I'm sure my jaw dropped the first time I saw a "Bearcat," Adriatico's largest pizza--the size of a standard breakfast nook--back when Adriatico's was housed in a one room storefront on Jefferson Avenue. Gaping mouth. Insert the pizza that would instantly render my elementary school's best cafeteria offering, a thing they called "pizza," no longer a favorite. Adriatico's is all grown up now with an actual restaurant--dine-in seating, a full bar, and an expanded menu. It's a college joint, for sure, but that hasn't stopped me from taking work colleagues there because the draw remains the same--really good pizza. Thick crust or thin, spicy red sauce, your choice of giant pepperoni, slabs of Canadian ham, chunks of Italian sausage, and every vegetable imaginable. My colleagues and I visited for lunch based on the Yelp reviews. We were all impressed with the food and the service. I ordered the Veggie Zoni (calzone) which was outstanding. Fresh veggies, crispy crust on the calzone and filled with melted mozzarella cheese. I ordered it with the garlic butter as opposed to the pizza sauce. While the garlic butter was great, I probably should have taken the pizza sauce which would have fully complimented the Zoni. Trevin was our waiter and did a great job keeping our Diet Cokes full---- even from a distance. He had replacements even before the glass was empty. Next time I'll try the pizza. read more

My son had heard good things about Adriatico's pizza, so we decided to go there for a dine-inch lunch. Parking was a little tricky. There was a pay lot next to the restaurant, but we found it expensive. We bypassed the lot and drove a little way down the road until we found metered street parking. Upon seeing the exterior of the building, it struck us as a restaurant that had been around for a while. It seemed a bit dated and maybe a bit neglected. When we stepped inside, we felt pretty much the same vibe. The dining room seemed clean enough, but dated and a bit worn looking. Clearly could use some general maintenance and TLC. It didn't turn us off completely, though, and had a comfortable, homey feel. Service was fine. Not outstanding, but adequate. It did take a while to get our food. We enjoyed hot breadsticks with dipping sauce and a hand-tossed specialty pizza. Pizza was nice and hot, and above average pizza chain quality. We didn't feel it was best we have ever had, though. After eating here, my son, and I went to run some errands. We found that we were both absolutely incredibly thirsty, and ended up stopping to buy bottles of water due to our incredible thirst. Although it didn't seem like the food tasted, especially salty, we both wondered what the sodium content might have been to make us both so extremely thirsty all afternoon. We both concluded that we would be fine with eating here again. The food was good, the service was good, and there was nothing that we felt was particularly negative in our experience. For takeout, I ordered a large Sicilian pizza with a side salad. The pizza was cooked to perfection, as always. They seem incorporate banana peppers in many of their menu items, which works for me as I'm a big fan. The crust is soft but crunchy at the same time. Their sauce is what set Adriatico's apart from the rest of the crowd. It's has a strong tomato flavor with a touch of spice. I could eat the sauce alone like a bowl of soup. My kids are even agreeing that it's now their favorite pizza. If in Cincinnati for a visit or if you live here and have not tried Adriatico's. I would recommend you definitely give them a shot, as they are a local UC Campus staple. read more

So, unlike every other Cincinnatian, I have mixed feelings on the pizza. It's definitely very yummy! But it doesn't blow me away. HOWEVER the jalapeño poppers are literally to die for. They are some of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. Especially when they have jus the right amount of heat, with a crispy shell on the outside. Sometimes I go here just to get the poppers after a long day. The servers and hosts are always friendly. What makes this 4 stars for me is I just don't love bars or restaurants with this type of vibe. It isn't my preference. Picked up a large pizza tonight for dinner. Got it home and started eating it. It was undercooked beyond the edges. This happened last time I carried out, a few years ago, and I chalked it up to post-pandemic kinks that needed worked out. Was really disappointed to experience it again. Adriatico's was one of our go to places in college and we love to stop by anytime we are back in Clifton! We love their Sicilian crust pizza and Parmesan breadsticks. They also have an extensive beer menu (all on tap) and they change it periodically based on the season. Their prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes. We also love to come down during their happy hours because the deals are incredible! It can get pretty crowded, but if you get there for an early dinner you can be seated immediately. Our food always comes out quickly and the wait staff is attentive with refills and anything else we might need. This is a typical sports bar so they have plenty of TVs throughout playing whatever game is on. They also have really awesome brewery decorations and tap heads. OK let's start with the ambience and customer service before I move onto the food... this place is a whole vibe!!! Love love love! I'm so glad I decided to eat here tonight. My only regret is that I'm leaving in the AM and can't come again. Customer service is awesome!!! You'll be immediately greeted at the door and provided with eye contact...oh my whatever happened to eye contact. Lol. I actually felt like I was the only customer in the joint when the server was talking my order. To top it off the bartender (not the server) brought me my drink and then circled back around to see how it was WHAT?!?!? It was PERFECT by the way. Ok now on to the pie...yummy!!! I know it's hard to rave about pizza but damn this is the best damn pie I've had in a long time! When she finally did come to the table I had to stop her from walking away and point out that I had empty beer and empty water glasses, as I choked on average pizza.
