I highly recommend Adam's Electronics for consumer electronics repairs. Two days ago, I took my Epson color printer to be repaired. The young lady working at the front counter was very friendly and professional and informed me that the repair would probably be completed within a couple days unless it needed parts. Two days later, I received a call informing me that the repairs were done. When I went to pick up the printer, the printer worked fine and a different young lady at the front counter was also very friendly and professional. I was directed by Epson customer service toll free number to take our printer to this location for repair. $70.00 just to "look" and then they said they can repair the printer for another $119+. Two weeks elapsed and no call from this location on the status of the repair. I made a call then to see what the story was and was told that there was a lot of work that already went into the printer but that "Epson was not helping them with their overseas support with regard to the software when the new computer mother board was installed." While the manager was very nice and did offer me a used Cannon machine they had for the repair cost of what the Epson was going to cost, the $119.00 plus the $70.00 I already paid up front, it still did not seem that I would get a reliable machine with a full warranty (only 90 days on the Cannon machine offered.) I feel taken more so by Epson customer service for recommending this repair facility then the location trying to do the repair. Shame but better to trash the printer and buy a new one with full warranty for only $325.00 at Costco. read more

I love Adams Electronics. I've been bringing stuff here to get fixed for 20 years. Yes it costs money to diagnose it. And if you drop it off they may not know if the parts are available. But they spend time figuring out what the problem is (and if it's fixable) and that time is worth money. The items I bring in are worth fixing, either things that can't easily be replaced with a product of similar quality or are too expensive to replace. read more

I took my Marantz pm 10 integrated amplifier, to Adams and after paying $125.00 just for them to diagnose it, I was told it was unrepairable and parts were no longer available for the unit. Both statements turned out to be false. This unit costs $8,999.00 new from Marantz. So Not believing them, I found another shop in LA, named George Meyers AV repair, a much raved about shop known for fixing very High end equipment like Krell and others. They fixed it perfectly, and had no problems getting the parts from Marantz. The repair cost me $789.00 So Adams was either inept and or lying about parts availability, or maybe they just feel comfortable fixing Low end VHS players. read more

Three times, I've brought my audio gear to Adam's Electronics and three times, they did a solid job. Recently, I brought my Sansui G-8000 vintage receiver in for repair. The speakers kept cutting out. I took it to another repair shop before Adams and they could not repair it! One of Adams repair guys named Duc did a thorough analysis and found bad speaker relay switch's and several knobs were dirty. He took care of everything and now my G-8000 plays beautiful music with no more issues. I think the price was also fair. I'd definitely take my valuable electronics back to Adams. Dropped off stereo for repair, was told I'd have an update by Monday (3 days later). Two weeks later, I called back after not hearing anything, still no update. Got a text the next day saying it was ready to be picked up with no explanation. Responded asking if my stereo was fixed, was then told the parts aren't available to repair my stereo. Cool use of $80. Hardly seems ethical. Seems like step (1) should have been to verify if parts were available when I dropped off the stereo and we could've saved me and them some time. Have two iPods that need repair, definitely won't bring them here. read more

This business (or an employee) purchased an item from us on Ebay to, I assume, repair a customers electronic device. They requested to return the item because "it was no longer needed." This is not uncommon as repair shops often have customers cancel repair services, we know this because we also run a repair shop. Upon receiving the item back, they had sent us a different item, trying to pass it as our own that we originally sent out. We gave them an opportunity to communicate with us by withholding 50% of the refund with a message that it could have been a mistake and we were willing to work with them on getting our original item back. But to no avail, we got no message back, furthering our suspicions that this was done purposely for the sake of repairing their customers item, returning their faulty one, and not paying a dime for it while charging full price to their customer. It may have been a sneaky employee, or the business as a whole is shady. Either way, people should be aware of this situation. read more

The technicians at Adam's Electronics helped me with an LG display failure that should have been covered under warranty (5mo old) yet LG denied warranty based on a photo I sent them. They simply dismissed my claim as external damage. I demanded an authorized shop visually inspect the TV and determine cause. That shop was Adam's. They really focused on cause evaluation and the result was internal damage due to component failure. They then submitted those findings to LG and LG subsequently approved warranty replacement. Great job Adam's! I truly appreciate your time and effort to help me when the manufacturer would not. read more

My center channel was out on my Marantz 7011 AV receiver . They quickly fixed it and returned it to me.

