A Novato Brewery Worth the Search During a weekend drive north of San Francisco, we found ourselves in Novato and decided to stop for a bite to eat. Before grabbing our late lunch, we wanted to try a local brewery, and Adobe Creek Brewing caught my attention. Adobe Creek Brewing is a newer craft brewery started by Jonathan MacDonald in March 2017. Jonathan was a homebrewer before turning professional. Adobe Creek is known for its tasty, hop-forward beers. At first, they only made small batches for local bars and restaurants. But in 2019, they opened a taproom for the public. The taproom is in a parking lot in Novato's business district. It was a bit tricky to find, but it was worth the effort. The place has a simple and open feel. I asked for a light beer, and the friendly staff member gave me a few options. I chose a clear IPA, though I can't remember the name. It was smooth and flavorful, perfect for a nice day. Since we were hungry, we didn't try more beers, but our samples were so good that I knew I would go back and explore more of their offerings. Great brewery in Novato! My first time coming here & the everyone was super friendly. There is plenty of seating space inside & out & a large TV that's viewable from the outside too so everyone was able to enjoy the Sunday football game whether you were sitting inside or out. Their sours are EXCELLENT, my favorite being the Tropical. They will be opening a second location in downtown Petaluma in 2-4 weeks, can't wait!!! read more

Great beers and good vibes! My husband and I both did a tasting flight and thought their beers were unique and tasty.

Wow, you must try this Brewery! Delicious Hazy IPAs, porter, including DIPS and TIPAs! Owlbert Einstein is a perfect starter on my Hazy tastings. These are truly hazy brews! I'd say the haziest, but then I'll recall twenty others around Bay Area. Superb Owl IPA is just that! Superb for dry hopes flavors, and DT Galaxy for a full bodied, tropical flavors, Dissociation is a perfect name for a triple IPA that hits the palate with a mallet! It's a fantastic triple hopper! The Minor Inconvenience Porter is a coffee, nutty toffee, with light hints of cocoa, yet not sickly sweet - Excellent! The Slice hazy is yet one more delicious libation with fragrant, fruity hoppy and herbal hints! A must for your flavor palate! And my last beer o' the day (tasting sizes) is the OYC cask beer. ABV is 12.2% - their big kahuna of Imperial Stout goodness! read more

Nano brewery in Novato - small place with outdoor seating and plenty of parking. Dog friendly! They offer flights up to 4 at a time, specializing in hops (west coast and hazys). Beers were decent, you can tell it's a frequent watering hole for locals. They have a giant TV with live sport playing when we visited, I'd imagine it would get crowded during football season. read more

Love Adobe Creek! Their seasonal pumpkin beer is my favorite pumpkin beer ever. They make amazing sours as well. The owner is a super cool and friendly guy who we love to support. The bartenders are friendly and efficient. My only complaint is they are hardly ever open anymore since Covid. I hope they can extend their hours and be open more weekdays in the future. read more

I had wanted to try this brewery for awhile, since I was planning a hike through Muir Woods, I decided to order ahead for pick up, Saturday afternoon. I ordered the Depersonalization and the into fruition, a sour IPA with blackberries and black currants. The Depersonalization is a great tasting hazy, Adobe does a superb job with hazy. Nice blend of Galaxy, Citra, and Mosiac hops. Great tasting and refreshing finish. I decided to get the Into Fruition to go with some homemade Chile Colorado, what a great pairing, a fruity balanced IPA with the kick in the chili Colorado, Adobe knows sours as well as they know hazy. Definitely worth the drive to Novato. If you find yourself in the area, please stop by and pick up some of their well crafted brews. It'll definitely be great to stop in after Covid for a few tasters of their many choices. read more

I'm so happy we discovered this awesome brewery! I had their Hard seltzer which was amazing. I had the Spicy Cucumber which was light on the sweetness of cucumber and the perfect combo of spicy. Cousins Lobster truck was there today which just made it a perfect afternoon of fun! We will definitely be back soon! read more

