I don't understand why this place only received a few stars. It was a nice restaurant & the waitress we had she was nice & funny. The food was good. I love Mexican food. We had the 3 dips chips really good. There guacamole melts in your mouth. I'm not a big fan of guacamole but this place guacamole was excellent & well seasoned. The plus side is that it's made fresh everyday. Try the combination fajitas they're definitely not stingy with the shrimp or the fish. We did the mystery shot really good but we knew what it was when we finished it but that's ok still good. The lobo & sangria was really good. I would definitely visit again. read more

I came here for dinner with my daughter and had an all around horrible experience. First of all it was very loud and crazy; people drunk, falling on the floor ... not classy at all. Next, it had taken forever for our waitress to give us our menus. Once we decided on what we're having to eat and drink, I told my daughter "let's just order everything at once because we won't see the waitress, for a while." We ordered our food but it had taken forever. The food was horrible ... we had eaten here before (pick up) the food was of a better quality. The elote corn was dry and no cheese ... I could count the kernels; it almost looked as though it was taken off of somebody else's plate and put on mine. The tacos usually have two corn tortillas each but this time, just one. Found this place during a business trip last week. As far as the atmosphere its ok but they could find better music than the "club mix" they had blaring. I ordered the Pastor tacos. They were pretty good. They did come with too few of pineapples which I had to get up and go track down the waitress for. I had a Sol to drink. Since you can't mess up a bottle beer it was good. It could have been colder but that's just a pet peeve. The only thing that brings this place down in my opinion is the service. The waitress was new so I can't totally fault her but she should put some time into knowing the menu or what beers they serve. After all she is in the business of customer service. I had to get up on two separate occasions to look for her. I don't think its a 1 star place but if they don't step it up on the service and food side they won't make it another year. Went here with some friends few nights ago. Service slow and don't really seem to understand what they do. Most annoying, many man targeting on the women in our group while they were not interested. One person, close all time with the security and staff decided to even start filming our ladies by walking around pretending to be on a phone. Be careful going to this bar/club! Dangerous hazards in their establishment will not prevent their management from disrespecting you on the phone when you call to complain about an incident. Instead of taking steps to correct the hazard for other customers, General Manager, "Abe", was extremely rude and uses dishonesty to justify his non action. Several voicemails and phone calls are needed before speaking to a manager, based on my experience. Abe requires management and customer service training. What a shame! The reviews I read were not very good, so I was a little apprehensive about going, but then again, many people praise the food at the Olive Garden as being authentic and delicious, so we must be careful since opinions are like A holes - everyone has one. I used to really love coming to this place. It had good music, good drinks and a good crowd. It's been different here the last few months and I don't really go much anymore. The music is different and prices have gone up! I have never had the pleasure of eating here and have only came for a girls night out with friends. Their fishbowls are really cool drinks but they're super expensive and probably have two shots of liquor in them. Hate expensive drinks with no liquor!! Sugar factory is next door and you might as well get one of their drinks for about the same price. Anyway, if you are in the MB district it's worth stopping in on a night out. I love this place! I feel the ambience is great for a girls night out. They have outdoor seating, live music, and specials everyday. I've been here about 3 times, and all times we received excellent service - especially from Leah who is this friendly girl from Ireland. She got our chips and salsa for us even though it was self serve! Of course, it tends to be busier on Fridays and Saturdays so get there early. My faves so far on food are the coconut shrimp and the steak fajitas. They have $1.50 tacos and self-serve chips and salsa every day from 3-8pm Mon-Fri. The tacos are not the greatest in my book because the chicken is dry and I personally don't like beef tacos. My favorite salsa out of the habanero, mild, and corn salsa is the habanero salsa - it has a bit of a kick to it but the flavor is pretty good! Parking is a bit confusing if you are not a regular at Muvico, but once you figure it out it'll be easy. And adobe gila's validates tickets! woohoo! To make things easier I guess I will walk you through the easy way of getting to adobe gilas when parking at the garage. 