Took my unit in for repair, they charged me $110.00 to diagnose the issue with it, then said it was a $160.00 part and $240.00 in labor to fix it and proceeded to tell me the unit wasn't worth that, but would recycle it for free! I took it somewhere else and they opened it up and held down two buttons for five seconds to reset the unit! And that was all that was needed, Adams you should be ashamed of yourselves ! Be aware of this ship, I called because they where listed on the Denon website as a official repair shop and I decided to bring in my old 5k receiver for repair. At that point I was quoted 5 days to tell me what's wrong and 150 fee which would apply to repair. So far not great but ok. 5 days went by and no word from anyone. After calling few times for update I finally get a message they can not repair as they can't get parts for it. If you are a official repair place for denon you should know you can't get parts for this model and advise upfront otherwise this is a money grab. I sent my Denon AVRX5200W receiver to Adam's for repair of a faulty pre-amplifier output and no output on Zone 2. After a $120.00 diagnostic fee they reported that my Digital PCB board was faulty and they would have to get the board from Denon in Japan. COVID was already causing supply chain problems and after weeks of waiting I was told that the board was no longer available. They sent the unit back as unrepaired. After reconnecting the unit to my home system, I discovered that Right Surround was no longer working at all, pre-amp or power amp. Remember, the problem I sent it to them to fix was the Left pre-amp output: everything else of importance was still working before they got their hands on it. After talking with them, I sent the unit back to them stating simply to return the unit to the condition it was in when they got it. After a week they reported to me that the right surround was working as normal and it was my settings that were wrong. Got the unit back and nothing had changed. Fast forward to one week ago: I bought a parts unit on E-Bay with a dead power supply and extracted the Digital PCB from the dead unit. Installed it, did a factory reset, and guess what: NO DIFFERENCE! I then went online and purchased the repair manual for the unit and did my own diagnostic. The culprit was the Analog output board: swapped it out and everything is working normally. Interestingly, I carefully examined the faulty Analog board and I found the problem with Right Surround channel: someone had attempted to "freshen" the solder joints on the output IC and had shorted out the channel. The rest of the solder joints on the board looked factory fresh but the two IC's had been messed with in a very sloppy manner (IC ref # R2A1522OF, two are mounted on the board) No one else but Adam's Electronics had opened the unit at that point! The pictures are of the two IC's that had been messed with, the third shows the quality of the factory solder joints as a comparison. In short, I cannot recommend this shop for anything expensive like a high-end AV receiver. They can probably fix a vacuum cleaner but not much else! read more

I rarely post reviews, but this business really, REALLY deserves an A++ rating in my humble opinion! I feel bad that I actually put the manager (Scott) through the ringer last week! I purchased a reconditioned printer from their store, got it home only to get frustrated that I could NOT get it to work! I researched every article and recommendation I could find on the internet for this model, but in the end nothing worked! This went on for 3 days and many hours (all the while emailing Scott my findings each day and him writing right back with other possible remedies. On the 4th day I gave up and he said (pleasant as could be!) to just bring it back for a full refund - just like that - no hassle!?! There's much more to this story, but in the interest of keeping this review short just know that the employees there (and in particular, Scott!) went what I consider to be above and beyond what I've experienced with other businesses in this day and age - bar none!!! Terrible service and even worse repairs. They just rip you off get you pay just to look at it. Took my Bang and Olufsen for repair. Paid diagnostic fee, took them 2 weeks to get back with a price that was outrageous. Contacted one of the stores to see if I can take my dearly beloved unit I was told no. I had an issue with my TV. Given the price of new TVs I thought I would just replace it. I looked at the price and the labor to deliver and install the TV. Also know one could deliver and mount a TV for 3-4 weeks. I called Adams Electronics and they would come get the TV and determine the cost of fixing and if I decided to fix it the trip fee of the initial visit would be applied to the repair cost and the would bring the TV and remount it. The quickly diagnosed the problem told me it would take a week and the total cost was less than half the cost of buying new and having it delivered and installed.
