When I got home to Morgan, they fixed that rock chip for an absurdly low price. Last January, the rear bumper cover got a deep scratch and a bunch of scuffs from backing into the blade of my snowplow. I was certain that I needed to take it to a Tesla certified body shop, which I did. I got an estimate that had 4 numbers before the decimal point! Completely outrageous. I took the car for a second opinion and Canyon Collision Repair came through again. I just got the car back today (after only 3 days) and the paint match and fit/finish work is outstanding. I will take any car needing body work to Russ @Canyon Collision Repair for as long as they are in business.

Yes it's an hour drive from SLC into a beautiful valley where there is no smog and it 's like driving into Mayberry in the Mountains. These guys are honest, great, will tell you truth and charge you a fair price. My son got his mirror ripped off when a bicyclist downtown slammed in to his car without even stopping. All of the bids he was getting were ridiculous for the fix. He drove an hour paid 1/3 of the cost and even got to eat greasy fries at the Hitching Post. If you are frustrated with your choices along the Wasatch Front take the drive, call ahead so they expect you. Save lots of moolah and spend the day in a Mountain Village that will make you happy and a break from the inversion. What's not to love?

We were buying a jeep from Darren Bideaux nearby. They were taking it to hollys to do the safety and emissions. We set up to have the shop look over the vehicle to make sure it was mechanically sound. We specifically wanted the motor mounts checked because we thought they might be broken, so we discussed this with the shop ahead of time. They called my husband and said the jeep was great and had nothing wrong with it. It had a shake when put in gear so we thought for sure the motor mounts might be shot. He asked if the motor mounts were bad, they said nope it looks perfect and was super clean. He asked if the oil cooler was in good working order because it was common for them not to be, they said yes it looks great! They said we aren't going to charge you the diagnostics fee because we did safety and emissions. That should have been our big red flag on the situation but we chalked it up to a good, reputable shop like we were told. We're an hour and a half away so we just trusted it. Fast forward to buying it the next day, taking it home and to our trusted mechanic. The motor mounts were broken, oil cooler was leaking all over the place and the rear brakes should have never passed safety. My husband called them to talk about the findings and they wouldn't even have a conversation. Had they charged us and we had a paper trail we could have gone to small claims court but they knew what they were doing. Stay away! Photos from our mechanic included.

So, I have a mixed story, if you have the time to read. The first person who helped me the first…read morefew times I went seemed amazing. He seemed like a really nice person, actually cared about me. He had run some tests just trying to diagnose my overheating issue with my car. I thought he was being really nice because he hadn't charged me anything, because he hadn't found the real cause yet. He even spent all this time trying to drive it around to recreate the issue (it stopped overheating when I brought it in of course). I would give a 5-star rating for that person individually. I don't remember his name, but he told me about how he has flown helicopters. Then there was the other guy who helped when I voluntarily brought it back. He charged me just over $100 for the previous work (even though I wasn't told about that and like I said, I had voluntarily returned so I wouldn't have been charged if I hadn't come back). I wouldn't have necessarily minded paying for the test that they ran, but I'm used to the treatment where they say "we plan to do this and it costs $x, do you want us to do that?". I am not used to the, we'll do something without asking for your approval, make it seem like we're not charging you, then suddenly spring a price on you when you decide to come back. Furthermore, his receipt was basically just a handwritten, vague note that I couldn't use at another shop because it didn't say specifically what test they ran. That seemed very unprofessional. So, I would give a 1-star rating to the person who helped me the second time and he, specifically, is the reason I left and went to Brake Time Bob instead, because I can trust him and he doesn't pull that crap on me. So, I'm not really sure how good of service they provide since I went elsewhere to fix my car (ended up being a blown head gasket). I don't know if it was like the first guy was bending the rules to be nice and the second guy was just following normal policy, but they need to be consistent about the way they treat you and charge you for services. If you go there, I would say, make them promise they won't do anything without telling you the price first.

I went to Western Auto radiator for service and glad I did. It did not cost me more for a flush than was quoted by the oil change place. I had them do thermostat too and my old car was done right. Very happy. They took extra care of me. When the work was done, the boss/owner put my car on a OBD2 scanner providing me a very helpful evaluation and advice that will keep my old car on the road. Happy to find Western Auto Care. Good people.
