Beer, that's all you need to know! I must have my unwinding stop when we go on a shopping trip! Fortunately, my significant other enjoys beer as much as I do. On this trip to Vintage Oak Shopping Center in Novato, I searched for nearby breweries, and Indian Valley Brewery popped up. If there were anything called a nano-brewery, Indian Valley Brewery would be it! They are a tiny brewery with three brewing barrels, yet they produce delicious beer! They currently offer a limited selection of brews, no more than ten, if I am not mistaken. Their focus seems to be on IPAs. I tried a flight and decided their Hazy Blonde IPA was my favorite! Their taproom is small but cozy, and they have outside seating available in the back. The bartenders are all nice and willing to take their time to explain what each brew is like. If you do not feel like a beer during your visit, try their Kombucha, it is delicious. They do not serve any food, but on the day of our first visit, there was a food truck parked in front of the brewery that served delicious seafood. read more

This small batch brewery makes some of the tastiest brews you'll find in Marin. I ordered a flight and found my favorite to be the Hazy Blond. So good! These two brothers Matt and Joe are the salt of the earth. Their food trucks are amazing. Greek, Mexican and killer barbecue. They have Karaoke night on Wednesday and Trivia Night on Thursday. Starts at 6:00 and goes for a couple hours. I'm not the greatest singer, but I get better as the night goes on. Hope to see you there. read more

Had brunch around the corner and signed onto yelp to see if there were any local breweries, something I regularly do when visiting a new area. Ding ding jackpot, I found one! The beers I tried were the Hazy Blonde, Tropihoppa, Hopalong, and Grumpas. I'd say I preferred the first two but neither of these were bad. I also tried their in house Kombucha and props to them for making one, more breweries should do this. I'd say their buch is my favorite beverage. This brewery has a nice mom and pop vibe and the staff is nice and helpful. I really enjoyed having drinks in the back patio and really appreciated that this brewery was dog friendly. read more

