Had a really nice experience here as a new patient going in for a routine cleaning. I came in for my appointment and was seen right away, with no extra wait. Susan was the staff member who did my cleaning, and she was very thorough and patient. She took the time to explain each step of the process and made me feel as comfortable as possible. Dr Adler stopped in after my cleaning and, after checking out my teeth, gave me some advice for dental care. There are a few reviews criticizing the dental practice here or pushing unnecessary procedures for money. I did not feel that was the case during my visit. I actually brought up an old filling that was wearing down. Dr. Adler was receptive to my concerns and reassured me that the filling was fine. This dental office just wants money. They pushed me every time to get a night guard even though I did not want one. Then, the hygienist purposely broke my retainer so that I would have to pay them to apply a new one. I had to pay a lot of money for the new one and then it kept breaking, so eventually I switched dentists. Adler Dental will try and take your money. Do not trust them. read more

I have been going to Adler Dental since the early 2000s and have always felt like family when going. All the wonderful ladies that work at Adler dental know what they're doing and have always answered my questions and explained the procedure to be done. Lately I've had some anxiety issues and they have gone above and beyond to ease my nerves when I go in for a cavity to be filled or crown work done. Bottom line? Dr. Moed is my dentist. She is the best. She cleans my teeth and it doesn't hurt. I'm thinking of letting her drill my teeth, too. She is too young and pretty to be a dentist. She must have dedicated her life to dentistry at a very early age. Best dentist ever. She convinced my roommates boyfriend to see his first dentist in 5 years and 2nd in 10 years. I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Moed. I visited Dr. Moed for a second time. She found a cavity in between my back teeth that she wanted to fix for me. I asked her if I had to do it that same day, and she said no, I could wait as long as three months. Ooops. I waited a year, sure I would go back and have to have that whole side of my face out. Turns out the cavity went away. Seriously, it got smaller! I think if you ask Dr. Moed to give you a second opinion, she just might. Yesterday was my first time at Adler Dental and it was by far the best dental experience I've ever had. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, there was a sense of professionalism, patience, & friendliness. This is an excellent dental practice. It's convenient, clean, and modern. The staff is excellent; I mean their hygienist Susan convinced me to floss regularly which took some doing. I'm glad she did. My last check up and cleaning were great. There has been some recent Dr. turnover but the new staff seems good. I fell in love with this office at first sight. The receptionist is the nicest woman in NY, the office is clean but cozy. The hygenists are quick, Dr. Moed looks like everyone's high school homecoming sweetheart. But if it looks to good to be true, IT IS. Dr. Moed told me I had FOUR cavities to be filled. Now, I am a lot of things, but a latent flosser and sloppy brusher is NOT one of them. My dental hygiene regimen borders on OCD. Not to sound cocky -- but I have great teeth. You can imagine how deflated I was, walking out of Dr. Moed's swanky office, thinking that my once perfect mouth was somehow FLAWED. So I got a second opinion. Turns out Dr. Moed is a fraud. I had a very minor grey area on a back molar - no cavity, no decay, nothing serious. Looks like our pretty doctor is just desperate to pay off the super cool movie glasses you can wear while they work on your teeth. Receptionist Angie- if you are reading this - you are too sweet, helpful, and kind to work for a thief. Unless you want to seek revenge on your dental insurer, find another dentist. read more

After 7 years of being a patient as well as referring my friends and family I had a medical emergency and they wanted to charge me a cancelation fee of 75.00 I find that very disappointing . Over the last year the service has gone down considerably as well including them loosening caps during cleanings to then charge me upwards of 700 to fix what was fine before there cleaning . I had been going to the same dentist for as long as I could remember, even throughout college and grad school when I'd have to drive hours to get there... so you can imagine how hesitant I was to switch to a new dentist. But after today's visit, I am having trouble even remembering my old dentist's name. Dr. Moed is fantastic. Every person I met in the office is very sweet (and it doesn't hurt that Dr. Moed is really cute... the hygenist too, though I can't remember her name). The office is clean and high tech, with everything being computerized. All the x-rays were computerized (which I liked, being a bit of a techy) Both the hygenist and Dr. Moed went out of their way to explain everything that was going on and it was only a checkup/cleaning. I was looking for a place that takes my insurance in the area and this place had good reviews so I gave it a chance. I have to say everyone I encountered in the office was pleasant and tried to explain what they were doing and how best to take care of my teeth. Came here bc my wife was raving about this place. Worth the crosstown trek bc they Have become my fav dentist in NYC. Receptionist (Angie) is awesome and super friendly and funny. It was a pleasure coming in and chatting with her. Dr. Heather Moed is great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Superb bedside manner. I had three fillings done. They gave me these glasses that you can watch Netflix through. Such a game changer for procedures. I had three fillings done. The fillings are the same color as my teeth. They numb the area before giving shots. (Nice touch and makes that part less painful.) Gloves that the doc uses are scented, which also added to making this a more pleasant olfactory experience. Overall, I usually hate the dentist, but came out of there very positive and happy. They make you feel very comfortable and welcome. Highly recommend Adler Dental. Much different and way more positive experience when compared to past dentists that I've been to. Thumbs up from me. read more