1) Enter the parking structure by going up the ramp - enter the side that says "general parking" 2) Try to stick to parking on the southern side of the garage (hope you're good with your "never eat sour wheat" directions. 3) Take the stairs or elevator on the south part of the garage to the first floor so you're facing ALOFT- (not the northside which is going toward muvico) 4) Walk through the bottom part of the garge toward muvico (walk north) 5) About halfway you will see an entrance to Rosemont's park - walk up the little ramp 6) Once you enter the park through those doors adobe gilas is to your right and up the stairs!!!! Oh and their alcohol is super strong!!!!! It felt like we were drinking jungle juice in a fish bowl with super long straws. Overall 5 stars in my book because we had excellent service, good food, and a crazy time. FYI - if you're giving the address for someone to get to adobe gila's - don't bother! Eh... If I had to option to take or leave this place in the future I'd leave it. I stopped in one night for dinner before heading over to see George Lopez at the Rosemont Theatre. We got there around 5 so we were seated immediately as it wasn't very crowded. I can't recall her name but our waitress was really sweet. She was attentive and polite but would walk away in a flash after asking if we needed anything. Sometimes we did need something but before we could get it out of our mouths she was gone! She probably needs to slow down a bit and not be in such a rush to get away from the table. I played it safe and ordered the tacos with beans and rice. I got two spicy beef tacos and one shredded chicken. The tacos were decent. They weren't the best I've had but they were enjoyable. The rice and refried beans were another story however. First off, the sides were lukewarm. Rather than send the plate back I just dealt with it since the food wasn't that great anyway. The beans were WAY too salty. They were so bad I only took like two bites. The rice was ok but it didn't taste like any Mexican rice I've ever had. It was edible but there wasn't anything special about it. Adobe Gilas probably won't be open long in my opinion. I sure as heck won't be choosing to eat there again. it's more of an acceptable option when all else fails rather than a desired destination. read more

I used to like coming here. Then recently the dj started playing old music. Also I didn't appreciate that every time we ordered drinks (we didn't want to open tab because different people were paying each time) the waitress kept putting a gratuity. I have 4 receipts that each time she added $10+ in gratuity. From my understanding this should only happen with a certain amount in a group of 5 or more. It was only 4 of us in a table. I think she thought we must've been too drunk or whatever to notice but I noticed right away. I scribbled out the gratuity and added the tip WE thought was appropriate with the service she was providing (mediocre to say the least). "Laws instated by the IRS rule that automatic gratuity is a service charge, and there is no legislation that prohibits this practice. This being said, state laws may differ on if this charge is compulsory. This is especially true if the automatic gratuity is not mentioned on the menu or customers are not informed by a restaurant employee of the charge before they receive it. To avoid potential confusion or conflicts, be sure to clearly state your automatic gratuity policy on your menu or have your servers inform any affected parties at the beginning of their meal." The server failed to mention any of this automated gratuity and it is NOT on their menu. SMH read more

Only had a steak Taco and it was good. But also had a strawberry margarita and it had tons of SuGAR. It was explained that the syrup flavor added was probably the culprit of the huge sweet taste. I'm not sure what it was but it was so sweet tasting that I could almost Feel a heartburn effect. The bartender came over and tried to get something less sweet for my second drink which was a plain no flavors margarita and that one tasted like a gin and tonic, ( pretty bad). So obviously I think the syrups for flavor used in July of 2019 may be excessively sweet with a relentless amount of sugar or hi-fructose corn sugar, almost impossible to consume. So this is my first time here and I went with some friends for an Adult Night At Last, no kiddies outing! It was the only place around the Rosemont area that can accommodate 20 of us for dinner. If it's the first time coming here, you'll get lost cause you have to park in a parking lot. But when you eat in the area they'll comp our parking stub. I have to give our blonde waitress Amanda 4.5 stars on her service on a Saturday