This is the 3rd time I have brought my dog to Richfield. The staff is always friendly and helpful. He ate more this time so I know he is more comfortable. We've been using their grooming services for the last year or so and have generally been please with the exception of some "owner-shaming" about not keeping up with brushing but we let that go because they are so close to our house making drop-off and pick-up so easy. This last time wasn't just bad but scary. Got a call that she was ready to be picked up but when I got there the Person at the counter said she wasn't there. She didn't see her in the system and said "someone must have picked her up." Now concerned, I pressed and asked "who" picked her up - she kept looking at the computer screen and shook her head - couldn't answer. Sensing my rising concern and frustration she suggested that perhaps my dog was at a different location and that I could be in the wrong place. "NO", I said, "I just dropped her off here two hours ago, where is my dog?!" Person went to get someone else from an office who couldn't be bothered with my concerns and sent the Person to "go look for" my dog. Person was heard in the back talking to someone else about what a jerk I was being. Long story-short, they finally found my dog but couldn't understand why I was so upset. The groomer finally came out and stared at me like I had three-heads. I grabbed the leash and asked that management call me - didn't happen. I Emailed three days later asking to have an owner call me to discuss and so that I could also pay my bill (I had inadvertently left without paying) and it's now 5 more days later and nobody has reached out. Anyone have a recommendation for a good groomer? read more

John Sturgess, owner and founder of Adogo, shows poor leadership and customer service! It saddens me to see how his employees are treated. He doesn't even empower them or his management to reimburse a mere $350. I was told by the manager at Adogo that the owner, John Sturgess, had to issue my refund. I attempted to contact him more than five times regarding my refund. Despite sending a semi-threatening email about taking him to small claims court, John finally called me, offering a litany of excuses and false promises. My dog, enrolled in daycare at Adogo for two and a half years, had become aggressive and received three strikes, which I accepted. John tried to convince me to bring my dog in for another evaluation, "not wanting to lose a long-term customer". He does not care about the wellbeing of other animals or his customers. I would never enroll Jax into another daycare. I am taking John to small claims court and writing this review as a warning to anyone considering Adogo for daycare or boarding. The problem lies not with the staff but with the owner, John Sturgess. read more

We have two energetic beagles who need to burn off some extra energy on the regular. Luckily ADOGO is close to our house and my pups enjoy going there for daycare. I can't speak to their boarding services but daycare and grooming have been great there. My pups have been going there for over a year about every week or two. We've had a couple of weird incidents with our dogs but nothing significant; I know my two dogs play hard together there. They usually split dogs up by size and have areas for small/medium and large dogs. Sometimes when it's not very busy my smaller dogs play with the big dogs, which has never been a problem for us, especially since they are pretty energetic. They have cameras in the rooms so you can usually check on your pups. They've had a couple of different times when the camera was out for multiple days, which was a little annoying because I like to check up on my pups from time to time. That being said, when the weather is nicer the pups are outside all day and there is not a camera there (although it's lovely that they can get some outdoor play time). They also have some grooming services there, which is nice. Sometimes I get my dogs' nails trimmed while they're at daycare and it's nice, but I've also done a full bath service with one and she smelled great afterwards. Their grooming prices are very reasonable and the groomer does a good job with them. It's pretty easy to get a grooming appointment fairly quickly. Prices are pretty standard for the area (maybe a little cheaper) but you can get a discount on a daycare package if you're a Lifeline or AAA member. That part is really great. The current staff is pretty nice but they have had a lot of turnover. I debated strongly between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately gave them 4 stars because my dogs like it there, they like my (wild) dogs, and we keep going back. Overall I recommend them if you live close. read more

My wife and I dropped our golden retriever off at Adogo MSP four days ago. I picked her up today and immediately noticed that her front legs and face were wet - which I thought was strange. We got out into the car and noticed that her legs were missing hair and her nose/mouth was covered in blood (photos attached). I called back in and asked if something had happened. The girl that I spoke with was apologetic, however, she stated that they had no record of anything happening to our dog. I find that very hard to believe considering she came out all wet, which looked to me like they knew she was covered in blood and they simply tried to wash it off so we wouldn't notice. Our dog also smells awful - like urine. We will not be returning to Adogo and I don't have high hopes that someone will reach out from their staff with an explanation as to what occurred. Do yourselves a favor and look elsewhere for dog care. read more

I'd rather give like a negative star than a star! First impression was amazing! The staff were super helpful, accommodating and supportive in feeling comfortable and excited about our pup staying there whilst vacationing . We did an initial (4 hr) test visit and it went great! We were very excited and planned for a sleepover as another way to acclimate our pup. The staff were truly a dream! Well, that's unfortunately where the excitement ended... Upon pick up, we waited in the little lobby area for 20-30 minutes to get acknowledged. Once the staff member was finished with another customer (20-30 mins) they were inc rude. Asked who I was dropping off (with no animal in tow). I then express d my frustration but was met with serious attitude and no customer service mentality. Fast forward, our pup is finally brought back to us and he is COVERED in urine! COVERED!!! He is an American Eskim.. COVERED in urine!!!! He's on his 3rd bath and thankfully already has a grooming appointment tmrw. In sum - JFC!!! Glad we did a test round before leaving him there for vacation! read more

