This place is great for threading. I've been going there for a few years and Lubi is the girl who takes care of me. I've also sent a few friends and family and they loved it too. It does hurt more during certain times of the month for girls, but for the most part it's not so bad....and definitely worth the $6 you pay for it. They take cc payment only over a certain amount and I believe it's $10. read more

So the day before eid, my mother, sister & I went to go get get henna done. The design was beautiful and the girl doing the henna was so sweet. We all were so excited. My sister and I waited 5 hours each, my mother 8. Now I've put on henna several times before and if you wait even 2 hours, the color is still pretty dark. As soon as my sister & I washed our henna off, we were completely dissapointed. It was the lightest shade of orange and honestly looked as if I had put it on for 5 minutes and washed it immediately off. Same exact thing happened to my mother. Instead of putting their best henna on their clients, they put their oldest and worst. Never coming here again. I've told everyone I know in that area to never come there. I've been coming to this salon for almost 5 years now, and refuse to let anyone else thread my eyebrows! Sana and her daughter are wonderful people to have conversations with and they truly do care for their customers. No, not EVERY TIME I come here, my brows are *perfect*, but people need to realize that hair grows in differently each visit, and there are going to be various experiences from time to time. Short version: If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Three days later, my skin is still itching, and I have a scar! Don't waste your money! Longer version: This was my third time at this salon. My first experience was OK, the second one was disappointing, and today's was the worst. The girl who did my threading was new to the salon. (I don't know her name, but she had short, blondish hair.) My eyebrows are uneven--one is much thicker and longer than the other. She did my threading in such a hurry, even though there was no one else waiting. The worst part was that she yanked so hard, that she nicked my face three times. It was as if someone cut me! A little soreness is normal, but this was actually painful. It was hurting for several hours later, and three days later I have a scar under my eyebrow. That girl should not be allowed to go near anyone's face! To add insult to injury, in addition to the mismatch in length and thickness, she missed several spots. Several posters raved about Lubi, and I specifically requested her the second time I was there. She did an average job at best--same issue, did a rush job, even though no one else was waiting. It's not a fancy salon, which is fine. But it does not seem very sanitary. They do not wash their hands or use hand sanitizer between clients--at least the new girl didn't. When I called to offer my feedback, the girl was so rude and condescending. (It was the same girl who worked on me, not Lubi.)- No offer to fix her mistake or anything. I went it for a simple eyebrow clean up. The girl paid no attention to detail and clearly had no experience. Garbage.

I will never go back to this place again. This was my first visit to Sophisticutz and they ruined my brow shape. I did eyebrow threading and upper lip threading. For the upper lip part, there were a lot of chunks which the lady didnt take care of. Wen I pointed that out to her,she removed it once.When I again showed her some other chunks, she said the hair is too small to remove by threading and seems she cannot see them!! I have done threading a lot of times before and never faced this issue. And why am I going to tell her repeatedly for changes, if she had done her job well at the very first instant. Regarding the eyebrow threading, my right brow is now thinner than the left brow. My right brow has lost its shape and its so damn flat now. I mean what can I do when she completes the job and then shows me the mirror..the mistake was already done and cannot be straightened. Moreover, the brows looked so crude. Crude in the sense that, one will get the same output if eyebrow shaping was done using scissors. The person seemed to be the owner of the shop but I would say that she is just a beginner in threading. When I was suggesting changes ( by changes I mean removing the extra hair that she was supposed to remove as part of threading), she quickly jumped over to another customer without even asking a single word as to whether I liked her work or not. She was not bothered at all. As other people have commented, they keep chatting in their native language and do not concentrate on the job. I am missing a couple of main strands of hair at the starting point of my brows and i feel that my face looks messy. I went there because of the price and the proximity of the place to my house. I will drive an extra mile and pay a couple of extra bucks to get a neat pair of brows done. I will strongly suggest not to visit this place. These ladies are rude. We are paying for a service and its their duty to ensure customer satisfaction. read more

