Let me begin by admitting that when I was searching for a moving company and found this plethora of raving reviews on Adonis's Yelp page, I was skeptical. Were they all for real? I decided to call Adonis and true to one of the reviews I read, he immediately answered my call in a calm, pleasant manner. In hindsight, this would be the first of many moments during a stressful move in which my anxiety levels were eradicated by this man and his team. Before finding Adonis, I had reserved a 15 foot U-Haul truck in NYC with a plan to hire a few people to load it, then drive 500 miles by myself to a storage facility where friends and family would help with the unloading. Adonis quoted me a very reasonable price for his team to load the truck. His genuine concerns with me alone driving the 500 miles (what stranger cares??) in a large heavily loaded truck was apparent when he proposed a second very reasonable quote to load his truck, drive it to the storage unit and unload it with his team. I took a deep deep breath and again felt the pressure/stress/weight of the move dissipating. I agreed to the later proposal for his team to drive my entire apartment the 500 miles. He asked me to forward a third of the total price before the move, another third the day of the move and the balance upon unloading things into the storage unit. Here, I will admit again, I was hesitant to forward cash to a stranger before the job had even begun. I have moved four times with four different moving companies in the last 25 years within Manhattan and had consistanly paid (and I must add, exorbitantly) at the END of the move. It took courage, blind trust and a quick, guilty Facebook stalking (it was research!) moment before I decided to press send. This was the best decision I could have made. I know this is long but you must bare with me becasue I believe Adonis's story is one of humanitarianism and simply reviewing his company here on Yelp feels limiting. (sorry Yelp!) Of course, he is a business man but his genuine concern to help and the way he easily solved the many obstacles presented with a last minute move out due to unforeseen personal circumstances, was nothing short of a miracle. The high bar of human decency he sets for the strong, young, impressionable men he employs is exceptional. Angels do exist and Adonis is one. So! What a great service! I called Adonis at around 9.30am on a Saturday with an impossible request: 'can you move a large chest of drawers for me today?'. He emailed me the online quotation form and I had an agreed price plus estimated pick up time of 3-4pm before lunch! That's not all. I needed to move a handful of items (mattress, boxes, etc), as well as put a few pieces of furniture on the curb for disposal (couch, bookshelf, dresser, rug, boxspring), during the last day of my lease, and my movers (not Adonis) cancelled on me. So I called about a dozen movers frantically and all of them were either booked, didn't take same day reservations or charged an unreasonable amount. Finally Adonis to the rescue. He showed up about 15 minutes early with the truck. His 3 guys each came on the subway to meet us, with one being early, one being on time, and the third being a few minutes late. The building I was moving out of was a 4th floor walk up, and the building I was moving into had an elevator. It took them about 75-90 minutes to finish the job. The agreed total was $300, and I gave each of the guys a tip. Given how stressful and expensive moving in NYC typically is, Adonis made is a lot easier and charged a reasonable amount. read more

Our move was on August 30th, 1 bedroom apartment from Hoboken (3 flights of stairs) into a New York apartment with no stairs. His price was the best quote we received and he didn't add any other charges to this. Adonis and his team (3 people) arrived about 15 minutes early and were ready to get the job done. Adonis remained completely calm and in control of the entire move, very professional and answered any questions I had with a smile. It was very hot, the stairs were terrible, dark, narrow and uneven and no one on his team complained about anything. I was a little nervous because, let's face it moves never go smoothly, boy was I wrong!! They were all G R E A T!!!!!!! They even wrapped and moved a huge mirror my daughter loved but was worried about the cost in moving it and they said they would move it for us. Then when it was time to pay I figured here it comes .....additinal charges, blah blah blah, plus the mirror and in the end Adonis never charged us more money. I'm not saying they wouldn't charge you for moving something extra it's that they didn't take advantage of your situation. I know other movers would not do this. NOT ONE ITEM ARRIVED WITH ANY DAMAGE. Adonis and his team helped me move back in April and it was one of the best moving experiences I have ever had. I had never hired professional movers and was pretty apprehensive since I had heard of so many horror stories. (Careless with your things, horrible misquotes, etc.) Adonis was a complete professional and in the end it felt like you were moving with a bunch of