It can be so intimidating asking for automotive advice (especially when you have A LOT of questions as this caller apparently had) and wow, such a relief when the professional you get takes TIME to explain everything without condescension, as Naomi did for them. I saw I was an exit away from this store (#02700) and stopped for a replacement. They honored the request even though the wiper was along I-95. When they tried to install the Rain X blade it wouldn't connect. Checking the passenger wiper it fell off in the technicians hand. Long story short was they used another brand that connected to both wipers and got me back on the road. The staff went above and beyond to repair replace and offer great customer service. You know sometimes we get exceptional service so many times that we take it for granted. Becomes…read morethe norm, you might say. A business model you could infer. But on the evening of March 22, 2025 I was the recipient of exceptional, very exceptional service. Lazy Saturday it was until my teenager made the distress call- car not starting. Drove to her location and jump started her car then drove straight to Advanced Auto - short pump. Exceptional patient understanding service is what I received as I explained the situation. Team member was responsive enough to provide me with a much better battery than the.one.in.the vehicle. And the AA team was just beginning. I was in for a real treat when Mr Carroll wheeled out his tool cart and got to the new battery installation. I have been on several ends of auto personnel treatment- mostly different when i am with a 2024 year vehicle than with an older vehicle. As a matter of fact, in another automobile workshop I was told, boldfaced and all, that nothing could be done for my older vehicle. A statement I would file away as I, carefully, stayed clear of that shop - with the newer vehicles and same older vehicle they'd written off. 7years after that remark, the vehicle is still running okay. So Mr Carroll installed this battery meticulously. Not just dumping it in but carefully tightening the terminals, ensuring snug fitting, applying anti-corrosives and yes wait for it...ensuring that there was no red battery light on the dashboard after installation. Thank you team AA short pump. Thank you for being consumate professionals. This evening, by your unplanned actions, I have passed the AA baton to my teenage daughter. You have a new customer.

They reset it in 2 minutes with OBD scanner. Difference in attitude and support was memorable.

I went to Advance Auto Parts in Lightfoot to get battery checked on 18 Jan as my battery wasn't…read moreholding a charge. A short baldish 30 something year old put the tester on the battery and said my alternator was bad (car only has 53000 miles). Since car wouldn't start I asked for a jump as I had my own jumper cables. He said no "sorry your day isn't going well." Got a friend to bring their car there and quickly jumped started. Took car to local dealer who tested the battery and it wasn't holding a charge ( only 80) and the alternator was fine pushing 13.7 volts. Had the dealer replace the battery. This Advance Auto Part employee had no idea what he was doing and the other two there didn't care. He also said clicking sound when turning the ignition was because of the alternator which is complete BS As that sound is the starter. I will never use this place again and will tell everyone I know about this shoddy business.
