Way more expensive than we thought it would be. From the outside, this looks more like a hole in the wall kind of restaurant, but don't be fooled. The inside just gets bigger and bigger. I enjoyed my sangria and enchilada. The elote was great too (more meat than actual corn). I just didn't quite see why every item had to be ~$20. Overall, I recommend it if you are really in the mood for drinks and good Mexican food. If not, there are plenty of other good places nearby. - AT

Staff was great - very attentive to our table. We made a reservation before but had no trouble getting a table. Nice spot for a casual dinner. Love the margaritas served table side. Chips and salsas were great! Enjoyed the chopped salad as well. Great portion for price.

Great food. Very fresh!! people are fantastic especially Omar!! Every ti.e I've gotten food here it's been great Prices are reasonable.

Such a great spot for Mexican food if you ever find yourself in Old Town. Absolutely loved the guac and the salad. We also loved the tacos. The patio was amazing with such good vibes all around. We had such good service too- our server gave us complimentary shots at the end of the meal.

First I came for the street corn on the stick as it showed in the review picture below. It came out as the other corn. Disappointed. I asked if the queso was soupy. Waiter said no not at all it came soupy. I sent back. The guacamole was very good the Tacos had no taste and the taquerias were good.

Taco Tuesday $8-9 per 2 tacos. And $8 house Margarita.

Food was good. Nothing outstanding. The margaritas are in a super small martini glass. I think I finished mine in 2 sips... barely 2 gulps. Great outdoor seating space.

A great place for some quick service and delicious tacos! Came here before going to a show at The Second City on a Friday night. We did make reservations for this place a couple weeks prior, and we got right in! Good amount of seating though so I'm guess you should be fine getting in without a reservation. Started out with yummy cocktails, I got the margarita which was so delicious. Not too strong but just enough to taste it so it softens the sweetness. We then had some chips y salsa as a starter! Not your normal just plain salsa and chips, had a good mix of tomatillo sauce, pico, and red salsa.. also something white which we didn't know for sure what it was? (Jicama?)... didn't eat that part however. Salsas however we're very tasty and with a good spice!! I also love fresh pico so that was my favorite part :) Then came the tacos!! These were AMAZING. So juicy and tender. I love tacos that aren't too filled with "stuff", the simpler the better. These tacos were just that! I also used some of the salsas from earlier on the tacos too which was a fun addition. Overall this place definitely met expectations. Very cozy feeling and fun Christmas decorations were up as well! A good place to hit up before heading over to Second City, bring some friends to just hangout or happy hour, or even a fun place for a date :)

The cutest outdoor patio located on North Ave! We took a stroll down Wells Street looking for a casual bite to eat and found this gem! Perfect for a summer evening when you're craving delicious Mexican food and margs What we ordered: APPS: - Chips and Guacamole - their Guac was so creamy and delicious. Came in a large authentic bowl too! DRINKS: - La Pila - this was the perfect crisp summer drink! Shaken and poured at the table, it was made with pineapple infused tequila and coconut rum. - Michelado - definitely more of an acquired taste, but your standard Michelado with a Tajin rim! FOOD: - We were feeling pretty full from our apps and drinks, so we opted for taco salads! - It comes with lettuce, black beans, onions, cheese, tomatoes, tortilla triangles and strips, and your choice of chicken or chorizo. - A larger serving with lots of veggies! Overall- definitely a great spot for a low key weeknight dinner or weekend drinks!

Margaritas made martini style table side. The spicy mezcal margarita was terrific with a bit more kick from the jalapeno mezcal than I could take. Both Pilo cocktail and sangria were yummy! My friend thought the Al pastor taco needed more pineapple but we both loved the elote!! My meat and pineapple app was super flavorful and delicious. Service was terrific and the location cute as well as great for second city.

I have been walking past Adobo Grill for months and have always wanted to stop in. This weekend I finally made a plan to go, and it did not disappoint! It's definitely more of a date spot or girls night just based on pricing. If you're getting drinks it's definitely not a cheap bite to eat, but that wasn't our expectation. We went at 2pm right when they opened, as often times it can get crowded in the evenings. We had almost the whole patio to ourselves minus a few other guests. We were helped promptly and were able to get great drinks and food! All of the food tasted amazing and there were plenty of options for both food and drink. The service was great and I would definitely recommend this spot for someone looking for a new place to go in Old Town.