Do Not Go Here. My sister went here and the staff was very rude to her. Additionally one of the employees kept telling her she has lice. Unless you are a licensed nurse you have absolutely no right to go around telling customers they have lice without proof. My sister was humiliated by those employees. I cannot believe that level of service. I honestly want to complain to the Better Business Bureau. I have been coming here since I was in high school. I've always recommended this place to my family and friends. Today a younger girl did my eyebrows and COMPLETELY DESTROYED THEM! I didn't even have the heart to go back in and complain since I was practically in tears. There is a middle aged woman who does an excellent job, and she is truly the only employee I would trust from here on out! My eyebrows are not in same level and she made it too thin which will take months to recover and worst is I am going on vacation tomorrow and this is going to suck. Had an appointment scheduled. I was told to call and confirm on the day of my appointment ( which is usually done by the salon NOT the customer ). When I called they said that the hairstylist was "unavailable" and had "an emergency". This was after putting me on hold for a few minutes. No one called me to cancel my appointment. Don't waste your time at a place like this. Go to a place that provides BASIC customer service. read more

Me and my cousins had henna and makeup done for a wedding here. Horrible experience!! They used black henna without telling us which most of us were allergic to, the henna washed away completely within 2 days which was a huge disappointment for the money we paid. The hairdo they did for me was very shabby and makeup base was too dark and melted away by the time I got to the wedding. This place is only good for eyebrows. read more

Have been here only for eye brows and upper lips bcoz its very close to where I stay. One of the girl did my eyebrows(don't know her name but she is always there); she kind of completed it in 3-4 mins and did not do a good job. I asked her to leave an arched brow but she didnt ( she is just not good at it). Since then I ensure someone else does it for me and it has been working out well. Last time I went there, a middle aged lady did excellent eye brows/upper-lip for me. She gave me good 15 min and asked whether I liked the eye-brow shape. So i asked her name; she is Binny(Binita). Omg do not go here!!! My left eyebrow has a HUGE chunk missing from where it should start. It is like i have 3/4 of an eyebrow. It is also half as thick as the right eyebrow. My face just doesn't even look right, and it's all because this young college girl was too busy talking to her friend when she should have been paying attention to my brows. And this is not the first time this place has messed up my brows. I've been here a few times because it's cheap and fast and conveniently located on my way home from work. I donor know why I keep going back. Eyebrows are a major feature on your face. When they get messed up, you look messed up. I recommend spending $2 more and going to a place that knows what they are doing and doesn't socialize while taking care of you. If I could give negative stars I would , this place is horrible !! I just moved to the area and found them near by so I decided to stop in .. I asked the girl up front for WAXING my eyebrows , and she was playing on her phone and told some other girl who didn't speak English to help me .. That non English speaking girl then proceeded to thread me .. I asked her a few times to wax instead but she didn't .. Then I yelled it and so then the other lady told her to wax and then she started to wax and poorer hot wax ALL OVER MY EYE AND EYE LASHES !!! My eye was stuck shut and burning !! Then she started to try to tread again !! She didn't do hardly anything to my eye brows and I started crying and wiping my eye that was burning and they didn't even care , just made some dumb excuse that they always wax and then thread and I was confused . The non English speaking girl then tried to pour Moroccan oil all over my eye which i am ALLERGIC to which they didn't ask if I wanted and it was a crazy mess . I was furious ! No one apologized and then they tried to charge me !!! They didn't even finish my eye brows !! They spent the whole time damaging my eye !! I had to go to quick care because I was in pain and having an allergic reaction !! Not to mention when they charged me I actually DID try to pay and the young girl at the register on her phone was like " oh we can't take cards unless it's ten dollars or more " and I looked at her and said " then I can't pay ! No one mentioned that when I came in " and she gave me attitude and said " ugh whatever it's fine then leave " like as if IM the jerk here because I got HOT WAX IN MY OWN EYE !!
