Every time I walk in, I'm greeted by knowledgeable, friendly staff who genuinely want to help and actually know their stuff. I walk in with so many questions and they always take the time to make sure I get the right parts and understand my options. The store is well-organized, the prices are competitive, and the convenience of having exactly what I need in stock saves me so much time. Sometimes, like today, I call in ahead of time and that makes my visit there go even more smoothly. I was helped by Jerimiah when I called and was serviced by Marcos and Cristian. I'm a woman & I love how patient, reliable and safe with my interactions and purchases I feel when they're there to help. I've walked into this place on three occasions. Each time no one budged to acknowledge me even in the store. Even walking up to the counter they could care less here. ok so lets start by the last time I used this location was in 2019 before I left the state for 1 year. They told me that they were closed at 8:45pm.... I needed a headlight. They said no one will be able to ring you up. That was tough enough to believe. and just lazy.... Lets fast forward to today..... 2021. Walked in for a quart of oil. No one in the shop to help me at all. Then I see someone behind the counter and he says " I hope the F&ckign quit".. looks at me and retreats to the back area. 5 minutes later comes out and says "you ready?".... I understand retail is a pain to work in. Ive done it for 14 years. But if you're done dealing with people, go collect garbage or dig holes in the ground or something. These folks have stunk for years now and prob won't change anytime soon....... read more

I have been coming to this store on multiple occasions since it's Grand Opening. My main problem with this place is the check out and price tags. The check out system sucks. The reps seem too busy socializing with one another while they are scanning my order. I got to hear at length about how many single dollar bills prior to my purchase had paid in a $60 order, and how that customer just got paid by their stripe club! I stared blankly at this person, while myself and father both looked on in aw at the complete and utter lack of professionalism that was being displayed. I went here today and heard this garbage. This wasn't the first time something like this happened. On another occasion, two male reps were socializing while ringing my order, and were talking about how a certain product removes the order left behind when smoking marijuana! I'm all for the legalization of weed, but I don't want to hear about your drug use while I'm shopping at your store picking up transmission fluid. Last but not least, every time I shop here something is mis-tagged. I'll walk over and show them the price tag, and they refuse to honor it. Each time it is never corrected. This has happened twice with a flashlight, and once with an oil filter. Apparently, I'm stupid because I didn't read further details of the tag besides the price! Its for a version of something that isn't on the shelf or was just mis-stocked. This place sucks. Its personal are far from stellar. I feel stuck shopping here because it is so close to my home. After today, I will be driving twice even three times the distance to avoid this subpar establishment. PS. Turn Signal lights, if they're ever restocked, are $6. I have shopped here many times and find excellent products for reasonable prices! I would absolutely suggest this location for car parts and assistance. The parking lot is pretty small, but the service is really helpful. I went there this week for a break light, expecting to be laugh at because I have a 2011 Saturn. This guy Gil said hi when I walked in, I pointed at my car and asked if they made break lights for it. He said he knew they did, but typed it in just in case and said YUP! He found the light for me, rang it up, and even convinced me to make another purchase of this magnetic LED light that I was playing with at the cash register (I bought it for my dad who goes fishing a lot). I'm not a car-savvy kind of girl and made a "Wish me luck!" kind of comment as I was leaving, and he said he'd help! He came to my car, opened the trunk and saw that he needed to unscrew some things. He walked to his own car to get tools, put the light in and made sure it worked when I stepped on the break. While he was helping me, I noticed other employees walking people to their cars with their bags, even when the bags weren't very heavy. It made an errand I was worried about really easy, quick, and pleasant. I would recommend this location to anyone who asked about it. read more

Store is OK but the main problem is the check out process. The employees are usually socializing or arguing with one another, cursing and being decidedly unprofessional towards the customers. I love going in to get what I need but dread standing in line and having to deal with the employees. read more

Anytime I go to an auto parts store such as this up in my area the first thing they do is ignore you. They ignore you like it's their job...wish I got paid to ignore people at my place of work. This place is definitely not what I expected. I stared at wiper blades for about 3 seconds and the gentleman from behind the counter (even though he was on the phone helping someone else) asked if I needed help...I was the only one in there at the time. I told him what I needed wiper blades for and he looked it up instantaneously. He even ran into the back after putting the call on hold to get the rear wiper blade for me. Absolutely the best, I may even have to go back even though it's out of the way for me. read more

I went to the store today to seek assistance before the impending snow storm. Due to recent surgery, I was on crutches, and was not really moving around well. I was greeted by Chris, who was kind, helpful and considerate as anyone could hope to expect. He helped me with the items I needed, bagged them, and then without any hesitation took them to the car. I never asked for that, nor did I expect it. But, I certainly did appreciate it. I have been in this store before. The employees are always helpful, but today went way beyond. You can tell when people are real and its them, or they have been trained to do whatever. You can't fake the kind of thoughtful assistance I received today. I see that 4 out of the other 4 reviews on here rate this store at 5 stars. Make this review the 5th! read more

Tonight Advance Auto Parts in Fair Lawn earned me as a customer for life! After getting a jump start, my wife drove to AAP to get her battery checked out. The technician determined her battery and alternator were fine, but that she needed a new starter. My wife asked if they could install the starter (not a service they normally provide) and they said yes. For an hour, the store owner and a mechanic (non-employee I think) worked on my wife's car in the cold and dark. They planned to send her own her way after completing the repair without additional charge (so she insisted on giving them a generous tip). What incredible service. Bravo!!!! read more

My experience here was very underwhelming. I went in to purchase a new car battery and expected simple free install service like they advertise. Boy was I in for a surprise! Off the bat, the woman behind the counter seemed agitated that I was there to purchase a battery so close to the end of their hours. I would understand this issue if I came in 30 mins before the end of the day, but I was there at two hours before closing. Next after they finally agreed to install the battery for me, the guy seemed completely incompetent. He screwed around with the supports for the battery for about 25 minutes and the complete install took nearly 45 minutes! I actually had to re-do most of his work when I got home and researched the proper way to secure a battery. DO NOT GO HERE EXPECTING GOOD SERVICE. read more

He was super friendly and also help me to put the new one on . Thanks for extra service and the only early store open. Otherwise, I have to drive one more night without head light. Definitely a fan of these guys. The personnel working at this particular store are worth this shout out. These guys went above and beyond for my wife! And I say this with the utmost respect. My wife was on her way to work when she caught a flat and had pulled into the lot. I guess one of the guys saw her and went outside. He ended up helping her take off her tire and putting on the spare til she was able to get to a tire shop. Awesome! read more

I went into the store to purchase a cabin air filter, and engine air filter due to a flashing maintenance required light. The salesman got both parts for me and informed me of a rebate. I went home to change both parts and had issues with the engine filter. He came out and changed it for me they also reset the maintenance light for me. So nice to go to a place where the sales people are helpful. read more
