If you haven't been here, you are sleeping big time !! I think the name outside can make this seem like an ordinary place but go inside !! lol the service is always friendly and the food is great! It's always fresh and hot. This time they served us in a boat lol I ordered catfish and my bf ordered grouper. They offer so many things beyond just fish and chips. It's a Peruvian restaurant also. My 6yo told me he wanted to try lobster rolls so of course I had to find a place near us in Apopka with good reviews. We stopped by for lunch during the week and sat at the bar. The lady serving us was so helpful and kind -- I had a meeting put on my calendar and she made sure we got our food in a timely manner so I could make it back home. The lobster rolls were delicious! We were in Altamonte Springs area and decided to find a place to eat. My husband is pescatarian and I am a full on meat eater so sometimes it's a challenge to find a place we both like. Well we stumbled upon Adrian's Fish and Chips and could not have been more pleased. We had no expectations as they advertised as Peruvian Fish and Chips and we had no idea what that meant. We had the conch fritters as an appetizer and I had the sangria. They both were unlike things we have had other places. For our meals I got the fried clam strips and my husband got the Peruvian combo platter. It was all incredible! Sandra C was our server she was just the right amount of attentive and helpful when we had questions. Our meals were served on boats which was just adorable if you ask me. I never had a bad experience with them before today. I asked for a grouper sandwich with no blacking season, as it makes me sick. Got the sandwich, picked it up, and it just dripped water. Took a few bites, and there was blacking season on it. Went to pay the bill and told the waitress that there was seasoning on it, and I did not think it was grouper, as it was very thin, almost like flounder, and not as white or flaky as grouper. I think they took a blackened fish and tried to wash the seasoning off, which accounts for the water that came out, but of course some of the seasoning remained on the fish. Even showed her some pepper flakes from the fish. She called the manager, who denied everything or make any adjustment, so basically I paid $20 for an order of fries. Will never go back again, and yes, I am sick to my stomach from the seasoning. read more

Really delicious blackened cod is what my eyes immediately zoned in on when I saw it on the menu, and I am so glad I stuck with my first instinct. The fish was so delicate, flaky, yet tender and juicy. The side of roasted veggies were cooked very well, not too soft but not too hard. I also appreciate that they took the time and care to properly prepare my order to-go by placing the veggies and the fish separately in aluminum foil because it kept the food hot and captured the butter and blackening seasons in its pouch. My mom loves clam strips and also appreciates tartar sauce that isn't so pickle forward, so she was happy with her meal. I mean, give her a hush puppy and we have a winner! However, one thing if we could edit it would be to lighten the batter so it isn't more than the clam. The ratio needs to be adjusted of breading and clam, but it's still good and excellent seafood quality. read more

This place is chaos disguised as a restaurant. The manager is also the server and repeatedly ran away mid-order, making it impossible to even finish ordering. No one in the restaurant is a native English speaker, and there was no effort to repeat orders back or confirm anything, which predictably led to mistakes. My son's order was brought out wrong. The manager argued with me that it was correct, then contradicted herself by saying she had asked him if it was right. How would a child know the order was wrong if she never repeated it back and admitted she "didn't hear him"? Instead of fixing the mistake, she refused to correct it. Our daughter's burger arrived 15 minutes after everyone else's food, long after the table was done eating. Again--no apology, no explanation. Paying was somehow even worse. When it came time to split the bill among three families, she first said it couldn't be done--then suddenly it could. We waited nearly 35 minutes just to pay, and when the bill finally came, it was wrong three times. Each time, we were made to sit back down while it was "fixed." The food was good. Everything else was a mess. Poor communication, zero accountability, and completely unprofessional management. Good food does not excuse service this dysfunctional. We will not return. read more

Ordered the swordfish, but was served a filet that looked and tasted like grouper or mahi or similar. Not sure what kind of fish filet it was, but it definitely was not a swordfish cut or flavor. Pointed out nicely that I ordered swordfish, thinking they just brought me the wrong plate by mistake - no big deal. Server and chef insisted "it is swordfish." It was most definitely not. It was tasty, but I will not go back to a seafood restaurant that either doesn't know the difference between types of fish or purposefully deceives their customers. I would have not minded if they had said "We're out of swordfish" and I would have ordered something different. This wasn't the way to handle it and win customer trust. There was one server for the entire restaurant. She was very sweet but couldn't keep up with every table's needs in a timely way. We loved this place when it was Ray's. Unfortunately the 3 times we have been since it has been under new ownership have been less than average experience, for various reasons. This last one was the last straw for me. read more

