We went to Ada's after reading an article on it being on the shortlist of hot new restaurants in the state. We see why and Ada's does not disappoint. We loved the approachable Italian comfort food menu with a lot of well executed traditional dishes, handmade pastas and pizzas. We started the night at the bar lounge on the retro furnished space that was moderately comfortable while waiting for our table. The place was packed even on a cold November night. We ordered cocktails off their list (a delicious negroni) which includes both classic and creative inspired selections. Both were excellent and served with a smile. The space is beautifully and tastefully decorated, with perfect light, good music that fits a fun, casual environment inviting to diners whether large groups or smaller parties and a nice bar/lounge area. Before too long, we were seated and started with the meatballs, chopped salad, panzanella salad and mozzarella & pesto. While we wished the salads had more volume, they were fresh tasting and flavorful, and the other starters were excellent. We ordered two pastas and a pizza, definitely the highlights of this restaurant, and within a few bites realized we were falling in love with the Italian cuisine that finally had come to Midcoast. High points of Ada's include an excellent, well priced wine list and overall accessibility and affordability of the menu options. Our servers were attentive and helpful though clearly still working out some of the new systems and familiarity with the space. We can't wait to come back (we understand they have a stellar happy hour during the week with drinks and pizza by the slice specials) and we look forward to Ada's being a fixture in the community for the months and years to come. read more

I recently dined at Ada's Kitchen and had an overall pleasant experience, though it came with a few mixed feelings. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual night out or a special occasion. Starting with the pizza, it was unfortunately just mediocre. The crust was a bit too doughy for my liking, and the toppings, while fresh, lacked that wow factor. It wasn't bad by any means, but it didn't stand out either. On a brighter note, the drinks were excellent. The highlight of my meal was definitely the Parmesan chicken. It was cooked to perfection, with a crispy, flavorful coating and tender, juicy chicken inside. However, I must say that given the quality, the prices felt a bit steep. While the food and drinks were good, they didn't quite justify the higher-end pricing. Overall, Ada's Kitchen offers a mixed dining experience. The fantastic drinks and delicious Parmesan chicken make it worth a visit, but be prepared for a few hits and misses along the way, especially considering the cost. read more

I don't typically write reviews but the experience we had last night was so disturbing we feel compelled to share. I am frequently in the area for work and have enjoyed dining here on numerous occasions. It has been a good place to bring clients given the quality cocktails and good Italian food. However, last night while enjoying dinner at the bar, our experience was ruined by a loud and intoxicated guest who persisted to yell expletives and racially derogative comments. Despite being clearly in an altered state, the restaurant continued to serve him and seemed to tolerate what can only be described as disruptive, inappropriate behavior. We were dismayed by all of this and looked around hoping someone would intervene. We noticed other diners visibly upset, with some even leaving before finishing their dinners. Not sure if we will return and next time, we will likely go somewhere else. read more

I have been to Ada's Kitchen a number of times now trying the various dishes. We were there most recently with our daughter that was home from school. She is a vegetarian and had the Spinach Ravioli Special. On another occasion, my other daughter tried the Butternut Ravioli and loved it too. Portion sizes and taste both times were right on. My husband had the Carbonara which was delicious! The pasta specials are always good and flavorful and perfect portion sizes. The large pizza is LARGE so you will have leftovers. For a smaller meal, the meatball side with salad is a good fit. If you arrive during the Blice (slice of pizza and beer) Happy Hour, it is busy and a little loud so if you want a quieter evening, you may want to come a little later. Fun vibe! Enjoyed a fabulous meal and beautiful cocktails with friends tonight at Ada's Kitchen opening night. Finally downtown Rockland now has a delicious pizza and comfort Italian restaurant with affordable prices in an ambiance that is fun, welcoming and great for everyone whether a large group, on a date night, or riding solo at the bar. We had a great dinner and even though it was their first night, it seemed that the team at Ada's, both chef and front of house, is seasoned and professional. We shared the fresh mozzarella and pesto, eggplant parm, chopped salad, ragu and ravioli pastas and a Margherita pizza. Pro tip: their happy hour is awesome, with great drinks, cheap glasses of wine/local draft beers, slices of pizza, and other surprises. Also don't miss Siddharta's pasta. For it being my first experience at Ada's I was thoroughly impressed. I enjoyed the atmosphere that they have created there and I think the sound acoustics are great. It has a a place for a more quiet meal and a bar and lounge area for a more lively meal and/or drink. I ordered the calzone and the aglio e olio (special order: garlic and oil pasta). The calzone was baked to perfection! The pasta was served al dente which was impressive. That is very hard to find in the restaurant industry. Flavorful and robust. Just a great dinner! To start ,Creative cocktails!(thanks Stacy) The lounge and Bar were friendly and inviting . We followed our time at the bar with table service.The Family style Pasta (Ragu) was just Fantastico! Every morsel ,perfectly prepared.We loved the meaty delicious red sauce on home made pasta,scrumptious ! Great authentic home made pasta,pizza,salad...often daily sea food pasta specials,nice selection of salads, appetizers and meat and cheese boards . Great Bar and Bar tenders....Very nicely decorated comfortable for couples families .Lounge is cool,stumbled into an evening of live music, add about the best pannacotta I have ever tasted and you have Ada's Kitchen A gem on the north end of Main Street. read more
