Stopped by with a group of four last night and had a great time! Space is small and loaded with tables, but doesn't feel crammed. The staff is friendly and attentive, checking in and clearing plates as needed. Our food was great and the portions are large. I got the chicken caesar and it was great! The dressing was delicious. The chicken was a bit dry, but nothing crazy. It's BYOB and they'll handle uncorking and providing ice buckets and glasses. Not my absolute favorite Italian spot in Philly, but worth a try!

We were walking home one Sat evening from another restaurant, when we walked by Adoro....it was packed! I knew it had recently opened, and hadn't thought about trying it, but when I saw so many people there, my curiosity was piqued, and I decided to go. It was early, around 4; on a Tuesday, there was only one other patron there. The venue was very nice and inviting. They brought bread, and a small dish of olive oil, with what appeared to have herbs in it. The bread was slightly toasted and very good, a little crunchy, but soft and tasty. I dipped it in the oil, and was surprised to feel to heat in the spice! I like heat, but unfortunately, it 'doesn't like me'. I can tolerate a little, but only a little - this was too much. I asked for just olive oil, and was brought a little dish. If they're on the menu, I always start with them......meatballs. They weren't on the menu, but I asked if I could get some! They said no problem and asked how many I wanted - I asked for two. They brought them in a cast iron serving dish bathed in marinara and sprinkled with cheese. The meatballs were excellent, so flavorful, hot and great texture! I noticed how fresh and robust the marinara was - it was delicious! However, I tasted a little heat in the marinara, which is unusual. I asked the server if my taste was accurate and he said they put a 'little spice in the sauce'. He said, if I didn't want the spice, they could make up a batch without it. I said I was fine as it was only a slight amount of heat. I ordered the Mushroom Ravioli for my main dish, and asked for a side of spaghetti - the server asked what type of pasta I wanted - he suggested angel hair. I hadn't had angel hair pasta in quite some time, leaning more towards linguine and pappardelle. However, I went with his suggestion. The Mushroom Ravioli was some of the tastiest mushroom raviolis I've had! The pasta was cooked perfectly - the mushroom filling was creamy with the rich, woodsy taste of mushrooms. The sauce had sliced cooked mushrooms in it, which added to the depth of the dish. I love pasta and mushrooms, and this dish was a delight! Last, the angel hair pasta with marinara on the side. It's the thinnest of the Italian pastas, but when it's cooked right, it's long thin noodles provide a light, unique texture and taste like no other! It was amazing and brought back memories of when I used to eat it more often. I made a vow to bring angel hair pasta back into my repertoire. Adoro exceeded my expectations with each dish. It truly was a great Italian meal. However, and that's a big however, the sauce has heat....not a lot, but you know it's there. It's a departure from your 'grandma's gravy', but I know many people like a little spice, and it does accentuate the flavor in a way only spice can.

Had a nice dinner here on a busy Saturday night. It's a BYOB so bring a nice bottle to enjoy with some tasty Italian dishes. It's one big room inside with many tables, and dimly lit with small table lamps if needed. Had the veal Parmesan - very large tenderized piece of veal nicely breaded with ample cheese and sauce on top. The plate also had a serving of spaghetti as well to test the pasta which was fine. Very hearty large portion overall. Tried the pistachio mascarpone cake for dessert - this was excellent. Fluffy whipped pistachio had great flavor, and overall was not super sweet or overpowering. Nice relaxed welcoming BYOB for some Italian food, thanks.

I've walked by Adoro many times as my girlfriend lives in the area, and on multiple occasions have seen the staff sitting outside smoking cigarettes to escape the brutal Philly heat. Talk about authenticity. We came on restaurant week where they had a set menu for $40 and you got an appetizer, a main, and a dessert. SUCH A STEAL! All that for $40 in this economy!?! Shoutout to restaurant week we hittin licks. Although everyone else had the same idea as it was standing room only in here. I went with the caesar salad, the chicken parmesan, and a dessert for my girlfriend and her mom as I simply wasn't born with a sweet tooth... unless it's vanilla ice cream or red velvet cake. Then my sweet tooth steps out of the shadow realm. This chicken parm was phenomenal. A red sauce on top of the cutlet with a healthy portion of mozzarella cheese to tie it all together, and spaghetti on the side. It was a dream. The 2nd best chicken parm I've had in Philly, with only Trattoria Carina besting it. I've said this thousands of times at this point, but in my heart of hearts I believe Philly is the most underrated culinary city in the country. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