We had been bring our dog there for 2 months a couple of days a week. They should have known us by then. The personal touches to their customers are missing completely. The tipping point was when they called me because my dog was being "aggressive" to another dog so he needed to be picked up. I was shocked by this as this hasn't ever been in my dogs character. When I got there I was greeted by someone that supervises the rooms. She asked me if I was the owner, she told me that she SAVED my dogs life a couple of days prior. I'm the process of "saving" my dog she broke her hand. Adogo didn't inform me of this instance and when I asked about it to the manager she told me that the worker shoull not have said anything to me. They need to hire people that have training with Animals. All of the workers are young girls that seem to not know how to handle much. read more

They did a fine job watching my dog over Christmas when my regular place was booked but they charged me $200 more than they should have. I have tried multiple times over email and phone and I still have not gotten a refund. They were unable to confirm what I paid in their app (I sent bank receipts). And no one has been able to figure out how to issue me a refund In 19 days of trying. I am not impressed with their customer service AT ALL. Go to Lucky Dog instead (my usual place). My husband and I had planned a weekend away at a B&B about 2 hours away and we booked our sweet dog for 2 nights at Adogo MSP. On Saturday afternoon, I received a voicemail from Adogo staff which was extremely distressing. The staff member stated, "no emergencies at all but um I just did want to let you know that [your dog], she's just not happy here...we've been giving her potty breaks, but yeah we have to lure out with the leash...but yeah she's just not happy here and I think looking at other options would be better for her. I know Now Boarding has more one-on-one attention and I think she'd definitely do better with that um yeah we are getting busy so um we definitely can't give the dogs attention as you know we'd like but um yeah I think maybe going somewhere else would be a better option...because yeah she's just not happy here um if you have any other questions you can call us back at (612) 805-9500 thank you..." Seriously, that is the transcription of the voicemail!!! We are vacationing hours away and someone calls to tell us that they are "too busy" to properly care for our dog, "she's just not happy" there (three times!), and we should bring her someplace else (!?). This was the worst customer service we've experienced at any kennel in the five years that we've had our beloved rescue pup. On top of everything else, half our weekend was ruined with worry over whether our dog was receiving proper care. Upon our return, we brought this issue up with the manager on duty. She basically said, yes, she's not happy here. She did concede that staff should not be leaving voicemails like the one we received. We said, well, we won't be bringing her back, ever. She and the staff at the front desk didn't really seem to care at all, although they were happy to take our $100 payment. If you care about your dog's health, well-bring, and stress level, I could not recommend Adogo MSP. We will not be returning. As they recommended, we will be going to our top choice, Now Boarding, in the future. read more

The dogs just love it here. It is very clean and the workers are very friendly. The dogs smell great and seem very happy when we pick them up. It is reassuring to know they are in good hands while we are away on vacation. I also like that they can have their favorite blanket and squeakies to comfort them while they sleep together in the same superior suite! read more

Took my dogs there for quite a while and something didn't seem right but my dogs always seemed to be having a good time so I let it slide. Turns out that wasn't the best move. Every once in a while I would check in on them via the webcams and one day noticed that my dogs were segregated from the rest of the dogs, and any employees. When it happened the first time, I called and asked why that was happening and was given a valid explanation as to why they were separated but not why there was no staff with them. When I went to pick them up, I spoke with the manager who assured me that it would never happen again. That assurance lasted less than 2 weeks. I noticed on the webcams again that they were segregated, I called and asked why. This time they had no answer other than "they would be put back in dogcare immediately". When I went to pick them up, I again asked why and was told "we don't know why they were separated, the morning crew did it and didn't tell us why". When I asked to speak with the manager I had 2 weeks prior, I was told he no longer works there. The 2 employees that were there when I picked my dogs up seemed sincerely shocked that I was as upset as I was about my dogs being left COMPLETELY ALONE in a room and also by the lack of communication that I was given regarding the situation. I don't know any other company that doesn't communicate issues during shift change, especially major ones like this. We will NOT be returning. read more

Staff training & handling is poor, over crowded dog play areas, and the filthy kennels; our dog has come home smelling like urine every time. We've taken our dog here for almost two years now for convenience, but have had enough bad experiences. One trainer to a room of 25 dogs is their standard, but just doesn't seem adequate. read more

I've enjoyed bringing both my 12 year old Cockapoo & my 2 year old Retriever/Shepherd here for daycare and grooming. Staff has always been friendly and attentive to both dogs with very different personalities. They've always worked with me to get them in, even when I call last minute. Groomer has always given my dog a good cut and handles him well. Both dogs are very happy when I pick them up and sleep right when we get home. read more