night! She was very attentive of our party food, drinks, cleaning up our table and she was also so nice to break out our bills per couple even though we were a bigger party. Really she didn't make a pissy face about it! We ordered the following: -Spicy Guacamole appetizers creamy with a kick and the serving bowl was also edible. They just needed to add more chips, if you ask for more it's $1.00 more for another batch of chips. -Lizard Legs but really they're chicken wings. We had the Traditional Buffalo Style. Nothing special, it was kind of dry actually (over cooked). -I got the 3 soft shell tacos with Mojo Pork. I asked for Corn but ended up with Flour soft shells. I complained, Amanda was apologetic and got me a new plate of food with corn soft shells. The shells were single shells not double that you would get in a Mexican restaurant. She also allowed us to keep my flour tacos so of course my friends devoured them:) -The rice mixed with black beans that came with my meal was flavorful. The 2nd batch with the corn soft shells tacos was way better than the floured one. They gave me more meat and juicier. I think they knew they messed up so they made it up to me, good job guys! -Hubby got the Blackend Mahi soft shell tacos, he liked it but the mango salsa was a bit too sweet for him but the fish was nice and flaky not overly cooked. -My friends next to me ordered the Sizzling Fajitas with Char Grilled Steak and Shrimp. The portion was really for 1 person not 2, sad face of her hubby. This place was packed and so busy that night that they ran out of actual margarita glasses, really you ran out? So we ended up with margarita in a plastic cup...boo lost one star there! Their cups were flimsy too that we spilled 1/2 of it on the table...oh Amanda what's with the cups? She again apologized and got us a new cup of margarita but in another plastic cup, but hey we got to keep the 1/2 that was still left in our 1st cup! The place was loud, reminds me of Hugo Frogs or Margarita-ville. Semi dark and they played pop music and then clubbing type music once the DJ starting spinning. The crowd for dinner seemed a bit older but when the DJ started spinning, the crowd looked like in their twenties, ah to be that young again! The stage/dance floor was a bit small but great way to squeeze in and dance with someone you likely but not look like you like them ya know. They had flat screen TVs around the room showing mostly sports. There was a huge bar in the back and another set of tables in a semi open area that looked brighter than where we sat. The drinks were pretty good, some of us ordered frozen drinks in a Souvenir bikini glass and yes guys you can keep the glass:) Overall, not a bad experience. It's really a place to be "seen" there was even a long line outside the door for people to get in and it was 11pm and COLD outside burrr! The food and drinks are just OK. Nothing that I would go out of my way to come back here. I wouldn't really bring a 1st date here, again it gets really loud. If I could give this place no stars I would.... Where do I even start? At first when it opened the bar was good, but after it's first two or three years into the business it went downhill. The drinks were never had the proper portion of alcohol which I get because they are trying to make the most money. Lately there is always fights and the music sucks. Once my friends were trapped in there because a fight broke out on the stairs. I was downstairs and all I heard was glass, stools, and tables falling over. Adobe Gila's, a white man's vision of a Mexican cantina. Good luck even finding the place or trying to maneuver the maze that is the garage parking. The layout of the parking garage is indescribably frustrating, you have to experience it to believe someone actually put time into designing it as something other than a terrible joke. The bar's decor is laughable, the music is terrible, the drinks are gimmicks that are more sugary sweet than alcoholic, and while I didn't try the food, the guys next to me said it wasn't anything special to be paying as much as they did. -1 STAR = Decor I walked in and was met by a strange vision of a Mexican cantina. The single bar area was some sort of tin shack theme. I mean stereotypes were abound, including a lowrider bicycle hanging above a set of stairs. The walls were filled with Dos Equis man cut outs, corona advertisements, I mean everything that screams Mexican with none of the authencity. -1 STAR = Music I believe music should be the draw of any good bar. If you go into a certain place you define yourself by the type of music you play, sure you can switch the style from night to night; but the vast differences in styles of music left me confused. One second I'm dancing to Kanye West, next comes on latin music, next is the Cha-Cha.... Where am I? -1 STAR = Drinks I paid $18 for a Chumbucket Fishbowl. It was a concoction that was spit out of what looked like a horchata dispenser you'd see at a Mexican place. 