Shawn then went and picked out the blades for me, which was great. He didn't automatically go for the most expensive brand like some car shops do , but picked something the middle range (that work GREAT btw). Then comes the problem - my rear wiper blade hadn't been replaced probably ever, and the rubber piece had completely come off. He then went outside in the freezing sleet, to try and fit not one, not two, but THREE different types/sizes of wiper blades on my car for me. I am so, so pleased with the customer service I received. I had no expectations of him putting the blades on for me, let alone trying multiple times to find something that worked for my rear windshield.

This location sits directly beside an Auto Zone, but since Advance Auto advertises the free battery testing and replacement services, I choose Advance. The associate was incredibly helpful and attentive. The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was how he talked around the core fee and how it works. You know how you catch someone in a lie and they take detours instead of providing a straight answer? He was honest but very indirect about it. The math on the screen told me everything I needed to know. The core refund is just a wash, not a discount on the price of the battery, i.e., they added $22 to the price of the battery and then took the $22 off. Anyways, he replaced the battery very quickly and we were promptly on our way. As easy as it is to change a battery, I still hope they never stop offering this gratis service.

Rather than have me wait perhaps 4 or 5 hours while they got and installed the new tires, Julie offered to take me home and, when the work was done, she came to my house to take me back to the shop to get my car. I want to compliment and highly recommend having your vehicle serviced at the Midas Short Pump, on Broad St. and Short Pump Rd. The personal attention and service I received was way beyond anything I could hope for. Everyone was courteous , efficient, effective, and clearly operating to the adage "the customer comes first". For example, I was quoted roughly $800 for tires. After doing some comparison shopping, I was able to purchase and install name-brand tires from another reputable local shop for approximately $430. One recommendation that particularly raised concerns was the replacement of a battery tray. I was quoted $187 for the repair and told that the condition could cause the vehicle to fail Virginia state inspection. After researching Virginia inspection requirements, I was unable to find any specific guideline indicating that a loose battery tray alone would automatically result in a failed inspection. While inspection interpretations can vary depending on the circumstances, the explanation provided felt questionable and came across more as a sales tactic than a clear safety concern. Thankfully, Alex Utz (General Manager) and Aaron Mason (General Sales Manager) saw our situation and immediately stepped in to help. They went above and beyond by arranging for a mechanic, who had already gone home for the day, to come back and assist us. They even stayed open an hour past closing to make sure we were taken care of. Not only did they help us get back on the road, but they did so at a very reasonable cost. Because of their kindness, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile, we were able to make it home in time for Father's Day. I consistently have to add oil to my car like every two weeks and there's no leak according to the dealership. I took my car back to the dealership a few days ago for an oil change, a state inspection, and one of my tires what almost flat. Had to leave overnight and the lady at the desk very rudely told me to fill out the drop box paper. I asked where the drop box was and she simply gestured and said "that way" with no clear instruction. I repeated "where?" And again just "that way". Okay so now I drive around the building and fill out the little form explaining what I need done the next day and drop it off. The next day comes and the guy, Chad, doesn't even act like he read the sheet. He was like "I didn't see anything about tires" and I had written out what was going on. I even wondered if they were mixing up my car with someone else's. I went in when it was done and the lady at the cash register was really rude and acted like she hated her job. On top of that they tried to sell me work that I had just gotten done so it was obvious they hadn't even checked those things and we're just trying to get over $400 out of me on a $23 part that I had just gotten replaced. I don't know what's going on in this place, but I wouldn't recommend going here or getting any kind of service done.