I have had Adrian's probably 3 times now. This 3rd time is definitely my last. One waitress for the whole place so she was running her butt off. I asked her for a to go cup to start out with so if I didn't finish my drink that I could take it with me. It was a small to go cup so when I was done with dinner and my drink I was going to ask for a refill. I took the lid off and to my surprise there sat 2 flies on top of the ice. I'm a sucker for some good fried fish which has been hard to come by in my area. So the name drew me in. While I ordered fried shrimp, the husband got the fried fish which was well seasoned. They did fall short with the crisp after asking for it to fried well but the taste supersede that miss. The shrimp were large, fresh and tasty. Lastly, the boast plate/presentation made my day. My dad always finds the most random places. We decided to give this place a try. The restaurant is tucked away in a shopping plaza in Apopka. Unassuming from the exterior, but pleasant once inside. They offer dual menus--fish and chips and other standard seafood dishes, but another menu with Peruvian specialties. We ordered a tostones appetizer that had avocado and fresh crab meat on top of fried plantains drizzled with a spicy sauce. Our main course was a combination platter that had the jalea (fried mixed seafood), chaufa (Peruvian fried rice), and ceviche. Everything tasted great, and the portions were very generous. I'm leaning into a sense of hope and potential for this business. The menu is a little difficult to read. Stylistically the tried a light blue of the sea white white font. I'd encourage changing it particularly for seniors (I'm representing them). I love sea food. I asked the server and her suggestion was the Jalea which I pictured. I will say it was enough for two. I went here on a Thursday at around 5 or 6pm. It was not very crowded, there was some music playing but it was not obnoxiously loud. For someone with severe anxiety, it was the most do-able restaurant I have been to since moving to the area. I got fried fish plate around the cheaper side, and it was very good. The breading was on the thinner side, not super crispy but the flavor was good and the fish was not over cooked and tasted fresh. Got our food out in a moderate time, was not fast but also did not have to wait forever. The outside of the shop was semi-inviteing but the inside was very nice. What an amazing find. Got the story that the original owner passed on, and his wife found a buyer who agreed to keep the menu and atmosphere to please the loyal patrons of the original. Was named Ray's Fish and Chips. Everything on the menu was fresh and delicious. The staff was amazing, and our fellow patrons were so friendly. We were able to get one of the only two tables outside. So, our only negative would be that they could commandeer more space to expand their patio. Will be back our next time in Orlando. read more

We ate there with family from Florida who had been there before. They love it there. So this is just my and my wife's perspective. We've dined at Peruvian restaurants before and this place just doesn't match up. I guess anytime a restaurant offers two different forms of cuisine - buyer or diner beware. I ordered a rice seafood dish which was dry. The fish just didn't seem fresh. My wife ordered a pasta and beef dish where the pasta was also very dry and everything tasted salty. It was so unappealing we hardly ate much of the food. Plus, the restaurant charged over $4 for credit card usage. Another sign the restaurant is in trouble and food may not be so fresh. If you're looking for Peruvian, find a more established place that knows what they want to serve. read more

So the food is amazing. We've eaten there twice, off of both menus. No bad food either time. However, the first time we tried it we were there for literally two hours, the staff is not very communicative... The owner did end up being very friendly and kind at the end, we chalked it up to a bad night for them , it happens. We tried it again today, a Saturday late lunch. They're not at all busy... the service is just incredibly slow, very underwhelming experience. the food was again pretty good, but please, if the owners read this, you have to fix your wait staff. Lacking in personality but more importantly how to time a meal, how to return with items requested, and in todays case offered. He asked the kids if they wanted ketchup, they said yes, he never came back. We had been done eating for 10 minutes and I ended up going inside to pay because the server hadn't brought the check yet. Personally for me the food is not worth the likelihood of mediocre, slow or bad service. We waited for menus and a greeting just a bit too long, where we had debated leaving, waited for waters a bit too long, food wait wasn't that bad but nothing arrived together, waited too long for a check... just don't go unless you have tons of time and don't mind waiting. Five star food, two star service, 3 star place. We probably won't go back. It's a bummer. read more

We have not been here since new owners took over the former Ray's Fish & Chips on Hunt Club. I had Cod and Mrs had shrimp. Both were crash and hot when brought to the table and delicious! We both had a salad and hush puppies. They also offer Peruvian food which we will try next time. Service was slow but we were not in a hurry. Our server was attentive and very nice. Only negative was fish prices were not posted on the board that the menu refers to. At least not a board we could see. read more
