He even checked as much detail as possible, more so than other inspectors, since my garage is pretty full I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because last year s 5 inch strip of wood rot was noted during inspection. The estimated cost to replace it was about $400. My painter replaced the entire strip as an incidental for no extra cost. I would get other estimates when it comes to repairs. read more

So first i want to say in the 3 1/2 years I have been forced to use this service the ladies in the office are ALWAYS RUDE AND SNARKY! Example I had a appointment from what I thought from 12-2. The office insists it was 11-2... Well I called to complain and was sent to a males voicemail. Minutes later what sounded like the lady who made the transfer called me back to let me know she listened to the phone recording from the day before and it clearly stated 11-2. I asked to hear the recording and she was not able to make that request happen.... Ummmmm at no point was I told I was being recorded... California has a wire trapping I mean tapping law.... Both parties have to consent.. So A: Either stop using that as a bulks**t lie.. I mean excuse... Or B stop recording people illegally! Pretty much common sense. On the flip side... Rick the driver was amazing and patient. I was SNARKY to him about the mix up and he did not have it coming. I called him and apologized! Quick update.... This review was written prior to me reading your other reviews.... Sounds like the office staff is a common complaint. Times being wrong is a common complaint. I would still like to hear that recording! UPDATE Trevor called me to let me know he wanted to make things better. Well needless to say the incompetence of this company starts from the top. Well Trevor you stated I lied and that your phone system let's people know they are recorded when you call in.. You are incorrect and I went ahead and called back your secretary answered 2nd ring. Zero recording. I asked her to forward you the line I called on so you can fix it... Your welcome! Ummmmm ..... How about when you call out? This is my second, updated review for Admiral Pest (my first was not a positive one and was based solely on misinformation given to us by the seller & agents of a property we purchased.) Long story short, I spoke with the manager, Trevor, regarding some concerns we had due to the work that was performed on the property for a rodent infestation. Trevor came out the very next day to take a look at the aforementioned issues. There were a few access points that were supposed to have been covered during the initial repairs that hadn't been done yet, but Trevor guaranteed he would get those taken care of at no further cost to us. There were also a few other access points that were previously recommended to the seller to close off, but the seller refused to pay for repair (instead she blamed Admiral Pest for a shady job she did herself). He also provided us with a discount on resetting new traps as well. Trevor and his crew were very professional, friendly and helpful throughout this process. We had a super bad experience with this company. My mom hired them several years ago and they initially charged her extra to plug up any entry points. Supposedly someone came in and actually did this work. She had monthly maintenance. One maintenance guy suggested bi monthly since it was not so bad. But when we got here after she had them doing maintenance for years we could still hear the rats in the wall and ceiling. So she called them to check it out. Then, when there was scheduled maintenance man we were all alerted. We have ring and three dogs we were all home and never heard anyone at the door and they still charged a monthly fee! Then, because of the discrepancy of the maintenance man showing a manager came out and said that were still points of entry holes and they wanted to charge another $200 and that was at a discount rate. We all feel like they were trying to take advantage of an old lady. The maintenance team was all very nice and seemed honest but not so much the manager and there's seems to be a high turn over rate there in maintenance men. So be cautious. (My husband took care of the rats by going up in the attic and actually looking and setting traps: problem many months later solved.) read more

This final review is in response to Trevor's response written on 10/31/2019. There were no obvious signs of termite damage or dry rot except on one board in the exterior entry area. The fascia boards were satisfactory and all of the wood at the rear of the house also looked perfect. There were a couple of boards in the eaves that should have been replaced by the roofing company since I had mentioned to Admiral that the house would be reroofed as soon as I could find a roofer. During the wood replacement process I stopped by one day to see how everything was going. At that time, Dustin, the honest, very competent head carpenter, mentioned that he could not understand why he was replacing so much wood. That was my clue that none of this work was necessary and was only ordered by management to keep the carpenter and his assistant busy during December when the termite business is slow. Yes, this obvious unnecessary labor and materials cost me $7628! If you find yourself in a similar predicament, request that Admiral Pest Control show you the damaged wood to prove that there really was a reason for replacement. My understanding is that 70% of the wood should be obviously damaged or there should be structural issues before it is deemed necessary to replace especially since said house was tented to kill termites in new green wood that was installed. Again, this house was built in 1954 when quality kiln dried wood was still being used. Air dried wood is what is used now and it is green and already infested with termites when installed. I requested a 50% refund from Admiral and they politely refused. read more