Amazing brewery! All the beer was tasty but my personal favorites were the Son of Capri a delicious sour and the breakfast bowl a phenomenal amber stout. Excellent brews here. First stop before pond farm and armistice, might be my favorite of the three in terms of beer quality. Cool spot in a commercial/industrial space. BEER: You can check out their website for all the options on tab and availability for cans. They offer a crowler (if a growler and canned beer were to have a baby), basically a canned beer that is the size and volume of 2 pints of beer. I have purchased their IPAs and Sours for dine-in (pre-covid) and always pick up. Their kettle sours is pretty light, like drinking juicy. The staff are friendly. LOCATION: Next to one of the BioMarin Pharmaceutical buildings. It's not a fancy location or anything, it's a casual place where you can go grab a beer and kick it with friends. There is plenty of parking inside in the private parking lot or on the streets. No need to worry about that. read more

All solids beers across the board. The Adobe Creek brewmaster has it down: all the selections are clean and fresh and representative of their individual styles. The "Nugs," a light ale, is a great warm day thirst quencher with enough bitterness to cleanse the palate. The "Tiburones," a lager, has some sweetness and just enough toastiness from a slightly darker malt. Hoppy but not overdone, the "Riley," is a great example of a West Coast IPA. My girlfriend and I have been to many breweries through 20+ states and this particular brewery ranks pretty high when it comes to price. 1 full canned beer and a small flight should not be 50 plus dollars out the door. I have watched this business grow over the past half a year or so from their soft opening to now and have already seen so much growth from them. They're definitely still getting some things figured out and discovering what works best for them as a business, but overall, I've enjoyed all the times I've popped by. They consistently have friendly and prompt customer service and a good variety of beers. Fantastic brews! There was not a single beer that I tried that I didn't fully enjoy. In terms of beer quality, this won a place in my top 3 breweries (and the list isn't short). Also, they have card games which is always a plus. I will definitely be going back! This was a cool little spot to have a few drinks after work. They let you sample the beers they have there which I find pretty coolI'm not much of a beer drinker, or sure if other places do that but I thought that was Awesome! I only tasted their Double Fruit Tart Berry Royale Beer and their Guava Beer. Their Double Fruit Tart Berry Royale Beer has a sour tart taste to it, with the name you would think it would have a sweet taste, but no. Now the Guava one, OMG!! That is my favorite!! To me, it's just sweet enough to have the beer taste to even it out. I wished they had like a food truck or some finger foods there. Bathrooms were clean, staff was nice. The beer is probably the best I've ever had from any craft brewery. I have never been a fan of craft brew, always liked the standards you get at the grocery store tbh but this place is next level. Apparently adobe creek took 1st place in a bunch of brewing contests from talking with the bartender for a while and I don't doubt it at all. The coolest part is seeing all the beer machinery as you can imagine the beer being made 10 feet from where you're sitting. My guess is this place is going to have a bright future ahead. Only con I can think of is I can't get their beer at Safeway lol. read more

These guys are making some great hazy IPA's. I haven't had any of their other type of beers, I strictly stick to Hazy's. What they make I compare to that of Revision in Nevada, not to malty, murky/haze in color, and rich in flavor. They are delivering during the pandemic. I hate to sound critical, but this place definitely needs to make some improvements if they want to survive. To start, there's no parking. I parked right across from the place until I read a sign on the door saying it would be towed. So I moved the car to another lot. OK, no big deal. The facility is located in an industrial building. Trendy? Hip? It's best suited for a younger crowd. We sat at a table that was under the warehouse door. The wind kept blowing our coasters off the table. Again, just a minor inconvenience. The clincher for us (and the reason I'm writing this review) was that after finishing our beers, paying the $27 bill with a $3 tip, and driving away, one of the servers came out and stopped the car saying we hadn't paid. The other server (who we paid) couldn't remember that we had paid. He was very nice about it, and apologized about their payment system, but what kind of place does this to customers? The beer was OK and I'm sure it will attract a loyal following. For me, it's not enough to justify going back. The facility, parking, systems, and staff have too many issues. I'll stick with Moylan's, HopMonk or BeerCraft. read more

You'll be treated to a staff that really knows its stuff and a humble owner/brewmaster who may not (yet) realize just-how-good he is at his craft! Novato has two very solid options now, with Adobe Creek offering an across-the-board high quality mix of IPA's and always at least one: (1) full-bodied Ale (2) Lager (really like Galli) (3) Stout or Porter ("wow", best describes the quality) and two Sours on tap.