This corner Italian restaurant was quite full on a Friday night. I have high expectation due to good ratings. The tables are too close. I could clearly hear all of the conversation of the table next to me. Service was top notch. I accidentally dropped my napkin, a waiter immediately picked it up and replaced it with a clean one. Food came out fast. Fried calamari: fresh and tender served with marinara sauce. Beet salad: thinly sliced beet at the bottom, with arugula, topped with goat cheese and walnut and light dressing. Very good. I usually don't like the bitterness of arugula but this salad isn't bitter at all. I order special of the night: Mahi Mahi with risotto and veggies with light marinara. It was mediocre and the whole dish wasn't cohesive at all, like a cafeteria food put together on a plate. I was expecting a more refined dish 'My husband ordered eggplant parm. It's a huge portion. The breading fell apart and overall it was bland. Dessert: the waiter brought a plate of all of the dessert for us to choose. To my disappointment, they don't have tiramisu. How can an Italian restaurant not offering tiramisu? I saw their instagram post on January 26 displaying their tiramisu. I had decaffeinated coffee. It was so weak and water down, as if I was drinking hot water.

BYO spot, cash or card! I came for an early dinner and the restaurant is beautiful, staff are very attentive and friendly. I enjoyed the beet salad and the tiramisu but the daily special sea bass was extremely garlicky on my visit. I wasn't able to finish it but I'm hoping to be back to try a regular menu item and update my review.

This place is very small but you can still hear everyone at your table which is hard to find! The food was amazing and even though their menu doesn't say it, they have gluten free options! Their penne pasta is gluten free and you can order it with anything you want they're very easy going and didn't make me feel weird about it or anything! The service was quick and everyone was so nice! I went for a family party but it would be such a cute spot for a date night!

So glad we gave this place a shot! New to Queen Village, Adoro is a cozy Italian BYOB with heaping portions and the warmest service. There are a handful of restaurants in Philly that fit the Italian BYO description, and I think Adoro finds its niche in offering some classic Italian dishes with elevated ingredients. I LOVED the risotto porcini and was pleasantly surprised that it came with shrimp for its price. I also think this restaurant has successfully brought the feeling of a true Italian restaurant (not just an Italian American restaurant) to Philly. You get a bit of that with a place like Giorgio on Pine, but this place offers that while being underrated/a secret (for now!). They're new and working out the kinks still, but I'm rooting for this place. I reserved a table for two day-of but I think it'd be a great spot for a group dinner. And don't skip the tiramisu!

While on the hunt for a new Italian restaurant I found Adoro. Philly is a city plastered with quality Italian restaurants so the standards have been set quite high for any new restaurants hoping to enter the market. To this effort,Adoro delivered a unique experience. Environment The restaurant is somewhat small but that's overcome by floor to windows that open up on hotter days. During my visit, one of the pairs of French doors was opened which brought a nice airy feel to the experience. The service was top notch and leaned a touch more towards upscale and less so towards a familial feel(preferred in this instance) Food How were the flavors? Delightful! My expectations for the food were quite low considering Adoro is a new restaurant(per the server they have been open less then 4 weeks). The calamari were crispy yet succulent and the fried mozzarella was sizable. Each of the wife's ventured into "shareable" territory and were massive . I chose a lighter entree of mushroom ravioli which took a backseat tot eh favorability of the calamari. Overall, I would revisit Adoro to check out the rest of the menu. The service coupled with the immense favor infused into each dish makes this a standout Italian restaurant in the Queens Village area. Happy eats!

I really like this little restaurant in South Philly! It's a small, cozy place that just feels so warm and welcoming. I especially love that they use tablecloths, it adds such a nice, homey touch! The staff are friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. I love it here!

We ordered a number of things to share family style - - The Artichoke Francaise appetizer was something we'd never seen before on a menu, so we wanted to try. It was so good and I'm still trying to dupe it at home for my vegetarian hubs. - My husband is a eggplant parm connoisseur, so we also ordered their Eggplant 'Parmigiana' appetizer. He said it was good. - Ricotta Tortelloni was delicious and our favorite savory dish. The aged balsamic cuts through all the richness of the cheeses perfectly. It was so good! - To round off the meal, we ordered dessert and ordered the tiramisu. Glad we did because Giuseppe's & Son's has the BEST tiramisu that either of us has ever tasted. Ava was our waiter that evening. She was the best! When I mentioned my husband was vegetarian, she made sure to clear with him if certain ingredients in the dishes were ok with him. It's a big relief whenever that happens when we dine out. Plus, she was friendly and convivial. The tables at either side of us liked her too. That quality is important and adds to the overall experience for diners. Just had to shout out. Giuseppe's is hands-down a wonderful place and a gem.