Hello, my wife and I planned on boarding our dog and had no issues making an appointment. We've boarded at this location multiple times and have been very satisfied in the past. Fast forward to last night where the 2nd issue arose: We received a call around 5 PM notifying us that our dog's vaccination was expired but that we could still bring him in if we got the vaccine. That was the 2nd issue as obviously, the first issue was being able to schedule boarding for our dog without notification of his soon to be expired vaccine. Easy fix: "I see your dog's vaccine is expiring soon, he won't be able to stay with us unless his vaccination is up to date ..." Unfortunately, the staff didn't have this common sense when we scheduled boarding initially. So again, back to the 11th hour call. That puts my wife and i in scramble mode and we hustled to get our dog a vet appointment before the location closed so we could bring him in for boarding, per the voicemail that was left on my wife's phone. We were able to make that appointment happen, and got his vaccination updated. At this point we should be good to go. Very annoying, but people make mistakes and we're forgiving. Nope, its not over! Instead, I spend an hour of my time today taking my dog in only to be notified at the front desk that there is a '5 day wait period, sorry... i called your wife 10 minutes ago' Are you kidding me? Zero concern in her voice, "its our policy" -- oh yea? Why did the person who left a voicemail not know about this policy? And now we need to scramble to find another option for boarding? Seriously, how incompetent do a significant amount of people on staff need to be to have so many fails along the path of this process? Lets recap how many issues have ruined my day: 1) allowed to schedule without notification of upcoming vaccine expiration 2) last minute notification that we needed to have our dog vaccinated to bring him in 3) WRONG information provided during the already last minute notification that caused us to scramble for ZERO purpose 4) Wasting my time having to bring in my dog without him being able to stay because staff don't understand 'policy' 5) Callous and Remorseless staff that don't have the common sense or the empathy to recognize how incredibly difficult a situation like this is. We are substantially disappointed by the service we received on attempt of a stay. read more

This is my favorite place to leave my dog they have good customer service and I'm always able to get in at the last minute. I have been good here for a year and every time i leave popeye he is very happy and excited. So if you are looking for a pet hotel i would definitely recommend adogo 100% read more

We have used both the daycare punch cards at least 10 times and overnight stays for several long weekends and a couple of week long stays at this location. Our medium sized dog loves it and is always ready to go play when she gets there - doesn't even look back or give us a second thought. We like seeing her periodically on the webcam and the staff are always giving her loves and pats (she is more of a people dog). We like that she gets most of the day outside of her kennel with other dogs and staff. She has never had any illness following any of her visits and her bedding and toys come home just like we left them. read more

We've used Adogo for daycare and overnight boarding for our 7 year old black lab rescue for about a year now and love it. The staff is super friendly and helpful and you can tell they are all true dog lovers. I love being able to check in on the daycare space via webcam if I'd like but I'm never worried that our dog is not having a good time! She loves it and is always happy to go back. I love knowing that my pup has a safe and convenient place to stay when I'm out of town. read more

We dropped our dog off twice and we were very pleased with the staff and our dog loved it!

We bought our 2 boxers here over 4th of July weekend. Upon pick up, I found that their bed was saturated with urine (neither dog would purposely pee in their bed) and their toys (tug toys) also covered. It's been 5 days since and now they have both developed kennel cough, which they were vaccinated against, but I'm told doesn't always prevent the infection. Sadly, we would not return. read more

Tried this business and not impressed. They have a groupon for day care and stated that my dog was given a warning for trying to jump a fence and stated on second visit that he was warned again and could not come back. The fence between the areas ( outside ) are low and would not take much to jump it. Even one of the workers stated this and seems no one wants to fix the problem. I asked for owner to call me and they never called me. I would not use this dog care again. read more

My dog and I love Adogo! The staff are friendly and share genuine affection for my dog, they are always happy to see her and my dog is ecstatic to see them every time she goes to daycare. My dog has tons of energy and always comes home pooped out. I love to spy on her using the webcam they have in each play room. I've had my dog stay for several days overnight while I was out of town and I don't think she even missed me she had such a good time! My mind is at ease knowing my dog is well taken care of by people who adore her while I am working or on vacation. Five Stars! Love this place! read more

We will never bring our dog here again. While our dog was at ADOGO for boarding we received a phone call that she was bit on the ear by another dog while playing. When we came to pick her up she not only had the bite but she also had scrapes on her neck, scrapes in her ear, bite marks on her forehead with chunks of hair missing and a scratch down her entire side and leg. The day after we brought her home we also realized she had an eye infection. It has been over a month and our dog is still missing hair on her head; she will have these scars forever. The ADOGO manager was unapologetic and said the other dog would only be receiving a strike and would be allowed to play in group again. read more

I've brought my year old dog here several times for overnight care. I can watch him on a webcam and see him playing with other dogs. Staff appear happy to see him and he excitedly heads back to the play area each time he's dropped off. He sleeps hard when I pick him up because he's worn out from all of the socializing. His bedding has always been freshly washed when I pick him up. I will continue to be a customer. read more
