The process has been simple: I call ahead of time and if they have what I want, it'll be waiting for me when I get there. I pay for the beer and they help me load it in the vehicle and I'm off. Tri-Boro is located in Astoria, along the BQE highway and in a semi-rural location of the hood. The setup almost looks like a gas station, except the place is loaded full of craft beers. There no doubt they have some of the best selection in the borough, if not the city. They have had a lot of popular brands as well as some obscure ones, many of which are not local to the NYC. They have beer via bottles / packages, as well as via kegs. Their prices are pretty good for what they have and ordering can actually be done online. Many of the kegs range from $150-300 and the staff is pretty good about helping folks get it setup properly. The only thing they don't have is a lot of international beers. I've had to look in other places for more bulk type stuff, but when it comes to craft beer, Tri-Boro is as reliable as they come.

Regardless, that wasn't what made me walk out. I am a housing inspector in NYC and as soon as I entered I noticed large amounts of rat feces on their uncleaned floors. There was a strong smell of urine and open liquor (clearly visible behind the counter). What reay shocked me was that the only other customers were some 15 year old looking girls who the owner was aggressively harassing. The owner put his hands on one of the teens and when she tried to back away, he shoved her into the counter. I was utterly appalled, phoning the police immediately after as the girls left. I know liquor stores can have a tendency to be low-class, but in Queens, Ivy Wine and Liquors is absolutely bottom-of-the-barrel scum.