friends instead of people you just met. (a bunch of friends who knew what they were doing, that is) I moved from Jersey City to Midtown East. Before the actual move, we agreed to a flat fee and Adonis kept in touch, making me feel comfortable that everything was going to go smoothly. The day of the move, his team arrived early and got to work right away- working efficiently, while still making sure they didn't damage my things. The move out was simple- I was on the second floor and we had our own elevator. When we got to my new place, that's when things became complicated. There was nowhere to park and my apartment was a walk up with narrow stairs. They handled the situation like a boss- maneuvering the truck so we didn't get a ticket and tackling the stairs better than I could have ever imagined. They also put together my bed, which was amazing. When it was time for them to leave, I knew I should pay more then what they quoted me, but he kept to his word and said he would charge what he quoted, nothing more. I gave him a bunch extra, regardless- they had 100% earned it. But, I really appreciated how he didn't try and sneak in extra charges- it was extremely honorable. Ultimately, I would recommend them to anyone who is moving in this area- they are a wonderful team who will make the whole stressful process of moving so much easier. After my sister's horrible experience using Graigslist movers I did not know what to do when I needed movers, luckily I ran across Yelp and Adonis stood out from amongst many. The negotiating process was a breeze Adonis made everything so simple incomparsion to other movers his pricing was very good. He did 2 moves for me, on the way to delivering my things he dropped off several items to a different location. I was giving my sister some things and I was very surprised that he did not charge a lot more for that. Other movers wanted $400.00 more for that, he charged less than half of that. He and his crew are a fun but super serious group. They came earlier than planned and were super good at what they do. They were super helpful to me, I am disabled and can not do a lot of things they removed garbage and items I was not taking with me. I highly recommend them for any of their services. There is NO NEED to look at any other moving company...Adonis and crew (for a total of 5) including his son and lovely "wrapper" Elba are professional, fast, efficient, fair, and delightful people. Each member of the group was a pleasure to be around. They moved me from a 2nd floor walk up to a 5th floor walk up (actually six floors since one floor is a duplex). This was NOT EASY--I felt bad as our elevator is broken--they were totally cool the entire time. No one complained--they smiled the entire time!! They were well-mannered, kind, strong hard workers with fantastic personality. They almost felt like family :) Adonis has fantastic communication--he can't always pick up the phone as he is often moving others--but he was quick with email and text--he also has a neat app that tracks his location when he is on his way. I FELT GOOD ABOUT GIVING THIS TEAM MORE MONEY--do you ever say that? Adonis and his awesome crew helped me move at the beginning of October from another city to New York. These guys are incredibly professional, friendly, efficient and funny! The move took place in 1.5 days. They picked my stuff from the origin city one day, stored them overnight and delivered them to me the next day. I think their prices with a quick search I've done were the lowest in the market, yet their professionalism and efficiency met high standards. Plus they are all friendly and funny, so this made my move a very entertaining experience. An extra plus (which respectfully Adonis does not reveal, but I found out when I searched for his business) is that he and his crew does a lot of community work by helping women who are victims of domestic abuse and evicted people. The only drawback I can think of is that I asked them to do a second pickup (from Chelsea, Manhattan) the next day to pick a disassembled bed, 2 small bedside tables, 1 normal size TV stand and 2 luggages and got charged for that extra $100. But even though this left a bitter taste on me, I think their prices overall were still better than competitors. So next time you plan on moving, consider these guys. Adonis moved my husband and I from NYC to Dallas in the beginning of April. While the move itself was smooth, the aftermath has been hell. My mom painted us a canvas painting and it got "lost" during the move. Adonis found the painting several months ago and refuses to send it to us. Despite numerous calls, emails, and my first bad yelp review, he continues to make excuses, lie, or simply not respond. Next step will be a police report and then a lawsuit. Having never hired movers before, I wasn't sure what to expect, but after getting some crazy quotes from other moving companies, I saw all these glowing reviews on Yelp for Adonis, so I gave him a call. After exchanging a few emails, we booked my move from a 4th floor elevator building in Washington Heights to a 4th floor walkup 20 blocks away.