My first time at IVB was the best day of my life, met so many cool people and most of them worked there. One of the interesting characters at IVB was a woman named (RAF) I have no idea what that means but she was really smart and gorgeous . I love this place, the great variety of beer and the pretty lady at the bar with the great hair. She is so sweet and always knows what I have a taste for when I come through the door. I discovered that they have Mexican food on certain days of the week and I couldn't be more happy. I was able to sit outside on a beautiful day, drink beer and eat some pretty good Mexican food. Great new addition to the craft beer scene in our town. Situated in a neighborhood location not far from the new Smart train station for convenient access from towns south and north of here. The rotating selection of brews will make most everyone happy. I chose the 4 taste flight of all IPAs and found all very tasty. The Camacho BBQ food truck visiting this weekend was a nice touch with tasty choices that went perfectly with the beers. I had my first visit at this 2 month old Brewery and Tap Room. It was great. They offer a lot for the little space they had. Parking can fill quickly but you can street park too. I totally enjoy all the beer sampled but my fav was the Stout. The place is furnished comfortably with industrial but intimate. They also offer limited outdoor seating. I saw parents with kids outside seating and they brought toys so its a place the community is comfortable in. There are assorted adult board and card games there. And plenty of staff. They had live music and a food truck until 4 PM on the weekend. I say check with them and see what is planned. The food looked and tasted wonderful. I think they are still finding themselves and doing a great job. However, I think the music and food trucks should be there longer or later so you can do lunch and/or dinner. So far so good. Great additon to downtown Novato. I came across this beautiful gem right after I got out from a yoga class literally next door (problematic haha). Needed to hydrate after an intense vinyasa class so what other way than some great craft beer! When I first walked in I was immediately greeted by the bartenders! I looked around and saw a good amount of folks. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The person who poured my hazy blonde grabbed a menu to show me what was available. So nice! They sold out pretty quickly of some pours I think because they're fairly new! One of the bartenders from Finnegans also works here too. Be careful when parking in the parking lot because some of the other owners nearby are pretty strict. I got yelled down one time when trying to park for a yoga class. Fun little gem I found from Yelpers in Novato! Patrons are chill and friendly. Staff is warm & welcoming. On Thursdays they have a pizza food truck, and on Fridays they have a Mexican food truck. What I love about this place is the local brews crafted in-house and Very dog friendly atmosphere. There is ample space inside to include several tables and an extra large bar top. My husband has been a true craft beer lover (and home brewer) for the last 10+ years. I happened to see this place after taking a yoga class across the way and thought it would be fun to check it out (after reading the Yelp reviews of course!) The bartender was a lovely blonde woman from Petaluma and couldn't have been nicer. We got $2.50 samples of all 14 beers they had on tap. All were so lovely and we really enjoyed the setting. No food on a Sunday but they have great options on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Tacos?! Pizza?! Bagel dogs?!). Indian Valley Brewery is a new addition to the Brew Pub Scene. Although they have been making quality beers for a few years now, this is their first pub location and boy is it sweet. The most important thing about a brew pub is that the beer is good....and believe me it is! I love their IPA when I'm in the mood for something rich, but my absolute favorite is the Hazy Blonde. It's bright and crisp and delicious! I love that they have the Chalk Board Menu, with available beers, showing the international bitterness unit (IBU) and the alcohol by volume (ABV) listed there so you can get just what you're in the mood for. The first best thing to do is get the flights ($2.50 per pour) as a way to do side by side comparisons. Then pick your favorite. They have lots of interesting beers, but they steer clear of weird, kitchy, candy flavored beers. The beers here are very true to the art. They have big hand-hewn wooden communal tables with games on each one to challenge your skill and knowledge "under pressure". That's always fun, and gets more fun as the day goes on... like tipsy Jeopardy! This is a family owned and operated place, a dream decades in the making, and it shows. The staff is warm, friendly, and knowledgable about beer. It's less like being in a bar, and more like being at a friend's house for beer tasting. It's destined to become a Novato Cheers kinda place. Do you like a place where you can hunker down with a healthy variety of beer options, catch whatever game is on television, listen to a local band, or socialize? Well, who doesn't? This brand new taproom is adjacent to Novato's suddenly interesting downtown district, within walking distance of many a fine eatery. I've been there twice over the last two days - had six different beers, none of which disappointed. But if I have to pick one, I'd recommend the Creepy Trees Stout (9.5%). Or possibly the Grumpa, a fine, bitter Scottish Ale. Or maybe even the locally named "50 Trips To Pinis" (We've all been there). The fact that they managed to sell out a third of their selections last night speaks volumes as to its quality. Its staff includes the versatile Chui (who can also be found at Finnegans), and the fellow whom I think is the proprietor who gave me a tour before the place even opened. Great tap room with some excellent beers! We stopped by on our way home from camping. We were able to find parking right our front. Super family friendly with board games, legos, chalk and coloring pages. It kept the kids entertained for sure! We were even able to bring our own food and snacks (you will need snacks if you bring your kids!) My recommendation for a "must try" beer has to be Hazy Blonde! Oh for the moms (and dads) out there, the bathrooms are very clean. Another must with little kids. read more

I would give this place 3 stars for the beer and 4 stars for the space. I had the IPA. I may be back one day, but we live in a world of plentiful, good IPAs on almost every street. read more

Went up on a Friday evening with my brother-in-law and his daughter to meet up with some family. The brewery is located right off the freeway, a short jaunt away from downtown Novato. There was plenty of parking when we arrived, as it appeared half the lot was dedicated to the brewery. Off to the side of the brewery is a little area where bands setup, and play live music. There is seating both inside and out, providing a comfortable, fun environment for all ages. If you get hungry while there, many of the local restaurants deliver/DoorDash to the brewery. While I typically don't drink, I am a big fan of the Hazy Blonde. My brother in law, who loves beer, tried three to four different options, and loved all of them! Indian Valley is a really great place to spend an evening with family and friends. The overall Novato vibe is great, and they offer a fantastic selection of beer. Staff is friendly, owners are great, and we will definitely be back sometime in the near future! read more
