I have moved many times in my past and understand the frustration of the pitfalls that come at times during moving. Pitfalls happened during working with Adonis and his crew and every one of them handled them professionally. Pitfall 1: At the end of May we closed on a condo in Harlem. Days prior to that date we were scheduled to move using Adonis and his crew. The plan was to have them throw away the items undesired using their truck and move the items desired in a truck we would provide. The day before we were not able to secure the truck we were to provide and had to not only reschedule but change the plan completely! Pitfall 2: On the morning of closing the sale of the condo, we scheduled to move all items out. The plan was to remove all of the undesired items from the condo, put the undesired items in a location to be professionally sorted, then remove the items to be kept and deliver them to another location in Lower Eastside. Normally, when a home changes owners, the previous owners have until the end of the day of closing the sale of contract to vacate the premises. The new owner decided to change normality and wanted us to vacate by the moment of closing, placing a serious strain on the time frame. Adonis and his crew worked quickly and pushed through to get the job done right up to and through the difficulty of the new owner's appearance. They kept their professionalism even though the new owner was looking over their shoulder in the final moments of getting everything vacated. Pitfall 3: The work that was to be done ended up being an all day job, and at this point it was rush hour; they had to travel from mid Harlem to Lower Eastside during rush hour. After being exhausted from the earlier part of the day and traveling through rush hour they still efficiently and quickly placed the items in their destination. Through the whole day I never heard a complaint nor anyone have an issue of any kind. I was remarkably impressed by this at this point with the acknowledgement of the pitfalls (and I am difficult to impress). And then I learned that it was supposed to be a day in which they were all to take the day off. I have to say, if any of you reading this are thinking to move, you would be seriously missing out by not considering Adonis W NYC Movers. I contacted Adonis the day before I needed to move realizing this was ridiculously short notice and was fully prepared for him to tell me that he couldn't do it. To my surprise, he was available and accepted my incredibly short window of time (10-2) He was professional from the minute we spoke and followed through with everything he promised. I told him of my prior horrible experiences with movers and told him that I was on the fence with believing that there was such a thing as a good, honest moving company and he proved me wrong. He and his team of 5 arrived early and charged a flat rate. (All negotiations were made up front) Meanwhile I was in a cab rushing to meet them. They were nice, courteous, incredibly efficient and I couldn't have asked for kinder, hard working people to help me in my time of need. I mentioned to him that I'd been scrambling to get things in order for my son for Christmas and he offered to take me to the local Home Depot to pick up a Christmas tree (they helped me move on December 23) so from the time they unloaded the storage unit, loaded the truck, went out of their way to make a detour at Home Depot to help me get a Christmas tree and unload my things, it took them less than 3 hours with travel time. This was literally the first time I've moved that I didn't feel stress and anxiety because I knew I was in good hands. I don't have enough kinds words to express the quality of work they did and the sheer speed they did it with. I hope Adonis stays in business for many years to comes and thrives and flourishes in any endeavors he sets out to do because he's earned it. And to further add to how amazing he is, he offered to come back and offered any help I may need in the future! Seriously, who does that?? I will definitely be doing business with him again. Adonis and his crew helped me keep my apartment. I'm a single Vietnam vet and a Licensed Massage Therapist who works with vets who have PTSD. Due to over 6 years of very challenging life threatening illnesses my apartment became a disaster zone. My Co-op demanded that condition to be corrected. I am profoundly grateful and fortunate to have been led to Adonis for help. He is a consummate professional: Courteous, to the point, prompt, true to his word, trustworthy ... I told him, and believe it's true that he is indeed a Manual Therapist. One month ago I was once again treated to the fabulous and utmost professional service that one can only come to expect from Adonis and his ultra talented group of movers. I was in the midst of a very chaotic and stressful move from New York City to Dallas, and was unsure if all of my things would fit on my truck for the big drive. Within seconds of arriving, Elba, along with Kevin and Randy, immediately calmed my fears and assured me that all would fit on the truck perfectly...which it all did thanks to their strategic methods of loading/organizing! For the entire time, I was continuously told how they were going to load everything on the truck, asked my thoughts/feedback on everything, and offered fantastic ideas on how best to consolidate everything, space wise on the truck. Adonis and his crew provide all that you could ever ask for in a move, and do so with a friendly attitude the whole way through. They truly are amazing movers! I didn't provide much notice for my move, but he was able to accommodate my schedule with no problems. I had numerous