Absolutely delicious food with fast and friendly service. My group had the Addi's combo w/ an additional meat combo; this was a perfect serving for three (hungry) individuals. The meat was tender and everything was incredibly flavorful. I would absolutely return when I'm in the area next!

I have been wanting to try this place since the start of the year. I'd never had Ethiopian cuisine but had heard a lot about it and have always wanted the experience. My sons treated me for my Bday and I absolutely loved it. I failed to get my server's name or she may have refused to give it to me. I think I got on her nerves with all of my questions, lol. We arrived just after opening. It wasn't too busy but a second server would've speeded things up a bit. Fish Goulash 5outta5 I don't know where to begin. The awaze sauce w/garlic, onions, peppers & herbs blew me away. The injera was the utensil. Using it to grab a piece of the tilapia, whilst also sopping up awaze sauce made for an excellent bite. I should've ordered some to go. Tilapia fried filet 5outta5 It was fried & seasoned to perfection. I don't eat a lot of tilapia but I could have theirs routinely. Banatu 3outta5 The meat was tender but the sauce lacked flavor. We requested spicy but it didn't deliver. Spaghetti w/chicken I forgot to try it but my son said it reminded him of another restaurant's sweet spaghetti. He liked it though. Honey wine 4outta5 It's a unique flavor. It's sweet, tart, w/a mild bite on the end. I had two. Baklava 3.7outta5 It was different. It was my first time having it. It had a flaky crust and moist center but it really didn't have a lot of flavor. There was a hint of sweetness but nothing that made me want more. There's a small stage where I'm assuming a DJ or small band, gets busy. Very chill vibe. Parking could be a challenge when they're busy but street parking is available also. We enjoyed ourselves. I'll definitely be visiting again and soon.

I ordered the two person combo platter that allows you to sample a little bit of everything! I loved the lentils and meat that had a dark red sauce. The sauce had so much flavor, without being salty or spicy! I also really enjoyed the salad and spinach (I think?). The salad was refreshing and paired well with the more flavorful meats. The spinach was also well seasoned! I appreciated that they gave us more enjera, when we ran out of the initial enjera batch. Would come back again!

I forgot to write my review for this place. I have been here in the past as well and the food is always flavorful and delicious! The lady at the front is nice as well. When I come I usually have someone else with me and we get the vegan and meat combination. It's a good way to try everything. The place is clean and there is parking on the side of the building but not that many. There is a small bar as well. The food here is delicious, I like this place and one other place close by. I'm sad we don't have any Ethiopian restaurants where I live.

Addis is rising to popularity and I was so excited for this to be my first intro to Ethiopian food! There was one parking lot dedicated to the restaurant, which was nice! No need to worry about street parking. Our server didn't seem too engaged with customers, but was nice. We ordered the Addis Combo and Kifto Special as our entrees. The special came out first but we were really confused where the Kifto Special was, turns out they added it onto the same plate without telling us. I wish our server communicated with us about that. For the food, I was not expecting Injera to be sour :0 It was very good and reminded me of the tartness that sourdough has. Overall all of the dishes were good, the Kifto Special and lentil dish were my favorite. I don't think the samosas are worth it, although the dough was nice and fluffy on the inside with a crisp exterior.

Amazing! We ordered the Addis combination for the table and split it. It comes with the meat combo and vegetarian combo. The meat is cooked perfectly in its spices. Amazing with the Injera bread! Service was good, friendly staff. Nice spot to check out in the area.

My cousins and I were craving Ethiopian so we decided to try Addis for the first time! We ordered the veggie combo, kitfo dulet (raw), fassolia, and the Kornis. Kitfo dulet (4/5): we got the kitfo dulet raw. The kitfo dulet is minced beef with mixed with ghee, onions, and green peppers. Veggie combo (4/5): nothing outstanding, but still a solid choice if you want to try different vegetarian options. Kornis (3/5): this included the kitfo, sautéed injera, and lamb tibs. Everything tasted fine. It's a good choice for those who want variety. Fassolia (5/5): this is a dish of stewed green beans and carrots. This dish was surprisingly all of our favorites for the night. The vegetables were soft, warm, and perfectly spiced. I'd definitely recommend the Fassolia to anyone coming to Addis. Overall, the food was pretty good. The interior of the restaurant was clean, and the service was good. The staff are friendly and helpful and check in with you once in a while.

Food The food was ok. I really liked the carnage and greens. My daughter likes the salad. We got the veggie and meat combo, which was plentiful. It had a spicy beef, a beef stew, and Doro wot. We were given 1 egg for 3 people. I felt one of the beef dishes were overcooked. My daughter felt the chicken was dry. The injera was different from what we had at other ethiopian restaurants, but it was still tasty. My other daughter liked it all, so we are mixed in our opinions. All agreed that we would not go back. Now let me say this, we are not saying that the food is bad. That is not the case. It was just different from what we're used to eating. Not all ethiopian places are going to prepare their food the same way. So this is not a negative review about the food... it just wasn't for us. Service, we were warmly greeted. Seated and our orders were taken. The server was very attentive, and it was a nice experience. Ambiance, this is a very nice place to come for cocktail or happy hour if you live in the area. They have a well stocked bar. The restaurant is open and inviting.

My friend and I visited Addis Ethiopian Restaurant on Friday, 2/9/24, for an early dinner. We decided to order the Kategna as the appetizer. It was crispy and delicious. For the main course, we got the Meat Combination Platter for Two. It came with 3 Ethiopian meat specialties such as the Doro Wot, Sega Wot, and Sega Alicha along with Injera, Ayib, Boiled Eggs, and a mini Salad. All of the meats were beyond flavorful and bold in taste. My friend and I finished the entire platter feeling full and satisfied. For the drink, I had a glass of Ethiopian Honey Wine. It was sweet and I enjoyed it very much. Everyone inside the restaurant was pleasant. The customer service was attentive and lovely. The indoor ambiance was decorated nicely with flowers and candles at each table. Overall, Addis Ethiopian Restaurant is a great spot to satisfy Ethiopian food cravings. I recommend coming here.

!!!!Very disappointed with one of the waiter!!!! I visited Addis Ethiopian Restaurant in Oakland, California on December 14, 2024, around 9 pm. I was disappointed by the customer service. The woman seemed upset about the tip I gave her on previous visits and insisted that I pay the full amount this time. She mentioned it was my second time not fully paying the service charge and seemed upset, almost like accusing me of stealing. This I never heard of it anywhere. While the food was great, the rude service left a bad impression. I won't be returning, and I hope the staff can improve their professionalism and friendliness in the future. The music volume also needs to be improved. It to loud and annoying!!!!

Delicious food!! The owners are very nice and we're always smiling. We did not know what to order for our meat and vegetable combo so we told him to order for us and he chose the best foods. When I ate the food, I could not stop smiling. My boyfriend and I ate the whole thing.
