We love having a local place that doesn't just feel like a chain. We need more in blue ash. We visit often. We love the food and the local support of the schools. Kids love coming after games. The food was all over cooked and dry! The service was meh. I came in with two kids. We were quickly sat with one menu. We put our drink order in and I assumed they had no kids menu since it wasn't listed on the menu I was given. I order my 4 year old a $15 order of chicken fingers and fries only to find out they do have a kids menu and we just weren't offered one. no offer was made to reduce the order of chicken tenders to a kids size. I got a fish sandwich and it was the driest almost hollow piece of fish I've ever had in my life. The bun looked like it had been in the freezer for a good six months and then served to me. Everything was burnt and hollow from the chicken tenders to the pieces of fish to the mozzarella cheese sticks empty because they were so burnt and so overcooked. We went for their happy hour which is BOGO appetizers (amazing deal I know!)! The server was very nice and attentive throughout our dinner. I tried Mac's in Blue Ash today because they have volunteered to be the home of the Greater Cincinnati Browns Backers. Slatts decided they didn't want our business 2 weeks before the season started. Mac's gladly stepped up and gave us a new home. That being said, all I saw was smiling faces greating me and welcoming me to their establishment. This is an improvement over Mio's, which was formerly in this location, and started going downhill after the pandemic started. I'm also familiar with two other Mac's locations, Clifton and Landen. The food is the same as these but the atmosphere is different - more a standard pizza pub vs the dive bar vibe in Clifton and the sports / volleyball vibe in Landen. Good for families and we took our two kids. We had a large pizza - half Flying Pig and half cheese for the kids (note we were charged for a full specialty - which is fine). We also had a basket of fries and an order of cheese curds. We left with a few pieces of pizza leftover. Everything was very good and hot. I really liked the curds. It was $68 with tip - normal to me in these times to feed a family of four at a sit down restaurant. That includes two soft drinks and a beer. The draft beer menu was good. Service was prompt and plenty of TVs showing the Bengals game. It seemed our waitress was still learning the ropes but we had no problems. They have some very unique pizza flavors liked French Fry Pie or Chicago Gyro, as well a selection of other pub food like burgers and apps. Here's what we had: Potato Skins 1/2 Buffalo Chicken Pizza 1/2 Mac-Attack Pizza Everything was very tasty! I liked that the Mac-Attack had ground bison on the pizza with offered a variation on the classic ground beef. Have only been at the Landen one in the past, and always enjoyed it, but friends recommended this one so I thought I'd stop in and check it out. Lots of happy hour specials and I was looking for a basic pepperoni pizza. I have been bummed by most places because the sauce just has not hit the spot. So now we shall see what this is like since it just got set in front of me. Ok, so the pizza was ok. Sauce did not grab me but was not bad either. Cheese was good and crust also good. But I'm still looking for that pizza. I came here because Brooklyn Pizza in Montgomery was closed, and honestly I was not wowed. But what did wow me was their happy hour specials and the bartender, Erin. Her memory was amazing and her service was right up there as well. So, if you come here and I would not want to scare you away, sit at the bar, especially if Erin is working. And so many things were buy one get one free so bring a friend. read more

Total Score: 37/50 Mac's appears to be exactly what you'd expect from a restaurant that calls itself a pizza-pub. But there are a handful of small subversions on this tried and true genre of restaurant, most of which were quite nice! Let me explain why. Food: 19/25 I had a caesar salad as an appetizer, which was nondescript, which is a good thing for something so simple. What I really visited for was the pizza, however, and I was not disappointed. The pizza was good! It had fresh jalapeños, which is very unusual for restaurants of similar genre. That was certainly a welcome surprise. The other toppings were of similar quality. There was a generous amount of cheese on the pizza, too. The crust seemed like it was homemade, which is, again, unusual for this sort of place. However, the dough was a bit too chewy and soft for my liking. Other than that, the food was very satisfactory. Service: 9/10 The staff was very welcoming, respectful, and attentive, the latter of which is notable due to how crowded the restaurant was. Their attitudes were a little bit casual too, in a way dissimilar to most other restaurants; they were pleasant and conversational. Presentation: 6/10 The restaurant's appearance was adequate, with a few small bonuses. First were the small punny posters lining the entrance. Nice touch! Another unexpected choice is the multitude of arcade games. I thought they felt a bit tacky, but this downside was cancelled out by my inner child thinking "Wow, that's awesome!" Value: 3/5 My party's average price came to be about $17.50 per person. That's about on-par with similar restaurants, especially considering the few side dishes we bought. One personal pizza costs around $10, which is, again, perfectly reasonable. At the end of the day, Mac's is a solid pizza pub type restaurant, but it improves on that reliable formula in those small surprises I discussed. We were lucky enough to stop in Macs the first night they opened. