Connie's is one of my favorite local breakfast spots! I literally go there almost every Saturday morning... it's not very big place, so sometimes you do have to wait for a table to be seated (but it's breakfast, so the turnover time is pretty quick). If you're going on a Saturday or Sunday morning, I'd recommend going bright and early (around 8AM) or a little later (after 10:30AM) to avoid the crowd. As far as the food, it's just your standard breakfast menu, and they do also have a lunch menu as well with sandwiches, etc. I usually stick with eggs, bacon, and toast, so nothing too crazy. The coffee is hit-or-miss, but usually more of a miss, unfortunately. The food is very good though! Overall the staff is generally nice, though sometimes it seems like they're a little overwhelmed and the service is a little slow. Still, I would recommend Connie's as a solid breakfast spot! read more

Connie's is one of our go to breakfast spots. They often have a little wait for seats but that is to be expected at a good breakfast spot. But wait is never too long as the service is fast and friendly. The staff is always kind and very helpful. Today I tried the breakfast special of sausage gravy and biscuits. I am very picky about my sausage and I was pleasantly surprised with the great flavor. Out good was delivered quick and the staff checked in on us often. First time we stopped in for breakfast but won't be the last. This is a great little place. I really like the decor and the staff are all very friendly. We ordered the cranberry french toast and a dish similar to eggs benedict (but without the hollandaise) - I've completely forgotten what it was called. Both were very good. The French toast was sliced like regular sliced bread. I prefer the thicker kind, so I'll probably try the Texas toast version next time. The eggs benedict like dish was also pretty good and the spinach that was in it was a nice fresh touch. Can't wait to explore the rest of the menu. read more

Although Connie's Kitchen definitely has their regulars who you can spot pretty easily if you pay attention, I still think that this diner is underrated and a hidden gym. Tucked away on the right side of a small plaza (Darsch's Discount Liquor is easier to spot from the road), the seating area is comfortable with typical "mom and pop shop" decor on the walls. The food is consistently good regardless of what you choose while also being reasonably priced. I am personally a fan of a more savory breakfast, often going for the eggs florentine or Mexican omelette and a cup of coffee. I will add that FOR diner coffee, it is not bad at all and I enjoyed my refills. All the workers are incredibly kind whether they're working the biting winters or humid summers. I'm surprised by the low reviews for this place. Especially Jason's review below... what do you expect for a plain waffle and a gluten free sandwich?! Haha. Kind of a plain choice where I wouldn't expect the order to be amazing... Why not try a special? They're very good when I've had them. When I have gone here the last few times, I have had the cinnamon pancakes (3) good size pancakes that I almost can't finish, the Nutella and cream french toast (special) and most recently the breakfasts breakfast burrito which was really good and huge. The burrito had egg, sausage, bacon, home fries, cheese, and salsa which I asked for on the side. A couple other people in our party got the special which had an omelette stuffed with their homemade chili and they said it was excellent. In the past they've had the eggs and hash and I can say that the hash is delicious but they're always running out! Minus a star for that. The people are friendly and welcoming, and if you have a special request, like if you want them to make one of their breakfasts a little bit different than they have it listed, they will do it. As a last minute decision, my husband and I stopped in for breakfast after dropping our dog off to be groomed at The Muddy Puppy. The staff was very nice and they knew a lot of their customers by name. The atmosphere made it feel cozy, and like home. The food is very reasonably priced and very good! We ordered off of their breakfast menu, but the lunch menu looked just as delicious. They also had daily specials to order from. On a suggestion from a friend, my son and I decided to try a different restaurant for breakfast, rather than the usual place across town. Connie's Kitchen is a bit smaller than my usual breakfast joint, but there was plenty of seating available when we arrived. The gal who was serving us was bright & cheerful on this cold morning after Thanksgiving. Upon being seated she asked if we wanted coffee and/or juice for starters. Coffee was a definite! It was really good coffee. We both requested grapefruit juice and she said they don't carry it. I had a glass of orange juice instead. A half star off for no grapefruit juice. The menu is not a stretch. It offers nothing out of the ordinary, covering basic breakfast items. Not a bad thing, but it does not make a standout dining experience. I opted for a ham, cheddar, mushroom omelette that was very well prepared, light and fluffy, with plenty of the filling items. Instead of potatoes, I chose the fresh fruit cup. A nice alternative that they offer! The wheat toast was......well......wheat toast. Nothing special. My son had two eggs, over easy, with home fries and breakfast sausages that were pretty much what you'd expect. The choice was links or patty. No optional Vermont sausage was available like my usual breakfast restaurant offers. Another half star knocked off. Overall, it was an average diner, serving an average breakfast. Nothing bad, except for the lack of the two noted items. Service was very good. Despite the fact that this place is a tad closer, and easier to get to for me, I think I'll remain a customer of my usual little restaurant for breakfast. read more

This place was a dive. First impression was that it was a tiny shack tucked away in a low rent plaza opening, first impression was proven right when I walked in the door. Food was okay. Felt like I was eating breakfast at mom's on a Sunday morning. The waffle I got felt like it was cooked on a $20 machine from Walmart. Nothing special about it, but it was still the same price as premium waffles at big league breakfast joints. The place felt pretty dirty too. Staff was very friendly. Service was super fast. Bathrooms were not the best, but were clean enough to do your business and they were decently sized (no standing in the toilet to shut the door for this guy). Parking and seating were awful. They do takeout so if I go back, this is the option. I took my girl because we heard they had gluten free options. They had gf pancakes and gf toast. Not many options if you ask me. Since I felt disappointed in the regular waffle, i can imagine how their pancakes/gf pancakes are. All in all, if you live in the area it is a great place to go when you do not feel like cooking, but if you are coming from a far, do not make a special trip. read more

Just had a black bean wrap and it was so good. The only reason I'm giving this four stars even though the wait staff was very friendly, is because I tried the monkey pancakes too and those were really sweet. I feel like the bananas and the chocolate chips were all in the same spots, just something to keep in mind but again it could've been my taste buds. I'm picky when it comes to bananas. Great Breakfast! The best thing about this restaurant is that it is consistant. We have never had a bad breakfast and never had a bad experience and we have been patrons for quite a few years. The servers and staff are always pleasant and working hard and the owners are always working their butts off as well as the help. Well managed and it shows from the amount of business they do. We have been to other breakfast and lunch places in town and they don't rate in comparison. My wifes favorite is the oatmeal and my favorite is the corn beef hash with eggs over easy. The waitress set the tone for me as soon as we sat down she was a waitress that just goes thru the motions not real sencere just going thru the motions. Menus are on the table. I know everyone in town loves Ricks on five, but Connies kitchen has them beat. My husband and I got omelettes, one with home made meatloaf inside, the other with homemade corned beef hash inside. There are no canned hashes here. The home fries that came with our dishes were crispy and delicious and did not come from a bag or freezer...they were little red potatoes with skin still on. Lastly, the cinnamon raisin and cranberry toasts were griddle toasted with butter and just the right amount of sweet. We got jelly but never even touched it so we didn't ruin the bread. read more