Was waiting for walk in appointment for my cat. After 4 hours of waiting, I needed something and luckily adobo grill was down the street. The michelin guide recommended the tuna poke and I also got the elote as well. Food was fantastic, elote was really good, nice flavor and everything you want in an elote but you can get it much cheaper from other places with the same quality. Tuna poke was phenomenal though. They came with chips which I was slightly disappointed as you can tell the chips were store bought. Nevertheless the flavor of the poke was on point. Perfect balance of sweet, salty, sour, and spicy. Not to mention, the tuna was so fresh. Usually, when I order raw tuna, sometimes it has a slight sour note. However, this tuna did not have it which I think indicates its higher quality and more fresh. Great dish, unlike the elote, they give you an ample amount, I know it was an app but the amount could be treated as an entree! I browsed the rest of the menu and there are several things I can;t wait to come back for!

Alfonso made our girl's night out special! From the moment I stepped foot in the restaurant he made some fabulous drink recommendations and brought over guacamole made at the table . All of the drinks were made hand shaken by him. He was very attentive and had incredible infectious energy! Everything was authentic, fresh, expertly plated, and delicious! I will definitely dine at Adobo Grill again!

The spicy chicken sandwich $21 was extremely soggy and chewy, and their "spicy" part is just hot sauce. It had no flavor. It was such a disappointment. Service (1/5): There was a guy and a girl working and the girl was on coffee duty, while the guy was just taking orders and talking about lotion and soft hands. It was so weird. They are a gluten free place too. Everything is put into Styrofoam take-out boxes. The prices are dine-in prices for soggy, flavorless food. I understand gluten free ingredients are expensive, but $22 for a skillet where 3 (eggs, bacon, and veggies) out of the 4 items (eggs, bacon, veggies, and bread) are already naturally gluten free is disappointing. It's a mom-and-pops shop through and through- you'll see homely decor, a simple but well done menu, and people from all walks of life coming together over delicious food. The staff was warm and attentive throughout the meal and brought out delicious complimentary french bread. It's pretty cool that although the restaurant doesn't serve alcohol, staff from the adjacent bar came around every so often and took orders. For appetizers, we started with the feta and olive appetizers. They were good, but I'd probably order something a little more unique next time. I opted for the chicken kalamata dinner for the main event, which came with more french bread and a salad. The salad came out first, and it was pretty simple with minimal dressing. I wished there had been more variety in produce and something besides iceberg lettuce for greens. I'd recommend getting some feta on the side to add some flavor. The chicken, however, was absolutely outstanding. It was super tender, seasoned beautifully with za'atar, and brined in vinegar (I think). The za'atar seasoned french fries underneath were extra crispy and perfectly soaked up the extra sauce from the chicken. For the price, this place is a steal- you really can't beat the quantity and quality of food that you get. Overall, a great experience- I definitely recommend making a stop if you're in the area!

The Michelin inspectors do not have Homeslice on their list, and you know something, that's okay. What the slice does do spectacularly well is their vibes. It's very much a laid back, beachy, sunny, summery, tropical, pineapple in almost all drinks sort of deal. Even the mojito was made with a splash of pineapple, because 'why not'? If Spongebob can make his home out of one, then I can have it in a cocktail without complaining. That said, unless you order straight whiskey or draught beer, the drinks are going to run on the sweeter side. In terms of the food, I was able to try the Nadene personal pizza, Burrata, and the Jalapeno homies. Everything across the board was fresh and rock solid. The Nadene pizza had wonderful heat, savoriness, and herbiness as well as a little sweetness from the hot honey (note to self= ask for extra next time). Jalapeno homies were perfect for those who like some heat in their lives, with cream cheese and veggies to take the edge off. The burrata was a great appetizer, but is better for groups, that one doesn't fill up on bread. While a little tomato would have been nice, I come back to this not being a fancy Italian restaurant. Something that really sets Homeslice apart is the service. Everyone from the host stand to the bar servers is very welcoming, friendly, and chill. Food comes out reasonably fast, too. Finally, when it comes to value, at Homeslice it is pretty average: not a steal, but by no means a ripoff, either. Final verdict: There are some places that are better experienced with a group of homies, and Homeslice is one such place. While the food is designed more for groups, the vibe will invite you in all the same, and whisk you away to some tropical place, a welcome escape, especially during a brutal Chicago winter.

It's fairly simple, but still fun and satisfying. I ordered an Impossible burger, tater tots, and a strawberry almond milk smoothie. My friend got fries, so I was able to try both. Nothing that completely blew me away, but definitely satisfying. If you're vegan or vegetarian and craving a classic burger experience, this is a great option.
