I was very nervous when my doctor recommended that I visit a laser place next door to his office. When it comes to skin treatment or face skin products, we must think twice. As you walk into any new office, the front desk's help is the first impression of that facility. She was very kind and patient about my concerns and questions. Then I met Ayat, a beautiful soul who shared her friendly smile, and at that moment, I felt I was in the right place. Since this was only the first consultation, I had so many questions. Then, I was introduced to Martina, an expert in laser treatments. She professionally explained the details. She also showed me how to apply products after each session. They are not pushy and like to explain what to do. Yes I highly recommend this place and plz try one time you will not be disappointed. After two weeks, I had my first session with these powerful girls who helped me through this process. Everything went smoothly, but I still remember some spicy moments. Another thing that I love about this place is its clean and elegant decor. The waiting area is very comfortable, and this facility has a large parking lot. After the procedure, Ayat educated me about my skin, which I never thought of before. Martina and Auat are lovely, and you feel very comfortable around them. Do not recommend. Went there in 2022 for a laser "Oil Gland" treatment. Didn't work at all, had to have a more painful treatment. Nice people however. Sent wife there for a laser fat removal treatment for almost $2000. Results were no change. Explanation was "Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't". Went back at the behest of my Dermatologist for a scar that he created after an oil gland removal. After 2 treatments and $900 not much change at all. Went back yesterday 11/22/24 for a third treatment and was told I needed a different treatment for the scar. Why now after 2 treatments? Also got a different reason why other treatments were not working. I walked out, not going back again! Very nice people, but I do not trust them. I will speak with my Dermatologist again. After some time and finally finding a dermatologist (Dr. Ogunmakin) who not only knew how to help me clear my hormonal acne, I needed to find someone who could help me with getting my skin to look even better! This spa appears new, clean, bright and beautiful. I've been here twice now. Moving to Houston I'm trying to find my "spot" for skincare (Microneedling/clear&brilliant/facials/etc.) Came here the first time just to check it out with a microdermabrasion treatment. It was fine, no complaints other than it being overpriced but that was expected in a dermatologist owned med spa. Today, however, I made an appointment weeks in advance & confirmed the appointment time the day before only to show up early and wait 30 minutes in a waiting room with no explanation of why I was waiting before I had to walk out to get back to work. I expect to wait at a doctors office for an appointment, I get that.... but why am I waiting for a skincare spa? The front desk receptionist was very polite and explained that the technician was tied up still working with morning patients in the dermatology clinic next door. A spa, med spa or not, should not have customers waiting for medical patients. read more

She rectified an error in my serum formulation for me with an apology, immediacy, and a warm smile on her face. I had very high expectations of Adara spa, as I was referred by my dermatologist in the same building. I had a facial peel (Peel IV product was used) and had planned ahead to be home for a week over the holidays while my skin peeled (it's like recovering from a sunburn). The purpose of the peel was to address age spots on my face/neck/shoulders. I've had this type of service at a med-spa in New York- and knew what to expect- some discomfort, a few days of peeling, and smooth fresh skin revealed. Instead, this was my experience- and in all fairness, I both called and emailed the spa to share my disappointment and did not get a response from either time I reached out. Had I gotten a response I would not be posting this review. - the spa did not notify me of pre-procedure steps (ie, don't use Retin-a for a week prior). I already knew this having had this done previously. - the aesthetician applied the product to my face after cleaning it- but neglected to protect my eyes by covering them. - the product was then applied to my shoulders with no cleansing/prep - I was rushed out the door (solution on my shoulders still wet, sticking to an ruining my silk blouse). Total time in chair 5 minutes. - I waited 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 days pass- no peeling - I followed all home care instructions with the products supplied - supplied products have clogged my pores, leading to a massive breakout (my skin was clear of blemishes before the peel) - age spots remain uneffected - I reached out to Adara- no response. I was planning on doing other services there (which I expressed, and still no response) I would have been much better served to do nothing or spend the $300 on a few facials. The space was admittedly beautiful and the staff was very nice- however, I will not be back. read more

I had a very bad experience with my 4th IPL treatment. I was at their open house when the first opened and was quoted a price for the services I wanted. I had no issues with my first 3 sessions. After the 4th session I was advised that I had been quoted and charge incorrectly for the first 3 sessions and the new price was 80% higher. There was no attempt to make any adjustment or apologize. A few days later I called to speak to the office manager and left her a voice mail message. Her assistant returned the call and was appalled at how I had been treated. She assured me I would hear from her boss. I never did. In all fairness I must state that I was very please with the services provided; just not the excessive price increase and the way it was handled. read more