questions leading up to the move as well, and he responded to all of my emails very quickly, which was also very reassuring. Price is very reasonable, and every crew member gave 100% effort in moving everything (including very heavy items up a walk up) the entire time. The fact that they also offer to disassemble and reassemble beds for a small (and very reasonable!) added fee is also a dream, as it took even more work/worry away from me, and saved a lot of time! Watching them reassemble my Crate & Barrel bed with power tools in minutes vs. my painstakingly twisting around my allen wrench by hand was so great and helpful. In 5 or so past moves, I've never hired movers -- I've always managed with me and my dad. This time, since that wasn't an option and I was juggling school and jobs and everything else, I decided to hire movers for my move from Harlem to Jackson Heights, Queens. Because I'd never had other people move my stuff, I was a little anxious (how can you really know you've chosen good movers?), but when Adonis and his crew showed up at my apartment the move was SO much easier and less stressful than I'd anticipated. His entire crew was professional, hard-working, and very friendly. We were out of my apartment in about an hour, and the whole move, including a drive through awful Manhattan traffic and two walk-up apartments, was done in three. Very nice people, very good workers. I would definitely hire them again. If you're skeptical of the perfect 5 star rating -- I was -- don't be: they really are excellent at what they do, not to mention offering fair prices. I hired Adonis moving for a 3 stop move (Manhattan to Queens) and I have to say that he and his team were excellent. They made moving as pleasurable an experience as moving could possibly be. He arrived one (1) hour early for the job, letting me know that he was there and was ready whenever I was. He's a very tall man and has a friendly demeanor. What I appreciated most about him was his expertise on moving large objects. I own a very large massage chair and it is quite heavy. It was the one piece of furniture that I worried the most about however, he never gave in to the demands of moving that chair, he remained calm directing and explaining to his staff how they were going to move that thing and he got that chair through some narrow spaces without incident, although I heard him say a prayer during the last leg. Adonis and his team of 4 were amazing. We started off the day on the wrong foot by me giving them the wrong starting address (long story but only 5 min from the true address at least). They quickly arrived and got to right away wrapping our furniture and within about 1.5 hours our TONS of stuff was safely ready for our move from Suffolk to Queens. Upon arrival the truck was emptied in about 1 hr. Unpacking was a breeze considering nothing was broken or scratched and all of the boxes were put in their desired location. Not only was Adonis and his team professional, they were also friendly, had several nice conversations with my Dad and I and also made sure to show my dog some love! I just had a move by Adonis and his crew from the Bronx,NY to South Carolina. two days ago After stressing for weeks and getting estimates from greedy moving companies online and one of them from the Better Business Bureau listing that had a A+ rating what a joke! Adonis and his team were great to work with. They were on time, responsive, and helpful from the get go. His pricing is extremely reasonable and he's super friendly. Although we ran into an issue getting our couch into our new apartment, and it didn't fit in the stairwell, Adonis was very helpful and polite. It wasn't the fasted move ever, but I'd prefer it to be slower and make sure everything is in good shape. My only tiny con to the move was we ended up with a lot of hand prints and dirt from the movers clothing on our walls, which is proving hard to remove. He was able to accommodate a new move date when a last minute issue on our end cropped us - and when that new date turned out to be a major snow storm, he did not cancel. I needed some things moved in a hurry from my Manhattan apartment to my home in Fairfield County Connecticut. I found Adonis via Google search. I could not have been more pleased. He was able to move some furniture within 24 hours of my contacting him. Adonis was extremely courteous, gave a written estimate and is soft spoken. Just finished an exhausting 3-house move with Adonis and his crew. Essentially moved my home, my mom's home and items in storage from NYC to Baltimore MD. The move took way longer than expected but the crew at Adonis W were amazing. Everything was professionally wrapped packed and loaded onto the truck then unpacked in the new home. I have never written a Yelp review before but was compelled to do so after working with Adonis and his team yesterday on my move. They deserve all five stars, and it isn't surprising that they have a perfect average. Not only did they show up early, but they completed the move from midtown to the west village (full kitchen, living room, bedroom) in under three hours. They took incredible care with all of my things, and even gave me a ride to the new place in their truck. I moved in my new office on Jan. 25th with Adonis and could not complain anything but great! My nephews were supposed to help for my moving and i decided to use movers because of undetectable whether. I called about 12 different movers and could not get any "connected" sense until i talked with Adonis. He sounded sincere and honest in the phone and my guess was exactly right. He made confirmation three times and was in the location 15 minutes earlier than me.
