This used to be an amazing Advance Auto Parts store, thoughly lately it seems to have gone down hill. Today was horrible. My wife had a 700CCA battery that I purchased last year and it died. It went to get an exchange today and was told to order a new one which is sized 124R with 700 Cold Cranking Amps. I ordered the same one and came to the store to pick it up and exchange it and they would issue the refund of the $150, so this made it my second visit today. They gave me the new battery and when I put it into my wife's SUV the positive and negative was reversed and I brought it back (my 3rd visit). I was blamed because I ordered the wrong part, it turned out that I was suppose to order 124R-1 instead, so I had to go back home and order the otherone and return a 4th time today. I was given the 124R-1, but this time with only 600 cranking amps. It is sad that they did not check to make sure that both batteries were the exact same before I left and that I now had to order another battery. I paid $300, which will be refunded, but this could of easily been avoided had the supposely professionals check to make sure that I was leaving with the right battery. With so many different specs on a battery and with the negative vs positive being on one side and sometimes being on the otherside, one would think that these professionals would double check before sending someone on their way out the door. It is bad that Advance Auto Parts no longer carries the 700CCA battery and now only carries the 600CCA version. Now I have a 16.5% weaker battery with less startup juice that will last less time and Advance is charging customers the same price for it. Was having car trouble and went here to have my battery checked. We were helped by Henry Woodard, the General Manager. He was so kind and helpful! My battery was fine and it turned out that I needed a new starter for my car. He looked up the item number for me and told me to order it online and opt to have it picked up at the store (which I did). Doing it that way got me a discount. Henry gave us extraordinary customer service. He was just so nice and courteous and with the patience of Job. His personality was upbeat and positive. He let me know the services that the store offers for free, which includes battery check and installation, starter check, alternator check, windshield wiper installation, engine light check, and they will loan you tools. We bought windshield wipers while we were there and he put them on for us. I loathe car problems, but Henry made the situation much easier to deal with. After purchasing the starter, Henry referred me to a good mechanic in the area (that too was a good experience). I couldn't give 5 stars because while Henry is a wonderful example of customer service, some of the other employees left a lot to be desired in my subsequent visits. They weren't rude or anything, but just very dry and unwelcoming. I mean, greet me; don't wait for me to say something first. Customer service 101. After dealing with Henry, my expectations were way up. Anyway, Henry was wonderful and I will return to this store because of him. read more

I left this place shocked and totally satisfied today. I first had my battery tested because of several weeks of sluggish to near not-starting. It was one of their batteries (the Silver) and only one year old. Their tester showed good battery, bad alternator, but a trip to my mechanic for extended testing confirmed the opposite. Since Advance's machine wouldn't return a "defective" code, there was no way to generate a free exchange for me, even though the warranty was 2 years and the battery was clearly failing me, regardless of what their tester said. It stunk, but my only option was basically to leave it with them and go buy the better one from my mechanic. I certainly wasn't going to buy another Advance battery, maybe ever. After talking awhile with assistant manager Nyeli (sp?), she went to the back, came out, and printed me out a slip. "What's this?" "I just issued you a full refund." Wow. Free and clear, no exchange possible in their system, but they went the extra mile anyway to save a customer. I will be back! read more

I had a spark coil go bad on my Durango, so I decided to replace them all at about 150,000 miles with BWD brand coils. Unfortunately, I have had a number (5) of the replacement coils go bad over the 2 1/2 years they have been in the truck, but since they are relatively easy to swap, and the BWD coils have a lifetime warranty, I thought no huge deal, just an aggravation. Today I needed to pick up some parts, so I went to the Advance on Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn, and was told two things, both were not true, by the manager: 1) That coils are an electronic part, and therefore the lifetime warranty is only for 45 days; regardless of what the web site says which is clearly lifetime warranty. 2) The coil that I pulled out was not a BWD coil, because it wasn't the same shade of gray that the new coil was, as if BWD did not ever change anything about replacement parts (such as the shade of gray). Unfortunately, BWD does not mark their coils, so there is no way to prove that this was a BWD part (although it is). Basically the manager called me a liar because I said it was a BWD replacement coil, but couldn't prove that it was since BWD doesn't have a brand mark on it. I am going to file a complaint with Advance, and will see if they care. I hope so. read more

I normally have a great experience at Advanced, but this location seems to be an exception to the rule. I only saw one employee (he seemed to be a manager) & he was very short with me & quick to refer me to another auto store, even after I asked for other Advanced locations. He claimed that their machine for checking computers (check engine light) was not working, but I got the feeling that he just didn't feel like helping me. read more

I'm no mechanically inclined individual, and I had an issue with my windshield motor, so naturally I go to here to check it out. The employee, his name was Ford, immediately stepped into action, checked out my car, explains to me the issue, installs the new part, shows me how to do it myself, and found me a really good deal. To say I'm happy with the expedition service provided would be a radical understatement. Ford, you are incredible, it's people like you that keep me coming to Advance Auto Parts. I went back recently the staff had changed and they did not connect my battery correctly. I went back to the store spoke with the manager who was not nice. He had a attitude with me. So with that said I'm taking my stars back and replacing my previous good review with a don't go here and have them work on your battery. read more

Prices a bit higher than the competition but very helpful staff - helped me find exactly what I was looking for in about 2 minutes. Will go back here but will also do some comparison shopping before I make the purchase. read more

Staff has always been courteous and professional. I generally deal with this store for the better service.