84oz to myself in about 20 mins left me more with a stomach ache than a buzz. The sugar was overwhelming. After tasting the frozen magarita in a pitcher for $12, I had enough. The secret of a great drink is a good mix between acidity, sugar, and alcohol. Light on the alcohol and heavy on the other two makes for a bad combo. Bottom Line: Adobe Gilas tries to be everything to everybody, and maybe it's working for them because the place was PACKED. Oh Rosemont, you're really gunning to become New Chicago, aren't you? I was quite surprised when my friend elected to hold her birthday party way out here, a good 20 minute L ride - 5 minute bus shuttle - 30 minute L ride - 5 minute free shuttle away from the heart of the city. I had been to other bars in the Rosemont area but not AG yet, and was surprised to see a decently sized (but consistently moving) line. I guess the theme of the bar is spring break? It definitely had a college feel to it. A bar that's ridiculously busy, an emphasis on boozy fruity drinks, and tons of people dancing their butts off. The staff was friendly but nothing irks me more when bartenders forget whose turn it is to order. Come on, I wasn't rocking my bro uniform that night, I should have stood out a little? I actually really enjoyed the music. The DJ was taking requests via Twitter and he was spinning a lot of great music from the 80s to the present, everything from Al Green to Britney Spears. He held it down and even called out guys trying to get up on the stage filled with woo girls who just didn't give a damn. It's not my ideal bar, but probably is my favorite among the ones I've been to in Rosemont (Toby Keith and Five Roses). I don't think I'd go out of my way to come here for myself, but I wouldn't mind if someone organized a night out here either. read more

Sidenote: if you don't want the souvenir bikini glass you can get it in a regular cup and save a whopping 75 cents. To eat, I went with my typical "mexican" plate. Enchiladas! They had char-grilled chicken, which seemed like the safe choice. However, I also saw mahi as an option....I really didn't know how that would be. I always get chicken. I asked my waitress about it and she said if I wanted I could do one of each. Perfect! Also, glad I did. I actually really liked the mahi, if I were to go again I would just order the mahi. Cliche drinks, bad American-Mexi food, and staff in dire need of proper training? Check check and check! Paid for a pitcher of Patron margaritas. Got a pitcher of ice topped with sour mix. How do I know? I have a young baby at home and have not drank in over a year. After two margaritas I was stone cold sober still. $22 pitcher is a rip off! We ordered the 7 layer dip which was good. Too bad they served it with those cheap tri-colored chips and gave us like 5(ok maybe 10 but not nearly enough). I asked for more and was told it would cost a dollar. Talk about nickel and diming me!! The chips we got were the remnants from the bottom of the bag. No way to eat dip with that. Fail. Mahi tacos were disgusting!!! Some sweet chutney was thrown on top and the fish was COLD. Not cold from sitting out too long, cold from being uncooked. I came here for my friends birthday party...it has good atmosphere and good music but omg it gets so packed...we all felt like sardines in a can. When we arrived we had to wait over an hour for a table but the positive point was as soon as we sat our waitress promptly took our orders and we did not have to wait to long for our meals. I had the chicken quesadillas which were average, nothing outstanding. Now the fishbowl was delicious ..it was so good and yummy! There was a few ppl dancing when the dj started playing the music but it wasnt necessarily a legit dance floor. Overall it was an ok time just the wait was out of control and it gets so packed..its hard to move around and maneuver. ..I.also recommend that they definitely expand the women's bathroom. ..the wait alone was 350min...it definitely needs more than 3 stalls! read more

This is a 2.5 for me. Pros -a variety of alcohol such as frozen drinks, margaritas, fish owls, beers in pitchers, etc -lots of other places around in regards to night life -free parking after 12 Cons -so cramped! Hardly any place to stand or dance -music selection varies -small bathroom with only 3 stalls -what are the wristbands for? Creates unnecessary wait in line -uninspired decoration. Such bland wall ornaments along the wall by the women's bathroom. When we arrived, unbelievably cramped. The dance floor had to be cleared periodically. The bar is so huge that it takes up a large part of the place. The tables could be arranged so that they take up less space and so that people could actually walk through. I've never been to the rosemont area for drinks before. There's plenty of other places available. I'd hit the other places first. read more