I was extremely disappointed in Admiral Pest Control. I wanted to use a smaller family business because I run a family business and I want to support others. They came and the guy who was doing the spraying was only in my house for 3-5 minutes. He said all done! So me, my 2 dogs and 2 kids left the house for the suggested time of 2-4 hours. I have had roaches before and after the spray, there were dead roaches all over and I was able to see that the problem would be solved. I would see the bugs very sporadically over the next day or so- then gone! I would have the service come for 1 or 2 more months and no more problem. However, when I arrived back at my house this time (and I had to prepare for this service by moving EVERYTHING out of my kitchen- all dishes, pots and pans, food etc like I was moving so it was a huge pain but I wanted to get rid of these bugs) no dead bugs- nothing! and the bugs have just gotten worse! Now I have to do this all over again and I paid $215 for absolutely NOTHING. I definitely do not recommend this company. Stick with the big boys for getting rid of bugs. read more

Our concerns: Admiral stated that precautions would be taken to reduce damage to the roof when tenting. These precautions were not taken and tiles were damaged. You can review the recent exchange of emails and form your own opinion. Email to Admiral: Hello Trevor, Admiral did not take the precautions they stated would be in place. This included special platforms placed along the roof and senior staff that were adept at working on tile roofs, all to prevent breakage of tile. Admiral will fix the broken tiles. We have a quote for $715 that can be deducted from the amount due, or Admiral can make other arrangements for suitable repairs. Please get with Mario and let me know how you will proceed. Thank you, Admiral's response: Good Morning, Regarding the roof tile damage, we took every precaution that we can. Your house has Spanish tiles, one of the most fragile roof coverings in use today. I have no idea of these special platforms you speak of, and to be honest 20 tiles broken is not a lot on a roof your size with Spanish Tiles. We will not be fixing these tiles nor paying for them. You contracted us to tarp and fumigate your home for the eradication of Drywood Termites, which we did. We cannot control the type, the age, or fragility of the roof covering you have on your home and in your case, you have a fragile one. On the original report/proposal, we note that we don't take responsibility for roof damage. In 2 places on the fumigation occupants notice it explains that we take no responsibility for the damage, which you signed. The work authorization also states we take no responsibility for damage to the roof coverings, which you also signed. I highlighted the areas in yellow in the attached document for your reference. I just moved into a new house in Bellflower. I grew up here so Admiral was a familiar name that I knew had roots in the city. I like to support local businesses. The office team made it easy to talk about what I needed and to discuss pricing. They had openings in their schedule within two weeks which I think is very reasonable. I ended up selecting the 1-year, quarterly, pest control service. The employee who came to my property walked the lot with me and we talked about what pests I'd seen before he went to work. He was efficient and got the whole house done quickly. I saw results over the following three days- less spenders, less crickets, even less ants. I didn't have him spray the inside since I couldn't take my pets out for 3 hours, but that service is included if you request it. My in-laws have used Admiral Pest Control for over 10 years! Yesterday my Mother-in-Law let my wife know how rude Ashley is in the Office. Admiral claimed to call my in-laws house five times to set up an appointment (which could have happened). My in-laws didn't return the calls so Ashley said an appointment was automatically set-up and a message was left. A bug person just showed up to spray without any approval. Mother-in-Law called Admiral and spoke to Ashley, she let Ashley know that she thought it was odd that an appointment would be set up without confirmation. Ashley let her know it was NOT odd she has a contract. There is NO contract! Ashley upset my Mother in law, shes argumentative and rude! When my wife called to let Ashley know she didn't appreciate her being mean to her Mom, Ashley let her know that she is the Office Manager and she basically can do whatever she wants. She likes to tell people to let her talk so she can argue with them. She is not customer service oriented AT ALL. She seems like a total spoiled brat! My in-laws were happy with the service they just weren't ready to set up an appointment. To be told you have a Contract insinuates you have an obligation to let them come out or you'll be charged. Ashley is not only very rude but she's also a liar as my wife asked her if there was a signed agreement and she said NO! She is the ONLY reason my in laws will not use Admiral ever again!! If you have parents you care about, I suggest you don't use them either!! I had some exterior woodwork with termite damage and made an appt for Mario Martinez from Admiral to come out and see if how much treatment was needed on my house. To my pleasant surprise, Mario said it looked like the damage was from several years ago (prior to my house being fumigated by another company) and after a thorough inspection of my house said there was no indication of active termites. So he didn't recommend any action at this time. I thought that was impressive. Most businesses will try to definitely find a problem. But Mario and Admiral gave me an honor appraisal of my situation and indicated I didn't need any termite work right now. read more