In my opinion, Elaine Adler is extremely hard on the teeth and the wallet. I imagine the good reviews here were most likely written by the staff. I am so sad that I did not see the review by eb or the similar one in the filtered comments. I feel that my experience was a similar one, but because a friend had told me that Adler was a good dentist, I let her work on my teeth. I also suspect that she is nice the first couple times you go to her so that she earns your trust before she turns exploitative (at least that is what happened with me). I was told that I needed expensive and invasive work. Sadly I feel I was fooled, and the work done was done extremely badly and I am in terrible terrible pain, and my teeth are shockingly damaged due to the work. In fact, she damaged the marjority of the teeth in my mouth. Part of this was due to the fact that she destroyed my bite, which included grinding down the right side of my mouth so badly that the teeth on that side no longer met and in a way that forced my bottom teeth into my top teeth rapidly wearing them down to the dentin. Given my experience I would say that she is incapable of successfully doing an onlay even though she may tell you that you need one when you don't (as she did in my case) because it makes her more money. In retrospect I feel this was all about money. I am not naive. I know there are many bad people in the world who are just waiting for victims to walk in their door. I am just very sad that in this case I am the victim, and that so many of my teeth, both those that had no cavity before and those that did will now have to be capped to stop the pain. Others that were formerly perfect, are simply damaged and I will have to live with that. I used to like to look in the mirror at my teeth because they were pretty, but now I just get very sad and try to keep my mouth closed. I am now going through the long process of getting my mouth to a point where it is not full of pain. It is going to take months and months of reconstructive work and a lot more money. Learn from my mistakes as it is the only good that can come from something that has been an absolute nightmare. What happened to me was awful and I don't want that to happen to any other person. For me Adler Dental was a Dental House of Horrors. If you go here and they say you need onlays get a second opinion and if you actually need one, given how bad mine turned out I would say that you should go somewhere else to get them. Going to this practice was without a doubt the worst medical decision that I ever made and I will live with the consequences for the rest of my life as years were shaved off my teeth and Adler made sure that my future will have a lot more dental work in it. Watch out for the review system online that is controlled by their office. It has over 160 reviews, but it is hardly going to have bad ones when they pay for it. In the months after this dentist horribly damaged my teeth, I woke up many mornings thinking that it had to have been a bad dream, but it wasn't. read more

If there were an option to give Dr. Sarah Hubert 0 stars, I would. I saw Dr. Hubert in 2009-2010 and I am still paying for it. Not only did she perform unnecessary procedures, she did a terrible job. My current dentist has had to re-do all of her work. He is in shock every time he looks at what she did. On top of the fact that Dr. Hubert was completely incompetent and untrustworthy, the office overcharged me hundreds of dollars. We're not talking one mistake; I was overcharged multiple times for these unnecessary procedures that Dr. Hubert claimed were urgent. I cannot stress enough: do not go to Dr. Hubert, wherever she may be practicing now. Five years later and I'm still paying for her incompetency. read more

Its quite simple. She explains what she is doing, what needs to be done and she is friendly to boot. She does good work, too. The techs are friendly and helpful and they try to be as gentle as they can. The receptionists are helpful too with insurance matters--especially Angie. You can be as involved with the process as you want--put on the movie glasses and tune out, stare at the lights, the ceiling--whichever suits you. I do not agree with e.b. that she looks for excuses to pad her income. Her non-film computerized x-ray system lets you see exactly what is wrong with your teeth immediately and there really aren't any surprises. She encourages preventative care, also, so some might say that is 'excessive.' If you disagree with her course of treatment, Dr. Moed is a professional and I'm sure she will encourage a 2nd opinion. read more

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY! My two sisters and I all went to Dr. Hubert for years and every 6 months she would find 3-4 cavities on each of us which she would fill. I was surprised I had 8 cavities a year when I had never had a cavity before. During one visit to fill cavities, she decided mid-filling my sister needed a root canal. After that we never went back. I showed my x-rays taken at Adler Dental to 2 subsequent dentists who all said the "many cavities" she found and filled were pre-cavities and not actual cavities that needed fillings. Now, I will have to worry about fillings falling out for the rest of my life. read more