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated right away even though they were very busy. Blue Ash has needed a place like Macs for a while, glad they are here! They have a big menu including pizza, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and game time appetizers and snacks! My husband was very pleased with his boneless wings and waffle fries. Trying to stay on a healthier track I enjoyed the BLT salad with chicken and it was so good! I ordered through door dash tonight. Items were missing. When I called I was directed to contact door dash and re order the items or get a refund. I explained re ordering would cost more since this was a FREE side item and add on side salad. The manager did offer to remake the items if we wanted to pick them up. I said what would have been nice was an apology for not sending the whole order. Her response "well that cakes been baked now hasn't it"? I have been here a few more times since my last review. 2 more issues that led me to move 3 stars to 2. Issue 1: Ordered 12 wings with 6 in two flavors. 'ALL' 12 wings were drums. No flats. Asked the waitress if you have to ask for flats. She said there is suppose to be equal amount of drums to flats. She said they would correct it next time I was in for wings. Issue 2: I wanted to go with a lunch special. Meal with drink for $9.99. I first wanted a small pizza. I asked if mushroom sauce could replace pizza sauce. I was told no, but the server couldn't explain why other than what it costs them since they don't purchase in bulk like other sauces. Kitchen mgr or whoever came out and explained that the sauce was too thick and would come out cold. My first thought was, how is it warm on a hoagie, but cold on a pizza?? I didn't bother to respond as I knew it wouldn't go anywhere. She also said "it would cost me a small fortune". Ummm. ok. A small pizza is not that much bigger than a hoagy. So, I pivoted to another lunch special. Burger with side. I even pointed to the lunch special menu while ordering. For the side I asked for tots. Waiter said "tasty tots"? I said sure not knowing what that meant, but wasn't concerned since I literally pointed to the lunch menu. My order came out with a small amount of tots with a sprinkling of shredded cheese and a very marginal amount of bacon bits that were packed in the center. When I got the check it was for $23 bucks. I inquired about the lunch special price and he said the price was higher since I got tasty tots. I was also charged for a drink. I did receive a 'sorry about that' but no offer to correct the bill. or ever at least remove the drink. Basically I was charged close to $14 more for a fountain drink and a small amount of cheese and bacon bits. I'm sure it could have been corrected which would have made me return again. Nahhhh.. After reading the reviews we decided to give this place a try and we were HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED . I understand food prices are high but I feel ripped off. It's be different if the food was of good quality, but it wasn't. The loaded fries were a joke. You have to pay an upcharge for the *premium* side only for you to receive a meager portion with a bit of cheese and bacon. A bowl of chili equals to about 3 spoonfuls for $7. A slice of cheesecake isn't even a full size piece nor is it homemade. The cheesecake is store bought and sliced into 16 pieces. Overall this place isn't worth your money. I've been frequenting the Mac's establishment for a while. The food quality is seriously lacking. I ordered an 8 slice pizza one time with jalapeños, it came out with 7 chunky slices of jalapeños. I just went in today and ordered boneless wings. I got 7 pieces smaller than a Mc nugget for over $10. The Blue Ash location definitely needs better management and cooks. I was so excited when they opened. Now it just sucks. Go to the Landen location. It's way better. read more

Been here twice now. Once with my wife and once by myself. Food is great if you like pub food and pizza like me. Pizza has a nice crust and it's saucy the way it. I had the supreme pizza and 6 wings. It was yummy. The wings were great too. My wife had chicken cassadias but said the chicken was not chopped up enough. Barender was a pro and did a great job. Overall atmosphere is good with a good music choice that's not too much in your face. Witnessed management interactions a few times and they were very professional. I will return for sure. read more
