out of the vintage Advent 420s receiver it's great.

DO NOT take your repairs to Adam's Electronics unless you want terrible customer service and damage to your electronics. The whole process from dropping off my high-end digital cassette deck to picking it up took 17 days. I took my business to Adam's Electronics based on the positive customer reviews. It cost me a non-refundable $80 for them to assess the repairs. They told me that they would let me know how much it would cost to fix it in a week. Six days later, they called me and said that they needed to send it out to someone else to look at it. I called five days later, and they told me that their repair man would call me. I waited six more days, and still no phone call. I called the company again and they told me that they couldn't fix it due to broken parts, control board and cable damage. It didn't make sense because I kept my cassette deck in excellent condition and one day it stopped working. I'm so disappointed because I trusted Adam's Electronics. They damaged my cassette deck that I've had for several years. They returned my cassette deck in worse condition. This is unacceptable. They didn't have the expertise to fix it, so they outsourced the work. They didn't care enough to try to make it up to me or provide some resolution. You have been warned. read more

I'm posting this after a second visit here. My hubs is an audiophile with a budget so finding this place was great. The first time we came to bring in some Onkyo Receiver that was now obsolete, with a replacement that they no longer made. This was our Hail Mary. We had done some research and we're hoping it wasn't this part that was the problem. Unfortunately, it wasn't fixable and of course we paid a reasonable rate for the time it took them to look at it. Just recently we came in with our newest receiver, a Marantz, and it was under Manufacturer Warranty (keep your receipts y'all). We dropped it off on a weekend, they gave us about a 2 week or so to get back to us. Which is no big deal. The world is not going to end if we don't have surround sound for a bit. We get a call about a week or so later. They told us what was wrong with it. Apparently we might have almost used it to death during the pandemic. Something's might have burned out inside. The hubs picked it up and kind of explained it to me. It will probably be good for a while more. We'll take it back again if it's ever on the fritz. It will no longer be under warranty, so we'll pay to get it fixed before we get a whole new one. They don't have these kind of places anymore, we drove down from LA and will gladly drive back down again. read more

He was very helpful in talking me through some checks of remote. He felt like the remote went out, and ordered me a new one. He said it would have to be ordered, and would probably take a few days. My Nutone intercom quit working and is old. Adam's Electronics was able to fix the master unit and CD player. I installed it today and everything works great. Some of the parts are not made anymore so, they had to search for replacement parts. I am very happy with their service. I will use them again when I need electrical repair. I think the cost was reasonable compared to sending the unit to a Nutone dealer whose charges start at $700 plus shipping. read more

I took my 5-year old Onkyo THX receiver in for repairs, citing it would drop picture and sound for a few seconds for no apparent reason. The tech report came back that the repairs would cost a couple of hundred less than a new one, so I told the tech via their text to recycle my old one and I simply bought a new one with an extended warranty. Well, the new one exhibits the same problem but since it's under warranty, I contacted Onkyo and we ran the problem to ground - it's a streaming issue, not a receiver problem at all!! Since I never got my old one back I don't know if the Adams Electronics tech found a DIFFERENT problem that actually required a fix or not, but I personally don't believe in coincidences. Therefore, this is the last time Adams Electronics will ever see me in their store. read more

I highly recommend Adam's Electronics for their professionalism, honesty, and proficiency. I took my big screen tv in for repair and paid a fair price upfront for diagnostic labor to determine the cause of the problem. Bailey was the technician on my tv. After replacement of the main board did not solve the problem, the cause was determined to be the screen, which Bailey found was unattainable. I was only charged for the upfront diagnostics which I considered to be more than fair for the evaluation work I know they did; they did NOT charge me for the main board replacement. With a new tv being my only option, Bailey took the time to give me advice on what to look for technically and also recommendations on what makes to consider.
