There was no sign posted stating that minors were not allowed inside without an adult. If there is such a policy, it should be clearly posted and communicated respectfully instead of embarrassing a child. I was also disappointed with the condition of the facility. There was a strong odor of urine throughout the building, and it appeared dirty during my visit. This is the third time we have visited and it always is the case. I understand businesses may have policies, but customers--and especially minors--should be treated with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Our experience instead was met with dispresect, unprofessionalism and even hurt my child's feelings. I would never recommend this location for anyone. In my opinion the owner/ manager should definitely terminate or prevent this worker from ever working there again.

They have cats, dogs, and rabbits. I had the chance to walk a couple of the dogs when meeting them and ask the nice manager questions about the animals. I will be back to visit or volunteer. I know it's a shelter and the animals can get dirty but I do think a couple of them needed a bath but otherwise it's a great shelter with love for the animals. They do their best rescuing from other shelters. All the animals are super friendly I think that goes with caring for them each day they are good with people. My friend got his dog Remy from here and he's the best pup in the world. Would definitely recommend. The white bunny Sam has been here for a year they said she is a white bunny with red eyes and so very very sweet. If anyone is looking for a bun bun she was a really sweet bun.

That's not to say they are the friendliest or most personable--they are actually pretty to-the-point. But honestly, what can you expect when you're underfunded and working in a field where the odds are stacked against you, yet you still show up every day because you love the animals? That was the vibe I got from this place. It isn't the cleanest or fanciest shelter, but they are clearly doing their best to get as many animals off the streets and into loving homes as possible. I really respect the work they're doing and would absolutely work with them again in the future. I also really appreciate that they don't have a ton of hidden fees like I've found with some other shelters. Overall, I'm grateful that they were able to help these three kittens, and I hope they all find wonderful forever homes!

I fostered multiple dogs for her in the past before I foster failed with 2 that I now have. She knew the dogs well and recommended my second one because she knew my first one could be a little difficult with some males. She cares about the dogs and although she may be candid and sound harsh in her tone at times, she's a good person that wants the best for dogs. I would definitely recommend the organization.

To the person who adopted Annie…read more If you adopted a brown chihuahua mix named Annie, I am her foster mom and wanted to you to know a little about her personality. please know she was very loved and she's very smart and knows many commands. She loves her little squeaky piggy toy to play fetch with. She eats Pure farm to bowl small breed kibble brand and bacon treats are her fav. She absolutely hates going potty indoors and if it happens on she will get your attention and wants you to clean it asap. So making sure she goes out to do her business is very important her. Wish I would have been able to give the new family her toys, clothes and just insight on the her daily routine and likes and dislikes. Now my review of the rescue and this is solely my experience with fostering for this rescue. I decided to foster after my dog passed away. They asked me to come in and take a look to see who was a good fit, but when I got there I was immediately given a dog to foster. I was rushed out of there and given the bed, blanket and a bag of food. Laura the person that runs the rescue maybe great with the animals but terrible people skills. When I brought the Annie home she was eating her poop which means she was being starved. We quickly corrected that behavior. Whenever I brought the dog in for an adoption event which for the TWO years I fostered her was only 2 events and one appointment every time Laura stated the dog was overweight at 18lbs mind you she was a chihuahua mix so of course she was not your full breed average weight but this dog was loved, spoiled and kept on a routine of a daily walks to the park and an afternoon walk on the block. She was getting great exercise and proper nutrition with proper vet care because I took on all the financial responsibilities of vet bills and the best minimal ingredient foods. She stated that fat dogs don't get adopted. If a person is going to say this about a dog then they should not be allowed to adopt at all. I never heard from Laura, no one ever checked on the dog. This was so weird to me because how is the dog supposed get adopted if you don't show her at the adoption events. They don't keep up with social media like other rescues. Commutation with this rescue seriously needs to improve. This was probably the worst experience I've had with fostering. The last time I took the Annie in for a potential adoption appointment, was the last time I saw her. Laura promised to upadate me and send a video of her with her new family but I never got that. I asked and she said she was not adopted but never asked me to foster again. I also hesitated to offer because it meant that I would have to continue to deal with Laura. All communication just stopped. They are so crowded but yet don't care to have fosters for their dogs. It wasn't until we checked the website recently that we found out the dog was finally adopted. We are sad that we didn't get to see her adoption and would never help this rescue again.

Eventually he started warming up to us. Over the course of a few months he got closer and closer to our back door. Eventually he started sleeping on our back porch. We had even gotten him a flea collar to keep them away from him. We decided to look around into getting him neutered, but we never planned on keeping him as our own. We simply wanted him to be neutered as to not have him. We looked into this shelter as they said it would be around $70 for the operation and shots. We brought him in today and after his operation they told us that he was "too friendly" and the shelter had to keep him, or they gave us the choice of adopting him. They did not give us any other choice. They NEVER told us this would be the case beforehand. We brought him to prevent more stray cats from being born. The employees were also very rude in person and on the phone. One was on the phone with my mother, and my mother expressed her grievances with the operator, the operator responded with "its not our fault you got attached". What a way to speak to your community. This shelter should be ashamed. Only decided to keep the cat after they saw how friendly he was. He was only this friendly because we took the time to gain his trust. We never intended to adopt him or keep him as a pet. We simply wanted him to live a happy free life, but this shelter took that from him. We even built him a shelter to keep him safe for two weeks after the operation. Take your business to another shelter.
