No! They pull a full chicken and clam it's a 8 piece because the cut the breast's. That's not a 6 piece!

This is my second visit here, but this is my first review (I forgot to review my last visit!). But this time there were more of us! This place is very nice all around. Good location, plenty of parking across the street in a public garage, nice décor and ambiance, wonderful staff, and a good menu, although it is light on vegetarian options; but if you are not a picky vegetarian, you can still leave happy and fed. There is plenty of indoor seating, and even a nice side patio protected from sun and wind; however, being alongside 3rd Street, a rather busy street, it can be a bit noisy. As nice as the day was, we opted to dine inside so we could chat. They have some good appetizers, and we chose the onion rings and the must-try Ooey Cheesy Balls (5 fried potato balls, mozzarella, parmesan, parsley, house-made smoked jalapeno aioli). The onion rings are plentiful and not at all greasy, a great start to the meal, but the anchor of the apps (for me at least!) are the Cheesy balls. They are different: basically mashed potato balls with cheese inside, deep-fried, and delicious! The house-made smoked jalapeño aioli is awesome too, and it's my preferred dip for the onion rings. For the entrees, I tried a pizza for once, after seeing many good reviews. I tried the Blue pizza (Garlic & herb olive oil, mozzarella, blue cheese, spinach, artichoke, mushroom, red onion). We also had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken sandwich (Butter lettuce, tomato, fresh slaw, pickle slices, house- made smoked jalapeno aioli (mild), brioche bun), the Chicken Salad Sandwich (Poached chicken, celery, parsley, dill, lettuce, tomato, pickled red onion, mayonnaise, focaccia bread) with an added mashed potatoes for a side, and a Chicken Pesto Panini (Pesto, roasted bell pepper, spinach, provolone, mayonnaise, focaccia bread). All the meals were very fresh, and the food was great! The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich was a tower to look at, with two breasts as the main feature. The other sandwiches were well liked as well, but I know I was the lucky one with the pizza for lunch. If you like blue cheese, this is a great pizza you don't often find elsewhere. The toppings were just right, though I wouldn't have minded a bit more blue cheese, and the olive oil base instead of a red sauce was perfect for letting the flavors really come through, with the cheese, meaty chunks of mushrooms, and onions all balancing each other. The crust was a separate delight, a very thin sourdough type with a crust worthy of eating on its own - and it was! Sadly, between the appetizers and the entrees, there was no room for a dessert, and we all took home some of our lunches, and two of us brought home food for others! Always share the goodness . . . We ordered Fiesty calamari, Red Rooster Balls, The mustache, Caesar salad with buttermilk fried chicken, and Penne norcina. The breading on the calamari is very light which was great since some places over bread it. The meatballs was really good when eaten with the bread, loved dipping the bread in the sauce. The pizza was very good, love all the meats and it's freshly made. The salad was simple, I should've asked for a side of dressing. I felt it was not enough. Earlier in the afternoon I reserved a table for 3, after 6pm via the link here on Yelp. I also made a request for a table for ideal for conversation. They completely accommodated are girls night get together. We all ordered a salad, Arugula, lightly, yet perfectly dressed and the Blue Cheese Wedge were all delicious. We shared The Lover pizza where we added red sauce-a highly recommended move. It was the highlight, a really delicious pizza, a light airy crust and so much flavor. One pizza allows a party of 3 two slices each, just enough after a generous salad portion. I also enjoyed my wine choice and can highly recommend the Valravn Cab-Sonoma Co. I feel the $107 plus tip was a great value for 3 of us, including 2 wines and a hot tea. I am very pleased with this being our 1st experience at Red Rooster. I make weekend visits to San Rafael about every other month. This month was no different. Red Rooster is usual at the top of my list. It is easy to find, close to parking garage, owners are very friendly and the food is fresh and tasty! I love the clam chowder I wish the bowls were bigger! So good! I added an Asian salad which I'm will definitely have again. I was full but just kept eating it! We also had Cheesy Balls! Oh my goodness so good! Must order! The fries fresh and tasty! We loved Red Roaster Pizza so much that we ended up coming back within a week -- we just had to. The pizza is absolutely amazing. I ordered the vegetarian pizza again, and just like last time, it was exceptional. The base is perfectly thin and crispy, exactly how I love it. My husband got the blue cheese pizza and added sausage on top -- he had an amazing experience too. And you must order their onion rings! They're incredibly crispy, and the portion size is huge. We even ordered ranch twice because their ranch is that good. As always, the customer service is above and beyond. They check on you regularly to make sure you have everything you need, which makes every visit feel special. We've visited twice in one week, so you can imagine how much we love this place. First time here since it changed hands long ago. The pizza was absolutely fabulous. We got the blue cheese shroom one. So good you'll eat the crispy crust. And the perfect combo was the flavorful healthy kale salad. A very light red wine sweet dressing. And held up for leftovers next day. Great attention to the guests. We made a last minute reservation to pop by here on Easter. We had our fur baby with us so we sat outside. We were a little lonely as we were the only table outside but inside was busy. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. They have great beverage options and ordered very fresh brewed iced tea, Arnold Palmer and a tasty IPA. They have a large food menu selection, with so many amazing options that we wished we had friends with us to try multiple dishes. That's okay, we will 100% be returning. The Calamari, chicken pesto panini with salad, and the fried chicken sandwich with curly fries were So Yummy. Summary: Great service, Great food, Great price and cute place. See you again soon! So deserving of their awards, "Best Restaurant in Marin," and "Best Business in San Rafael," Red Rooster Brick Oven is a charming restaurant, owned by a very sweet couple who are much involved in running it. Their menu has a little bit of everything for their patrons. Dinner last night was absolutely satisfying! My husband and I really never leave Red Rooster, dissatisfied with our meals. We each started with salads that are not only pleasing to the eyes, but also definitely pleasing to the palate. I had their Caesar Salad, which is actually their own version. Prepared with not the typical kind of Caesar Salad dressing. My husband had their Sesame Salad which was also as appetizing to the palate. By the way, they weren't small servings, but we both finished every morsel of our salads. Soooo good! Following our heavenly salads, we each had a pasta dish as we were both craving for pasta, anyway. My husband had their "Chicken Penne Pesto" and I, their "Cherry Tomato Spaghetti." I did ask for some sausage to be added to my pasta dish. Both our pasta dishes were incredible! Yes, every morsel was devoured. We always end our meals with a dessert to share. Oh my! Their "Chocolate Chip Cookie in a skillet with Vanilla Ice Cream" was heavenly, to say the least! Between the two of us, it was "gone with the wind!" It was quite a lovely and satisfying dinner that I had to order a pasta dish to take home for lunch today. Their "Penne Norcina," which I look forward to enjoying in a couple of hours. Wanted to take some time today to review a great experience we had here yesterday. My 13 year old daughter brought me here for early mothers day lunch and it was incredible! We loved every bit of it. From the staff to the food, atmosphere, easy parking, location. Everything was delicious, pricing and portions are very fair.
