Traveler's Insurance initially hired a crew that was unprofessional, no-showed for three days, and then rushed the job in one day. To make matters worse, the very first rain brought heavy, active leaking inside our home--a problem we never had before. Over the next few weeks, the insurance company sent back the original incompetent crew and two subsequent crews. No one could find or fix the issue, and we were left watching regular water damage ruin the inside of our house. It was incredibly stressful. USAA assigned me to Thomasville for a custom door replacement as part of the restoration process. Because the loss is extensive, the rebuild is being completed in stages. Corey from Thomasville provided an estimate of approximately $3,000 for work that he specifically stated: 1. Is not within Thomasville's primary area of expertise. 2. Could be completed by a handyman. Given those statements, I began seeking additional contractors for that portion of the work while continuing to move forward with the remaining restoration items. I was then informed that Thomasville would not perform any of the work unless they were awarded the entirety of the project. When I spoke with Christine, Corey's supervisor, I was told that unless they received the bulk of the work, it was not worth their time. This was disappointing, especially when there are portions of the scope they acknowledge are outside their specialty. As a Baltimore homeowner trying to restore my property after a major loss, I was looking for a contractor willing to perform the work they were qualified to do. Right from the first moment on the phone I knew that Daryl and Rapid Restoration would be the company we would go with. He gave me a thorough education about the process and gave me helpful advice right from the first moment. His help over the phone was always clear and accurate. He set us on the right path immediately. Seth and his crew were in our house within 48 hours to do the mitigation and boy were they thorough. The floor was pulled up, the room was disinfected and dried. And all the while, Daryl and Seth made sure that we had the documentation and backup necessary to communicate with our homeowners insurance company. With the mitigation done, the crew came back a few weeks later to actually do the repairs and get our floors back to the condition they were in before. This was equally impressive. The workmanship was truly beautiful. Seth has a great eye for design and color. Everything matches and looks beautiful. Our insurance made us whole on the plumbing work, but fought us on restoring our basement back to its previous finished state. This is where Rapid Response came in. Do not hire this company. They did not complete work as discussed and uses deceptive business…read morepractices. The person who comes out for initial inspection tells you all of the appropriate things, but then after that things fall apart. They refused to send us a report or written estimate of work to be included because it was "at their minimum fee and all work would be done as discussed." That was our mistake for trusting their word. Three workers were at our house for one hour, typically with two just standing around chatting while one person did something, and we were charged $800 (their minimum). When we emailed to note things that were not done as discussed, they said they would not return to complete the job scope we agreed to. The person who came out to do the estimate then lied and mislead the office on what was discussed, and again, since they refused to put the scope of work in writing, we are just left with a half finished job. They are untrustworthy and will leave you with needing to hire someone else to complete the job they started.
