This place has the best white clam chowder. It is a sister restaurant to Rosas Italian and Vista Steak House. Great cod fish and chips and cob salad. We have been here many times and service is always great. Love sitting on the patio when weather permits. Good margarita too! read more

I discovered this cafe today and love it! It opens onto Adeline and it's bright, cheery, and artsy. The guy working there was working really hard and knew half the customers who came in. There's a great variety of breakfast sandwiches and lunch-type sandwiches. I had the chicken salad sandwich which was bursting with flavor. My sandwich and a drink were only $10. read more

Hands down one of the best banh mi in town. Bread is perfectly warm and toasty, the veggie & pickled condiments are cool & crisp. I love the tofu version (only $6.25!)The place is very clean, has ample seating, service is fast, and the owners are very friendly. I always get their house salad with tuna and hard boiled egg added! The tuna is super well seasoned and not overly salty! They add sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts + carrots too! I can't believe no one has reviewed this cafe yet! This cafe is conveniently located close to the Ashby bart station, which is how I discovered and frequented this cute cafe in the first place. The staff here is really friendly and very compassionate. They helped customers with patience and care. The drinks are reasonably priced and taste great! I recommend the latte. And the teas are pretty worth it for the price and variety. They also have items like baked goods, croissant sandwiches, and snacks. I've seen this place a lot of times as I'm scrambling from the Ashby Bart parking lot to make my Bart train. I went here with my friend after running super late for work and figuring, "Hey might as well grab a bite for breakfast." The staff was very friendly and the food was very cheap for what you get! I ordered the sausage and egg bagel breakfast sandwich. It came within 5 minutes or so and was very good. Ada's cafe is conveniently located directly across the street from the Ashby BART station, and seems like a great place to stop by for a quick bite on your way to work. They've got some tables and chairs if you want to sit a while, and a decent selection of bagels, coffee and sandwiches. They also had some baked goods by the register- looked mostly like repackaged things from a certain membership warehouse store, but good to have as another option I guess. I visited for breakfast and tried the Lox Bagel and Breakfast Bagel sandwiches. If I were to nitpick a little, the bagels were inconsistently toasted, but both were tasty, and I loved how the breakfast bagel had a mountain of egg on it. Decent prices too. Nothing fancy here, but a pretty good option if you're passing through and are in need of a quick bite. read more

Dayummmm first time here & I can say this is the best iced soy vanilla latte & slice of pumpkin bread I have ever had. That is saying a lot coming from me. The staff are super welcoming and attentive. Service is fast. It's conveniently located across from Ashby BART in Berkeley. I will probably go 4 BART stations out of my way just to get another one of these lattes in the future. Free wifi & plenty of seating- though I've never seen it at peak times. Also, there is cool artwork & an art studio behind the counter! Thoroughly enjoyed this surprise visit, will definitely be back. read more

Microwaved eggs are a pet peeve of mine, specially at a cafe/restaurant, if I want microwaved eggs I can make them myself. I paid $6 for a bland bagel with flavorless egg and tasteless cheese, all microwaved to perfectionwould have been better off at McDonalds or Starbucks. No love in this "food" either. Cool cafe! Just happened to take a yoga class and decided to check out this cafe located within the Ed Roberts Campus. It has a great selection of breakfast and lunch items- all kinds of bagels, sandwiches, panini, and salad on their menu. They also have other pastries, including candy (lots!) apples, bananas, avocado (interesting!). They have a wide selection of beverages including several coffee and tea, but I did not order one. I ordered a Vietnamese chicken pineapple sandwich which came with lettuce, shredded carrots, onions, and cucumbers. I had them take out the tomato and Jalapeño. The sandwich was $5.50 but because I had to use debit I had to pay extra .50 (oh well!). I am not that familiar with Vietnamese sandwiches but the one I ordered was delicious. The bread was warm and soft, chicken was tasty, a little bit spicy ( I'm assuming the pineapple sauce), and the vegetables were all fresh. This cafe is located in the first floor of the Ed Roberts' Campus on the Adeline Street side, right above the Ashby Bart. The name is a nod to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Right now the cafe is run by Nomad cafe as sort of their satellite site. The menu is very similar to their other location on Shattuck - lots of great Vietnamese sandwiches, salads, etc. Great coffee drinks as well, especially the Vietnamese coffees. The staff is so nice. Very friendly staff. Great place to go to before heading to the office. Clean and prices are very reasonable. The location is very accessible for me, it's inside or "above" the Ashby Bart station! One of the few breakfast spots is close to Ashby BART then I decided to stop and just to have a breakfast sandwich since I was going to be in training I decided to stop in I was not greeted I guess you have to be a regular to get good treatment there I ordered the sausage egg and cheese bagel sandwich which was $6 by itself no combo no drink or no juice it came rather quickly but that's when I noticed that they had use fake congealed cheese on my sandwich I also asked for jelly cuz I didn't want to just be eating a dry sandwich they told me it would be a dollar 25 more for jelly which was very strange so I asked again are you sure and the guy asked me to look at the board and that's everything that comes on the sandwich so I guess I was to eat this dry sandwich with no jelly the sandwich itself was good the bread was nice and toasted the egg was fake the cheese was fake course the sausage was just a regular sausage patty not worth the $6 that I paid next time I'll go to Jack and the box and get a combo with a drink hash browns a sandwich for less than six and get the same fake food I won't be returning too many other breakfast spots in the area to stop by plus the service was not up to par nor was the food read more

Four stars for a limited menu, but I don't know if I'd even be writing a review if the tofu banh mi weren't such a welcome addition to the neighborhood! As far as Vietnamese sandwiches go, I've seen full Vietnamese restaurants with sandwiches that weren't as good as this place. Tasty and convenient, this kind of food is sorely needed out here, and it's directly connected to BART - which means I'd love to see this place succeed and expand their offerings. I go in here with my son and one of my students. It's amazing ! The breakfast bagel sandwiches are super delicious !! I always get a white chocolate mocha and it's better than Starbucks no lie!! as a teacher advocate for children with special needs, this place just feels like home!