Adara Medical Spa and Houston Skin Associates are not what they used to be years ago. On my last Clear and Brilliant I got burned and got a scar. On Tuesday I had an appointment for another treatment (wanted to give it another chance) and was told the numbing cream would be left on me for 20 minutes and I waited over 30 minutes with numbing cream and no one checked on me.... So I asked and they said they would be with me and I just kept waiting.... A spa is supposed to be relaxing, and fun!!! No one offered me a beverage, no one checked on me to see if I needed anything while I waited 40 minutes with numbing cream. When I asked about the wait no one apologized at all for example: I apologize for wait, nothing. I am willing to pay for this treatment but would rather the experience be a positive one. There are many other spas in the Houston area and all of them are friendlier than this place! I walked out of the appointment after I had waited for about 50 minutes..... with my face full of numbing cream. The numbing cream was giving me a headache, it was left on tooo long and I was having a reaction to it and was feeling really sick! I told the receptionist I wasn't feeling well. Do you think someone called me to see if I was alright? Do you think someone called me to see if I had a bad reaction to numbing cream? Anything? NO! I washed it off the best that I could and I felt physically sick from smelling it all that time and from it being on my skin tooo long.... I was sick and felt that way until the next day. I have started feeling better thankfully and I will look for a better place that wants my business. read more

I was totally blown away when I first came to Adara. I trusted them to recommend treatments to achieve my skin goals and a chemical peel was recommended to me. I ended up with horrible burns and subsequent scarring on my face and was promised that they would help with treatments to fix my scarring and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I had an initial IPL treatment that did not solve the problem and have since had trouble even getting a hold of the clinic to follow up about a plan for subsequent treatments. There has been a change in management recently and I understand transitions are difficult but the clinic should take responsibility for what was promised to me and that has not happened. I am left on hold and trying to make appointments to deal with adverse consequences of treatments and it's incredibly frustrating. The front desk staff has told me numerous times that someone from the clinic will call me back but I have not yet received a call and have had to call back 3 times just to leave messages about my unresolved issue. read more

I wish I remembered the wonderful receptionist's name who checked me in, but she was fantastic, both before and after my procedure. I have never had a microdermabrasion procedure and Taryn was absolutely amazing. She asked me really pertinent questions: wanted to know what I was doing for my facial routine, what I expected from the procedure, etc. And she walked me through the whole thing. It was awesome. Even my roommate noticed that my skin was great looking and I didn't even have on makeup. So after this experience, I've already planned my next microderm procedure with Taryn. I informed the esthetician that I felt a burning sensation on my skin when she was applying the chemical peel substance she passed it on my face twice and assured me the burning feeling was normal. This had never happened in the past when doing chemical peels with Taryn the precious esthetician that was there. It's been 6 days now and I have burning spots and scabbing all over my face which never happens to me when doing chemical peels. I have done chemical peels plenty of times and had never experience this. It is painful to smile or eat. I am very disappointed and will not be going back. My face has spots that are burnt and it's painful but mostly I am embarrassed to go out like this. It is unbelievable that they have people working there that do not know what they are doing. I had been going to Adara for over a year and had several Botox treatments at that time. After my most recent experience, I will never return. Dr. Sra administered my Botox and I started bleeding and bruising immediately. By the time I went to bed I had large and visible bruises at several injection sites. I have never experienced anything like this previously. I contacted the spa and basically, they told me it was probably my fault for having consumed wine or aspirin. Really? I'm sure I've had a glass of wine before or after every other previous procedure and never experienced anything like this. I continued to contact the spa to get some kind of satisfaction for the badly done Botox job. I got the run-around, until they finally stopped returning my calls. I had visible bruising for nearly 10 days afterward. I even emailed them photos of my faces, as posted on this site, so they'd know what I was dealing with....and they still ignored me. I paid $750 for this treatment!! That's not chump change to me! And had to hide my face for a week before I could cover the bruises with makeup. There are far too many places in Houston to take a chance on Adara messing up your procedure. Had they just taken the time to make me happy, I would not be posting this. That should say more about Adara then the bruises they left on my face! read more

Ronnie is the best! I have had botox twice from her and can say that she definitely DOESN'T DILUTE her botox treatments. I am always happy with her results. I tried another practice who advertises on groupon and had to go back 4 ( yes... 4 ) times before I was finally somewhat satisfied with the resuts. This place is very legit and professional and want to see you get the best results. I also had my first TCA chemical peel with Ronnie and have been getting compliments daily on how great my skin looks. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone in the office!! In addition: I've also been going to Dr. Tyring for 2 years. As a dermatologist he and his associates are amazing. He was able to clear my skin up in less than 4 months and came up with a great maintenance plan. After trying 2 other groups here in Houston and after 3 years of no results before visiting Dr. Tyring, I had accepted that my acne was to stay. My first visit was with Elizabeth, friendly and professional. Then Randy (apologies if I misspelled), took over weekends which are the only times I could make it. She just oozes happiness and seemed very passionate about her work. I feel very safe in her care. The place overall is great. There was a miscommunication on my appointment, partly my fault. But they are gracious to call me up to offer a free makeup session for the miscommunication. That really impressed me on how stellar their customer care is. The place offers great ambience.
